Barry's comment about not liking licorice and anise seed has got me thinking about a poker face challenge with each of them facing their food fears/nemesis.

Some of them were treated to their food nemesis’s in an episode several years back where they did the brownie points and the one with the lowest count was treated to their hares/dislikes and the winner was treated to their favorites.

I appreciate Mike respecting the comedy rule of three, and going for the water after the extreme bitter despite both Jamie and Barry telling him not to
Jamie's "Don't go for the water" made everything 100% better as Mike instantly regretted not listening to his advice.
Truth is Mike couldn't bear not to share the same experience as his mates. He is quite egalitarian you know.💚🐸☘
It looked like there was more Bitrex in the water but I assume water just doesn't work with it and it keeps sloshing the bitter around increasing the effect. If there was though, that was brilliant.
@@hannuala-olla4302 Bitrex is very potent, but you can only process so much of a bitter taste at once. Say you have spots of concentrated bitrex in your mouth. They are 10/10 on bitterness scale, but that's just a "3.6 roentgen" type of deal. Now you drink water and dilute those spots. Congratulations, you managed to dilute them to... still 10/10, but now you have your whole mouth covered in it.
They will be finding bitter spots on/around their lips for a couple of days. Working with denatured alcohol/methylated spirits teaches you how to respect bitrex.

I enjoyed tipsy Jamie so much I think it'd be hilarious to watch a drinking episode of some kind. Maybe a pretentious liquor episode or an expensive VS inexpensive.

In all these challenges Mike does the eyes closed, elongated face. Jamie does the sad/crying child, and Barry does a weird smile where his chin recedes and he looks like a mouse or something, plus his eyes twitch

Agree 100%. In this one, Barry was the only one who had to deal with both the actual taste and not knowing what was coming. It is easier to disguise a reaction when you know what is going to hit you.
All they have to do to solve it is tell them what it is at the beginning

I agree but it doesn't seem to matter much, just look at how Mike did. I think Jamie is right and deserves to sit the next one out. If you guys are that bitter about it you can just make it a rule from now on that the winner needs at least 4 out of 5 etc to get immunity.

You could simply fix this by mixing up the order each round so they all go first an equal amount of times.
I think you should have somerounds where its everyone together. That way noones building it up eta but all suffering at once

As someone who has had severe chronic mixed tension migraines everyday of my life since I was born watching these guys respond to brain freeze and while having Ben explain its like migraine pain is actually quite therapeutic as cruel as that is because I fele like the understand that sometimes you just can't do anything else no matter how 'well you're taking it/coping' i. e. masking your pain and discomfort

I'm with Barry, everyone bringing a secret ingredient and the others not knowing at all what to expect (even as they try it) is an amazing idea.
For those who dont know, absinthe is traditionally cut by 50% with water that drips over a sugar cube. So not only does the percentage get cut in half, it gets slightly sweetened to help balance.
Did you know you’re not allowed to serve it straight
I have a lovely antique absinthe fountain where the glasses sit underneath & it drips ice cold water down, through the sugar cube sitting on the absinthe spoon & into the drink. I love it, so beautiful.

i usually drink it by dipping the sugar cube in and then burn so melt and get all caramelised, no water need thanks taste dangerously good :D

Honestly it is nice to see you moving beyond just "spicy". I'd love to see more videos exploring heavy sour, sweet, etc. flavours - in both challenges and maybe even (barely) palatable cooking?
"Bland" would be a fun one. Just a big plate of unseasoned pasta or overcooked, unseasoned chicken, or overcooked unseasoned veg... basically just cook food how your grandma did.

The rebooting of the “Ben Robot” reminds me of a student of mine (3-4 years old) who would now and then become a robot and you had to interact with him like he was a robot.
He always listened and behaved if you played along ☺️

Ed and all the other cameraoperators must have some amazing stabilizers on their equipment for the video to have so little shaking and bobbing. After all they are even closer to the action. All you get to hear is a little laughing at times and I am sitting here, spilling half of my drink over the couch, myself and the laptop because i am shaking with laughter. This video deserves a "film the ones filming video". Seeing Ben being smug and happy that he doesn´t have to compete isn´t enough for this one. :)
Definitely need to rotate the starting order, or at least tell the first person what the point of the challenge is. You can tell that Jamie is using Barry's response to psych himself up!
