The OA Defense 2311 or formerly Oracle Arms 2311 is a pistol which came to the market over a year ago with the intention to shake things up. What is it? In short, it’s a 2011 that takes Sig P320 magazines. It’s a lot more than that and not as much like a 2011 or double stack 1911 as many would think.
It features a multi optic plate system, changeable grip modules and or magwells and tons of performance features. It has a crisp and short 4.5 trigger, night sights if you don’t want an optic, thumb ledges and a moderately textured grip. The operating system is more like a CZ Shadow or CZ SP01 with the link-less barrel and no barrel bushing. Yet the trigger is like a 2011 and rivals a Staccato P. Magazine compatibility was good as we used 21 round Sig P320 magazines for the testing along with the three supplied Oracle 320 magazines with a 17 round capacity.
How did it perform? Like it should! Considering it costs as much as it does, it performs like it would cost that much. It shoots like a 2011 and in fact stay tuned for a future comparison or head to
Head with a Staccato P! With the large safety levers and lack of grip safety, shooting is easy. The OA Defense 2311 full size 5 inch pistol was a great one to review and very impressive. We look forward to getting more rounds down range and seeing how this stacks up against a crowded duty pistol market. Law enforcement will pick this 2311 at some point! It definitely shoots better than any Glock or P320 I have shot!

Looking forward to your review on the compact! I have a 320 and a 365XL and I'm looking for something to fit in between them as a gun that I can run high round count classes with as well as EDC. Please touch on holster options if you can, ALS options for a duty holster and what you like for a CC option.
Ok will do! Looking forward to it as well! The compact pro is sweet!
I want to like it due to how many 320’s I own and 320 mags..
Then I get 1 in my hand and see it costs as much as a staccato P..
then I’m like.. nope
They are cheaper than a a Staccato P DPO model and have some things to offer which rival the P.
Having shot both of them, I can tell you the P shoots better, as in more like a race gun. Yet the 2311 gives you more for you money, namely multiple plates, mags and is about 300 bucks cheaper. Both are great options.
I felt very similar as you until, I shot both of them side by side extensively. We will have a head to head out soon!
@@HuntFishShootChannelI will agree to disagree.
I get Staccato’s at “retail”. My Heritage P was 2540, P rite at 2000, and my C2 just under 2000..
Dawson plates are sold locally for 140 ish..
It not having a bull barrel and costing over 2k is 💩. Their chungus of a magwell seems to be an afterthought and looks terrible in my opinion.
Slide to frame fit, safety fit, and several other features simply do not compare to the staccato.
I’m not saying it’s a bad gun. It’s a 1400-1600 dollar gun in my opinion and would need several changes before I entertained paying 2k$+ for it
@PnP-td1mt fair enough
Looks like a gun for spaceforce 😅 but seems like it performs really great
Definitely does!
New to your channel. Solid video. How about the Platypus platform comparison? Sure, Glock mags & Sig mags, but interested in the overall pro's and con's of those side-by-side.
That would be great, we gotta get one first
I'm looking forward to a comparison of the 2... Just waiting for someone to make the video. I know the 2311 is a little bit more pricey in comparison, but steel mags vs polymer mags. I do think it's awesome being able to put a 33 round mags into a double stack 1911 style pistol.
Hey Mike, I would love to carry that at work! Any failures?(my bad if I missed an talk of that) another AWESOME review brother!
Nope none! We have about 600 rounds through it now and no cleaning just some lube! Running great!
Just found your channel. Nice review! Subscribed
Thanks! Glad you found us, since you are new here, new videos every week. Here’s what we have coming up: MR920P, Staccato P, Staccato P vs OA Defense 2311 and My general purpose rifle set up 💪

Have to check them out! Thanks
Great review Like always. Is Oracle is better than axg legion?
Yes it is. The AXG legion is no slouch. Definitely the best 320 available and my second favorite striker fired gun.
@@HuntFishShootChannel Nice. Which one is first?
@donio8194 Shadow Systems XR920P. It’s a shooting experience that is unmatched by other factory pistols.
I haven't bought a Shadow yet and now here comes Oracle Arms . I just can't keep up with all the good stuff but I'm given it a hell of a run Lol
The Shadow System XR920P is one I’m waiting to hit the shelves! Good to hear you like it that much @HuntFishShoot.
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💯🔫🔫☕️☕️
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I know this is a stupid question but does that 2311 shot better than the mete mc9
Yes way better lol
That is a sweet shooting handgun and that trigger is Awesome 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
For sure!
Really wanting to pick up the Compact. Would you say they are on par with Staccato from a quality standpoint? I 100% trust my Staccato’s.
100 percent on a quality stand point and I have found it runs better dirty than the staccato. I think the spring rate is better for reliability and the ejections are much stronger. We have a compact and just got it so you will see it soon enoughn
@@HuntFishShootChannel Thanks appreciate the insight and looking forward to that review!
How would the grip be in girth for a small hand?
It wouldn’t be bad trigger reach and grip is very similar to a 320
What red dot are you running on that 2311?
That was the Shield RMSD in the video but it has a Leupold Deltapoint Pro on it now!
Thank you for the thorough review! Great video! -Mike
Absolutely! Thanks for helping us bring this to our audience!
That compact rocks this is complete awesomeness 😊👍
For sure!
I saw the compact version to very cool gun .
Great option also! We will be reviewing the compact pro here in a few weeks!
I can tell your smiling like a mo nkey waiting to get to the range with this one 😄👍
Very true
Is the widest part of this gun the thumb ledges, slide stops, or ambi safety?
The Ambi safety is the widest part of it.
I love this pistol
Me too!
Cheers! -Mike
Does anyone know when OA Defense will release the Combat Elite 5" model?
I think it was supposed to be this fall!
Would love to see a comparison with the Stealth Arms Platypus that takes Glock mags.
We would too but having a hard time getting one
👀💪. Bet that was a fun one.
Sure was!
@@HuntFishShootChannel And! 👀 dude! That trigger.
@jamesdelong6401 one of its best parts!
@@HuntFishShootChannel how do you think it be for a carry/duty pistol? With the trigger that light?
@jamesdelong6401 it’s not any lighter than a Glock or Sig, it just doesn’t have any creep or mush.
The Humblemarksman did video of OA 2311 vs Staccato P2011, if you are interested.
Anyone stated the OA2311 is a better buy than the P is high or being paid
I’ve seen it
Very nice!
For sure!
Love the idea of the gas pedals
The idea works too! 💪
Do they have a compact i hope
Yes they do!
Im smiling like a monkey now 😄
🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤑

Apples to apples I see a Staccato P. In my personal quiver, I see my preference for a “combat carry” pistol as an FNX45 Tactical. One of my biggest gripes with my Sigs is the optic footprint and sights when using said optic. FN Tactical models got it right. I have a DPP on my 220 Legion SAO 10mm, and I really don’t like it. Admittedly, I’m an RMR2 guy, period. I’m also biased toward FN pistols, admittedly. All that said, I really like the 320, as it’s a well designed system. The internet hate/lore from G-fanbois is hilarious to watch. 🍿
The FN stuff is great and very well done. I’m an Sig fan myself. Lots of great options out there!
If I can see the front of the barrel I would not want to be in front of anyone firing a gun 😂 filming or not
We use a mix of handheld and tripods. We take safety very seriously
Looks cool but not worth two grand….
That’s up to the individual and their needs, or preferences. To some, it is easily worth it.
Assume FCG is 1911/2011?
Location/style of ambi safeties looks same as 1911/2011.
Intriguing Pistol. The purpose built 9mm mags would allow a “shallower” grip- like CS Staccato.
Very similar parts, minor differences. Not necessarily proprietary parts but quite a bit different than a regular old 2011/1911
@@HuntFishShootChannel I just examined a detailed “parts diagram” of the OA Defense 2311.
The Hammer, Sear, Disconnector (FCG Parts) are identical to a 1911 or 2011 as I thought they must be. This is in no way a “bad thing”, as it allows for tuning or tweaking trigger pull if one desires, or has knowledge to do.
