Just got one and had no idea where the chip was ect. Video helped alot in making decisions on purchasing of the new 2023 yfz50 my son loves it! Enjoy yours! Like we plan to ours.
So glad to hear buddy. My son rides his almost daily. The chip is under the front hood. It’s basically a little jumper clip that is held in top of a black box. It’s left of the steering wheel. Best wishes
Great overview! FYI: 220lbs is the curb weight of the quad. The weight capacity is only 90lbs but the manual seems to suggest this is due to it being unstable at >90lbs. I was riding the rear bump stop when I was on it. The rear shock pre-load is adjustable with a tool from Yamaha to help with heavier riders.
I never even thought to mention anything about adjusting the shocks. Thank you for commenting for people to see great info. I weigh 190 pounds my son is about 35 pounds. We bottom the shock out also but I haven’t adjusted it just for him. But it does pull us around just fine.
Great bike , i removed the jumper plate and put a 2 way switch on it so you can easy restrict or de-restrict the revs. Nice video hope he has years of fun with it .
Have you by chance figured out what accessory is meant to go in the plastic housing at the center of the handle-bars? There’s two pre-trimmed holes that look like they can be punched-out and small hole at the base that appears big enough for a small wire to pass-through. My first inclination was an hour meter but I’m not too sure it’d fit/line-up.
I haven’t put much thought into to be honest. I know the holes you’re referring to. I’ve been aiming to put a light bar on my sons. So I’ll probably put the rocker switch there
@@americandream_89 would love to see a video on that install if ya do! Ive been trying to find real replacement headlights for the fake ones with no luck so may go the lightbar route as well.
Just curious where you purchased it? I’m in south Florida and the price you mentioned is significantly cheaper than what I have been seeing and I have been doing a lot of shopping.
Joe hills in ky They have zero made up fees Sell at or below MSRP Rex’s cycle in ky sells Kawasaki and Polaris No made up fees as well Uship.com will bring it to you
I wish I could steer you in the right direction. I’m not familiar with Texas dealers. But if you watch my videos about dealers on here, it will give you an idea of what to watch for. Wish I could help more buddy.
@@americandream_89 okay thanks, I heard the sputtering form ur sons bike in the video and my sons bike was doing the same thing, just didn't want to break anything haha
My boy has always been extremely tall for his age I’m not certain now what his height was at the making of this video. But most kids are 2-4” shorter than him on average. As long as she can grip the seat well with her legs she will be fine everything is at her fingers.
You’re a great father.
Truly appreciate this comment!

@@Max-jv3yg yeah I’ll make a video when I do it. I’ve got a few other things I’m wanting to do to it also such as a whip light.

I just purchased one for my son and I was wondering if that sputtering is doing any damage to the engine?
Any time a motor isn’t able to run optimally it’s going to be worse for the motor. With that said my son so rides his weekly and zero issues yet.

How tall is your boy? Possibly getting one for my daughter for her birthday but I’m worried she’s too short lol!

Lol bro this cool
Thanks, my son loves it. He will be upgrading before long and then my daughter will ride this one.
