I've got several to try with my new puppies. I'm getting them the 29th of this month (eight weeks old). I do have this one, though I think it's a level 2. Any suggestions how to get the puppies started in their level 1 (just push the button on top) to avoid frustration?

i'm not sure the best approach but I think you are on the right track... by the 2nd or 3rd time they will likely figure it out.

She got really good at it... Once we switched her to adult food she started eating like a cat... we just leave food out all the time and she eats when she feels like it... puppy food must have tasted way better.

Hope you like it! We switch between this one and a "quieter" one... She has mastered this one and it can be a little noisy as she is still in a hurry to get all her food as quick as she can but it is fun to see her work the puzzle and it is definitely the slowest feed option we have for her. :-) Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

@@hardybrothersproductreviews One problem we had was the little posts breaking off on the lids. They give you an extra but two broke. My solution was to pick up "iexcell 100 Pcs M3 x 5 Stainless Steel 304 Hex Socket Button Head Cap Screws Bolts Kit" for $6 on Amazon. drill a 2.7 mm hole where a post broke and then thread a 3 mm screw part way into the hole. When installed, I just advanced it the rest of the way with the small allen wrench provided with the screw kit. Fixed for good. This is such a wonderful item and our dog loves it so much, I had to find a way to fix this little design flaw. Now it should last a long long time.

@@JohnClulow thanks for the tip! We did have not had that issue but my dog did start banging on it with a twisting motion and getting the lid to pop off... She was determined to eat faster. :-)

@@hardybrothersproductreviews Now THAT is a SMART DOG !! Our dog hasn't figured out how to unscrew the lid, but he quickly learned the "double tap" "triple tap" and even "quadruple tap" techniques. Hearing the lids fall back down as he methodically checks them is pretty funny!

Well, I spoke too soon. This morning our dog managed to get the led off with a "left side swipe". It's not like we told him about your dog or anything. We didn't. It just happened. Now we'll see if it starts to happen more frequently. Nothing a little velcro can't fix; I'd like to think we're smarter than our dogs.

How long did you say it took your dog to understand the puzzle? 1.5 weeks or 1.5 feeds? Sorry. Didn’t catch it in the video! Just got one for my 7 months corgi pup and he just hasn’t figure it out yet!

I think I said 1.5 feeds which sounds odd. Lol. If I recall first feeding I had to keep dispensing it for her. The next feeding I did it a few times and then she took over. At first she would jump on it. Eventually she got to the point she could get the lid to pop off.
