- The Type R is hands down the best daily driver you can have by far haha
Just having some fun while she’s stock and seeing what cars she can hang with. I’ve been consistently impressed with the Type R since the first time I drove it and it keeps surprising me. Can’t get enough of this car and can’t wait to see what she does with a little more power.

The fact that the R was stock is even more impressive. Bolt ons and tune you'll be gone before the scat's tranny has a chance to get in the right gear.

@@KingRen420 once you're moving those scats shift fast. It's when you're starting from a roll. It's like the car doesn't know what gear it wants to start in.

@@KingRen420 I was going to comment the same thing...this is the same 8 Speed in newer Audi / BMWs. By far one of the fastest shifting transmissions I've ever driven. ZF is too fire haha! But I do agree with y'all...sometimes the Traction gives the Trans some issues in regards to the perfect gear Lmao!
At first I noticed there was something odd with the first Scat Pack roll race. Then I saw the last race in the video and it made more sense. A good Type R driver would be able to keep up with a stock Scat Pack. R+ mode really makes a difference the throttle response is very aggressive.
A stock ctr isn't gonna keep up with a stock scatpack lol, sure they weigh over 1000 lbs more than a type r but they're also making 200 more hp at the crank. Sure in 3rd gear 60 roll they'll barely start walking away but once you shift to 4th the scatpack starts gapping and pulling away faster. Even if you were the most competent manual driver in the world you are not gonna keep up with a scat, hell even if the type r had an auto dct I would still put my money on the scat. And no I'm not a Mopar fan boy lol, I own a cw '19 fk8

@@Dankershim Scatpack does 1.4 mile in 12.7 on a good day or 13 flat so yes the Type R on the first half will be holding ground but it will eventually be at paced by the Scat but only by .7 of a second so for comparison.
Scat pack beats a stock type r all day, that last charger was an RT, makes less power than a scat pack. How you can tell is it says “hemi” on the side from fender and doesn’t have the bee

Raced a type R when my manual Gt was stock and pulled buses. You can tell in that last run how he was flying past even with his not so great driving. Type r still a great car just out of its habitat straight line performance.
Yes type r is to heavy for the power in drag racing.. But stock GTs are not fast either, older civics with cheap turbo set ups can easily walk them.

FWD turbo 4 cars have been shining lately, I recently picked up the Elantra N and couldn’t be happier. To think this type of setup is competing stock is amazing! Great content!

Is your N DCT? I own a Kona N and I've beaten cars that I thought would never be possible. Def needs to be some Hyundai N cars on this channel , especially against the type R would be sick!

Thanks for putting this out there bro! I was considering a new Type R and this really seals the deal for me. I plan to modify within the confines of the warranty, aka exhaust, JB4, intake, etc and hopefully will be at least 350whp or so and can really stomp on the majority of cars out there at that point as yours stock is already doing some bullying of its own!
And the fact that he is making sandwiches between them shifts and still keeping up or beating some of these car's is even more impressive

Keep it stock bro, I have a type R myself. These clowns that are modding them are not smart. This is a special car, and once you MOD it the car value goes down....way down. Brilliant video to show these kids that this car needs no mods to win.

@@roddavis6327 LMAO, the Eco Boost Mustangs are trash, yes, but the GT certainly isn't. 460 HP @ 3700 lbs is no slouch. 4 seconds flat to 60 mph and sub 4 seconds with some bolt-ons... yeah, trash...
Been working on my FK8 for a year now. Fully necessary 27Won Boost Tubes or full intercooler Piping, RMM, Intercooler and Fuel System upgrade. At the very least the HPFP. From their you can add what you want and the car can handle it. Just a few bolt on's plus a tune and you're going to be out of fuel
Those beeps kind of give you a slight advantage. You gotta do slower beeps.

I'm surprised that 300ZX didn't have more top end power. I wonder if he converted it to a single turbo setup vs the stock twin setup. I'm guessing single, which is probably why he had no top end, lol.
It’s a single turbo his gears were looonnnggg and his top end isn’t that bad considering how decent the Type R top end is haha
1st gen 300zx came single turbo stock. You are thinking of 2nd gen 300zx z32. He likely had an upgraded single turbo as the factory one prob couldnt keep up w the type R

Yeah that bottom in delay is in his computer to keep the tires from spinning. The ECM works with a yaw sensor if he were to turn that off you'd be roasted toasted and goodbye gone even.
I think I need to come out of my shell and try a Type R, starting to love them specially when they are a turbo k20 from factory!!
Different type of K20, not like the K20A2 or K20z3 or even the K24s.. if those engines had come stock with turbos and 16psi they would had made over 500hp reliably.. I feel older Ks are still the better engines.
Did really good against the 5.0 ...once the mods come it'll be a menace. Cars got great potential I see.
That 5.0 should've annihilated that Type R on the first pull, dude is sitting at the wheel, lol, his reaction tubes are awful. Not saying that Type R isn't fast, not at all, it just won't hang with a 5 liter.

I Drive a bolt on 16 gt raced my friends stock type r they're great in the corners but gearing and top end is the Achilles heel , they hang in with me up till 70-80 but with the 3.31s I got it's a wrap.

I have a 23 Scat Pack, 20 Camaro SS and a 23 Kona N. The Kona does ok from 30-80 with em. After 100 it gets pulled by trains

This is my first vid I've seen from you bro and these are some good runs! I will say though you need to be careful with posting videos of yourself racing. There's been many youtubers the cops have targeted for videos like this and showing your face can get you in some big trouble because its hard to win that in court when the proof of you driving is right there. Really enjoyed the video though man! I recommend getting a pov go pro or a 360 camera outside the car to stay out of trouble even though I really do enjoy seeing this view of the races. Edit - saw your other video on getting the go pro 360 so you're already on it haha
Haha I’m a barber and have clients that are lawyers, retired cops etc and they said it wouldn’t hold up in court. If they wanted to by now they would have got me. I appreciate the concern tho but yessir I can’t wait to get some more content with the 360. That camera changed the game

I've got a 18 Type R FBO running a 94OCT tune (Canada). It's pushing about 396WHP & I've definitely hurt some feelings haha. These things are quicker than most people expect on roll races.
