A welder from New Orleans on a Job site in Nashville during lunch had rigged up an old propane tank into a grill on the back of his truck and cooked up some burgers and dogs for us and brought out a box of Frog Bone sauce. He gave me a bottle for free because I was blown away at how good it was and used it up on everything I ate from pizza to burgers to noodles, literally everything. Man I haven’t been able to find it since and you bringing it up brought me back. This made me so hungry and you make me happy to be from the south. Much love from Tennessee.
Doing my first boil today, going to follow this process as best we can. Different equipment so I know we will have to adjust timing but I feel like your videos have given me a lots of great information.
I use a 367,000 btu dual jet burner on my 120qt pot. Sounds like there’s a F-15 in the backyard. Water gets to a boil in no time at all. I enjoy your videos. Keep them coming. You’re a very creative person with a lot of good recipes. Continued success, Sir. Thank you.
This was a great educational video Rus and those products you used are top notch brother! Man, I need to boil me up some Crawfish and stuff. I haven't had any yet this year! I loved the outtake at the end! LOL Cheers brother!
I collaborated with Troy back last fall in the steamed vs boiled shrimp video, but Troy is a good friend and would love to do many more collabs with him!
the BEST boil I’ve seen thus far 🤤 so organized and looks really flavorful! I don’t really see ppl use oranges, so when I seen u did - I was like: yes this is my type of boil lol
Ohmygosh Russ this was a FAN-TAS-TIC VIDEO!! Man those pieces of equipment are bound to make cleaning and boiling seafood along with the fixins so much faster and easier!! Those mud bugs and shrimp looked delish. The bloopers at the end...PRICELESS!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Great job!!👍💗
Thanks, I sure appreciate it! I would hate to know that I had to go back to boiling crawfish and seafood in a standard boiling pot again and the new Cajun Cleaner is just so easy but yet does a great job, and of course the BoilBoss is key in getting them just right after the boil. It's a perfect trio of boiling gear and combined makes it a snap to produce great results time and time again. These three companies should join forces and put together some sort of "Ultimate Boiling Package" where you get all you need in one shipment. That would be great!
Another awesome and informing video Russ! Doing these boils are a personal favorite of mine. Hope I can catch up with you this summer for another cook and collab video!
Great video, used most of your ideas this weekend for a crawfish boil, really like the idea of puréed onions and celery which i used, I finally made a great pot of boiled crawfish, thanks for the great video, keep them coming.
Rus, I learned more about Cajun cooking in this one video than I ever knew. Wow. The money, technology, effort, and time that goes into a cook like this is mind blowing. What an awesome experience! I hope to get down that way one day and find a real boil. I love seafood but never get any real Cajun style. Awesome job, Rus. Love it. Smoke on 👉💨
FANTASTIC information! Thank you Rus! I like the idea of that cajun cleaner! Followed you and Keith's advise for our Easter boil and everyone loved it! Thank you so much for taking time to video how you do it to teach us rookies how it's done. Greatly appreciated! Take care and God Bless! AL
Glad your boil turned out good! I'm really loving the Cajun Cleaner! Frees you up to do other things while it's doing it job, plus you can clean veggies, fish, wildgame, old dirty tennis shoes LOL.
Another great video Russ! I did my first boil ever several weeks ago follow you and Frog Bone's steps and they turned out amazing. Spicy, juicy, veggies weren't mushy, mushroom flavor bombs were a big hit. Thanks!
HEY RUS, that was a awesome video my friend I watched it to the very end, those crawfish and the shrimp were cooked to perfection, I could have eaten everyone of those in that pot. That also was a great educational video I learned a lot from it . I had to laugh when your son said take two, and then you said say what, that was to funny, I have never seen you laugh like that before, that was a kodak moment. I wish I could have been there to join in all that fun that you guys had , but I would probably gain a bunch of weigh hanging around you guys. LOL AWESOME VIDEO MY FRIEND. GOD BLESS YOU.!!!!!
Hey Joe, thanks brother! I appreciate the great comments and glad you enjoyed the video and got a good laugh at the end. Lot of fun shooting this video :)
If everybody is satisfied then I wonder what people dislike the video. looked good to me. Glad I saw your video. Been Boiling a long time and i wanted to change it up and I bought a boil boss because of how impressed I was from your crawfish video showing how fast the temp dropped. much better method than walking around the pot and not being able to churn the pot at the same time. Great video and and Im gonna try this recipe because my mom only eats shrimp and Im always cooking her shrimp separate. Not anymore!!!!!!
I don't pay attention to the 0.06 percent of haters who thumbs this down. That is a very small percent for as many views as this video has, plus I look at the 4.2K thumbs up. That tells the real story. Thanks and enjoy!
Rus , amazing video and I’m gonna have to order the Cajun Cleaner !! And loved the outtake too ! DS “ Party Boat didn’t float !! 😂 Good times and great memories always when it comes to a cookout!!
Thanks Ronny! He actually said "flow". He meant the clip didn't flow well as I was talking about it, so we had to reshoot that part LOL. Yes sir, good times indeed! Cheers!
That pot, bucket cleaner, and ring cooler are must haves if you do boils often. Hell even if it's just holiday action these tools will get you where you need to be. Mouth watering now too bad crawfish just went out of season
I really love your videos. These large boils always look like so much fun! You do a wonderful job of educating and explaining the process also. That cleaner is a genius idea! I really love that shirt too, brother! Cheers 🍻
Great video Rus. I put together the stuff to do a shrimp boil in a couple of weeks. Doing a lot smaller scale than your boils, but we are going to enjoy!!
Watching your videos and taking what I learned from you and because of that it’s won me 4 1st place trophies in a amateur boil, here in Houston tx. Thanks brother!
Mr. Rus, thank you so much for your educational recipe videos. After watching your videos, I have decided to do a shrimp boil for the 4th. Any pointers for a first timer from the midwest? I've spent time in LA after Katrina and Rita and fell in love with the food and the people.
Great Video ... Very informative and step by step is a great help to people who have never done one before .. Everything looked really good and makes my mouth water lol . Great Job Russ
Awesome video! I just did a boil for Mother’s Day and the crawfish and shrimp turned out perfect. It’s all in the timing. I would love to get all the gadgets eventually to make it easier but it can still be done if the timing is right.
The crawfish were thinking, "Yeah, spa day. This is nice!" Then comes the Tunnel Tube. Looks like some great product Rus. I'm sure that Tunnel Tube would rock some of our local lobster!
Another awesome shrimp and crawfish boil Rus. That Cajun Cleaner is just the ticket to really help clean your crawfish. As usual, the end product was cooked to perfection. I agree that you really need one of those super boilers to get the water up to a boil and keep it that way much quicker than a standard flat bottomed pot. By the way, I liked that BBQ Timer T-Shirt you were wearing, love to get my hands on one of those. Anyway, thanks for sharing your expertise and cheers to you my friend!
Thank you William and yes, a high performance pot is critical for great results when doing any seafood. If your not able to time the boil then it becomes a guessing game and usually leads to overcooked food. I seen this t-shirt come across my feed on FaceBook and had to have it LOL! Thanks for checking the video out, as always I appreciate it!
You’ve got your self a new subscriber from Tuscaloosa. This looks amazing... honesty Conecuh is the best sausage I’ve EVER had. I’ll have to pack some with me on the way to college😂 I’m gonna follow your tips to do a seafood boil tomorrow except I’ll use the spicy conecuh. I can’t wait😃
Hi Sara! Glad y'all are still enjoying the videos. Yeah crawfish is more of a regional thing, but there are companies that ship nationwide, but I would imagine it's quite expensive. They are even high here, but we normally do a couple of crawfish boils every season, and I normally do a seafood boil in early fall.
We can find them around here durning Christmas and New year's for a decent price. So it makes for a nice treat for the holidays. We usually have Seafood for new year's eve and sometimes Christmas.
Stasi Lozada , just stop Steaming your Seafood and start Boiling everything... Seasoned with pretty much anything Zatarain’s, Louisiana, any Liquid Crab Boil, or Tony Chachere’s!!! (In a pinch y’all could add a buttload of Old Bay Seasoning” 😬😎
have always loved your videos. from baton rouge and take tips from you all the time, thank you. I would like to know how many pounds of crawfish did you use in this boil specifically? Thank you!
It was only one sack of crawfish. Our sacks usually run around 33 to 35 pounds. I also added in 15 pounds of shrimp plus all the fixings you seen in the video.

You only had one job. Get his number. Now, we have to suffer because of your mistakes.
I’m just a dude from Miami. I’ve never eaten nor tried craw fish but man let me tell you. What a great intro and video. Great vibes. Nice job.
Doing my first boil today, going to follow this process as best we can. Different equipment so I know we will have to adjust timing but I feel like your videos have given me a lots of great information.

Hello from Wisconsin! The family and I are still loving your videos Russ. We just wish it was easier to find crawfish up here so we could make this!
