  • Chopping Corn Silage near Eaton Ohio
    As we get real close to that time of the year to chop corn silage here is a video to get us all ready for it. I shot this video in September 2020 and never got it edited and uploaded to RUclips until now. Corn Silage 2022 will get started here in Ohio around the end of this month. I have lots of great corn silage videos lined up to film this fall but this new video here will hold us over until then.

    I'm born and raised in NYC inner neighborhoods, I never had any interest or knowledge of farming until I started playing Farm Simulator on my PlayStation and once I discovered Mike's page it's become a dream to me at the age of 46. I find myself daydreaming of one day striking it rich, buy some land and work the fields all day....God Bless you Mike and all the farmer's in this great nation and around the world!!! 💪✌️❤️🦉

    Why are you harvesting this early, I always thought Ohio was a mild climate (here in northern Germany we normally harvest corn from mid september to mid october and its not colder than Ohio here).

      Hey you must of missed me talking in the beginning of the video? I shot this footage in September of 2020. Corn silage can start here anytime from mid August to mid September depending on our weather. We have been getting some good rain this summer but I talked to several guys that will be starting in two weeks

    I can't see how feeding beef cattle make sense in a indoor operation. There would be a lot of labor keeping the feedlot clean vs outdoors where the 'stuff' can compost and then be piled and hauled out later.

    • @rebelgaming7718
      @rebelgaming7718 Год назад +1

      This is a dairy farm dairy cows have tobe milked inside cause of all the milking machines plus all the electronics that are inside of the building a regular feedlot is outside in the weather which in that case most feedlots when they clear out a pen full of cattle they go in there with scrapers and some use earth movers but most use blades and front end loaders to clear out all the manure and get the dirt ready for the next set of cows togo into that particular pen

    Why do they use the tractors on the left side oft the harvester if all the console are on the right and the operator usually has to focus on the console/monitors

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  Год назад

      Operator preference. Some guys switch back and forth every pass and just work across the field that way and others are just always keep it to the right or left.

    I enjoyed watching all those big machines. Thank you so much for that Mike. But I honestly don’t believe in dairy farming. I do not believe in separating a cat from its mother, and I think is the coolest thing that has ever been done. I don’t believe in killing calves because it boys and I don’t believe in making those kills slaves turn out machine. It’s very sad to me.
