Put together a video from a trip we filmed back in July 23
Haven't chased jewfish in a very long time so time to get the old beach rods out and give it a go

@@hkeepingitreel7441 ,yes theyre amazing what weve discovered later on is to use like 10 m of 200lb braid as a pre leader ( stronger knot for youre main braid to the much thicker braid then tie youre normal nylon or floro carbon leader on to the thicker braid ) this thicker braid helps alot with cutting youre finger . also dont forget to lock that drag before the throw and set again straight after.

I have not been to Newie in a while but went to Stockton beach a few weeks ago and the beach the surrounding community is imho an awsome fishing spot.

That fight was an Eagle ray every day of the week - Caught so many of these and they are a menace! haha
Yep sure was, always get excited when they take off then the let down when you realise it's just another ray, on the positive side always a great fight and tests your gear our.

No Jewies but thought I'd share the adventure as to what we do to try and catch them, I have recently been out done by my son, got his first legal jewie, proud memories 👍🎣

That was at Stockton, you pick up a pass from that service station, can camp, park anywhere along the beach from my understanding, we lit up a camp fire, stayed there overnight with no issues

False information you haven’t been able to camp on Stockton beach front or have fires down there since the 90s thw beach permit only allows you to drive along the beach
There’s dedicated campsite in the dunes you have to pay for
Love it mate. Nothing better than spending a night on the beach so long as its not blowing 40km haha. How much do you reckon Stockton has dropped off with the jewies now that there are so many blokes hitting it? Or is it still as good as it ever was?
