Thank you for this review, I'm about ready to buy my new range I knew I wanted the whirlpool double oven but wasn't sure which one of the two available would be better for me. Now thanks to you I know the difference between the two.
Be sure and read the part on calibrating the oven temps. It took me a few times to get the temp where I like it. You may want to invest in an oven thermometer so you can tell the true temp. I bought one for $8. Thanks for tuning in and commenting.
I have the 745, looks a lot like this. The elements are hidden elements below for easier cleaning, but they are still there. The literature refers to it being a triple element oven on the convection, so it does have a lower element. The upper one has a hidden lower element as well. Very nice for cleaning and not dripping food on it causing all kinds of smoke.
+AFAskygoddess Glad it helped. You will need to read up on calibrating the oven temps on page 11 in the manual. If the oven seems to cook too hot you can adjust it down. My top oven needed calibrating once (down in temp) but the bottom needed it twice. I went down 10 degrees each time until I found the good spot. To start try a dish that can take a higher without fear of burning. I wouldn't start with a cake or cookies. As with most baking it works better if you turn your pans during baking. All the burners cook a little different. The front right will be a lower heat than what you may be use to. They are made this way for a reason. The back left I use for melting chocolates and foods I would use a double boiler for. I like the fact I can use different burners for different things. Just give it time to get use to it. The back right seems to cook like a normal burner for everyday heating. Hard to explain. Just give yourself time to get use to it. Overall I'm very happy with the oven.
I haven't used the clean cycle on mine, and I never had one before. Could you do a demo on that? I really like my stove. I use the upper oven most of the time, but need the lower over when I make larger things, like my turkeys. I had a small spill in the lower oven and want to clean it. Thanks for your help.
Need a little more help...I have a double oven electric (Whirlpool) wall unit. I cannot figure out if I'm baking a pecan pie and the temperature is 400 for 15 minutes and then I need to lower the temperature to 375. I cannot get that accomplished. I have read the manual and it does work. Please can you help me with this?
RocciGirl I had to have the top element replaced. The first few months it took some time to get the temperature regulated correctly. I put a thermometer in both ovens to make sure it maintains its correct temp. Once I got use to cooking with it I’ve been pretty happy but it did take some adjusting.
Good review...are you still happy with it? We are looking at the convection model but have it narrowed to this one and the GE model. Reviews are still hard to come by too!
Yes, it has both, but I haven't tried them. I never used a self cleaning oven before. The manual DOES explain it, but I would like a video. I learn best from seeing things in action.
There is a 555 model and a 755 model. Only the 755 has convection cooking options. Three is a display that turns the upper oven on and one that turns the lower oven on. On the lower oven display you will see bake, broil, keep warm and convect. If you have the 555 you will not see the convect option. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh I have hated it from the sec we got it. It’s the worst ever. One of my grands swung on the top oven door arm and broke it when it was six weeks old. It cost nearly the same to replace the top oven almost to buy another. Wish I had e to placed it. Dirt and slime gets inside the glass and nothing can clean it. It’s a nightmare. I’ll never get another double oven. I have hardware in my back and the bottom oven is so low, I can hardly open it. Do your research before you buy. From 1-10 I give a zero
Thanks Lisa, I was confused until I read your review! Thanks!
Lisa, thank you SO much for your great and well explained review. It is difficult looking online especially during these difficulty days!

Anyone have this or the convection model and still love it? How has it held up?
Thank you! This helps a lot.
How do you set the clock - no manual for the most basic function… thanks
I was hoping that you would include directions for setting the timer for baking at a future time.
Thank you for your video! Merry Christmas!
Have you had any problems with the stove since you've purchased it?

Is it self cleaning?
Does this range have self cleaning? or Steam?
