Did you notice that all the breaching pods were named after famous figures and characters in Sci-Fi.
@@martinwyke I only noticed 3 or 4 of them. Sadly I only noticed quite late in the editing process 😬
Don’t worry the money people are already beating at the door of the people that made such a GEM. In a couple of years, after a well earned break, we’ll have our Expanse II.
@@MrKawaltd750 I really hope so. I really want to see how they switch up the next 4 book with the 30 year time change
@@dark_ops1651 Great video and Battle breakdowns. However, the background music is really loud and really distracts from your breakdown. I firmly believe background music is not necessary and distracts from what you are saying. I also believe that people want to get information/hear you speak, not to hear background music.
I love the detail that Amos and Bobbie couldn't hear the Roci firing its PDC's because there's no sound in space.
Interesting to see you here trigger. When you think about it, at times, the crew of the Rocinante move like you do.
@@marrqi7wini54 Only thing the Roci is missing is
@@StickWithTrigger what is this, ace combat?
BUT if they were hanging on to anything or even standing on the ship, the vibrations of the PDCs firing would be heard faintly inside their suit. I LOVE how they handle sound effects in this show! sometimes its for cinematic purposes and sometimes it feels real.

Enterprise. Millennium Falcon. Serenity. Normandy. Voyager. Discovery One. Now we can add another name to that Pantheon. Rocinante.
Galactica should be on this list as well
Don't forget Pillar of Autumn, Spirit of Fire, Infinity, BC-303 Prometheus, BC-304 Daedalus, Odyssey, Apollo, Hammond, Battlestar Pegasus, Enterprise, all of them, and Defiant.
@@Predator42ID
While it was important I technically wouldn't put in the Pegasus since all of the ships I know on your and quiet t's list are the main protagonist ships.
Kestrel/Redtail.
I do hope so, but… doesn’t quite roll off the tongue the way the others do lol
No sci fi show will ever top the Expanse. It was a good ride while it lasted, friends.
Fr
Have you read the novels and novellas? They are even better!
One more note: The Giambatista gets used as a shield against the railguns for the rocinante during the transition, likely being controlled remotly (or the crew egressed with a breaching pod, one of the dropships or an escape pod)
pretty sure it was remotely controlled, I remember seeing a panel on the Roci CIC that says so
@@thomas.02 actually Clarissa says nav link is solid .. it was slaved to roci i think

Hopefully someday we get to see the Laconia ships and the hole Laconia arc
Really would love to see the Heart of the Tempest vs EMC & trade union. And The underground invasion of Laconia
@@brooklyn560 Bobby destroy the Heart of The Tempest with a freaking anti matter torpedo.
please may i ask, those Laconia ships that are being built, what kind of technology advantages do they posess ?
@@miloddvoranak8900 Laconian ships use protomolecule tech from the "stick moon" build stations in Laconia's orbit. They have a regenerating, kinda organic "skin" so when you shoot holes into them said holes just close up again. In book7 there is a battle in Sol system with all of the Transport Union, Earth and Mars firing with all of their ships at a big Laconian battleship and it takes the hits ON PURPOSE to demonstrate that nothing the enemy fleet can do would kill this kind of ship.
also not to be a downer but I kinda hated book9. They'd have to heavily revise that book for adaption. While I loved 7 and 8, 9 imho pulled a game of thrones. All characters blend into the same behaviors, new characters that are incredibly hard to find likable or interesting ruin the story pacing with their constant extension of their viewpoints. And speaking of pacing, the story drags itself for 95% of the way all to end on the last 20 pages in a, in my opinion, huge anticlimax and leaves you very unsatisfied
Those railguns had a terrifyingly fast rate of fire.

Huge capacitor banks, excellent cooling.
More like machine guns or auto cannons really
Mcrn technology. Wouldn’t expect less
@@foxhound6912 Not only MCRN, but LACONIAN TECHNOLOGY!
Anybody else notice all the Easter egg names when the 3 teams were sounding off before the drop onto the station? I saw Hicks and Ripley from Aliens, Ricco from Starship Troopers, Every single name was an Easter egg on name badge screen
No torpedoes left to fire on the Pella.
“What are we supposed to use, man? Harsh language?”
I did but totally forgot about the names until now. It was the ECG graphics for all the droppers that stuck in my mind as the primary 'Aliens' EE - forgot about 'Ripley' and 'Hicks' completely.
I saw Cmdr Shepard and William Riker too! I had a big smile on my face when I saw that scene :D
Not to mention Duncan Idaho from Dune!
aswell as admiral ackbar :D
Love how the show started with a Cant like vessel blown up and ends with another blown up
One thing this series has taught me is that people need to be paying more attention to freighters and not dismiss them so readily LOL 😂 Guy Molinari covering for Roci's assault on Thoth Station, the Edward Israel launching weaponized shuttles in orbit of a giant fusion reactor planet, the Pella disguised as a freighter and taking out most of a Belter flotilla, the Giambatista dropping a few tons of whoopass + the rest of her squad on the ring station... nobody watches the freighters closely enough! And in the end they handed over the keys to known space to a bunch of freighter captains, what could go wrong? 🤣
Roci disguised as a freighter itself on the way to search for Lionel Polanski, Weeping Somnambulist being used to covertly infiltrate Ganymede, Zymea attacking Tycho, and Chyezemoka bring converted into a proximity mine
Lol u can say that again 😂😂😂
@@C76Caravan Nobody. Ever. Suspects. Freighters.
The vast majority of Belter pirate ships are also retrofitted light freighters, they just have missiles on them :D
There are just probably too many freighters to be suspicious of every single one of them ? And in the case of Giambattista, looks like it didn't matter that the freighter was clearly suspicious (bad time, coming in too fast ?), because the ring access was clear, and the ringspace railguns don't seem to be able to target and/or hit ships coming into the rings from outside ?
Has anyone noticed that D. Idaho (Duncan Idaho from Dune?) was part of the landing party? Not to mention Hicks and Hudson from Aliens. :-) 3:39
Every single name is an easteregg. Every last one.
one was also called ripley
@@backtoearth1983 they even had a mass effect reference lol

D Quaid, Total Recall
D Bowman, from 2001
Bravo group:
J O'Neill, from Stargate
Charlie group:
J Rico, Starship Troopers
S Connor, Terminator
W Riker, Star Trek
@@backtoearth1983 Well, not quite as Bobbie and Amos are part of the story. Twenty eight easter eggs in one scene has to be a record though and two of those twenty eight were real people. The crew did an outstanding job with this scene in both the combat parts and the huge easter egg part.
I personally think Amos covered Bobbie because of what she said on Ceres, about fighting for the person next to you cos that's all you have and Amos, doing what he does, taking it literally
It was brilliant ,the ending it deserved.I didn't think Amazon could pull it off
The show is not made by Amazon, it is made and owned by Alcon. What Amazon owns for now is the streaming rights
@@shepardpolska According to the writers, Amazon actually suggested to shorten the season to 6 episodes so that they would have more money per episode. So, Amazon did play a significant part in this.
@@opusmaximum I wouldn't say that is significant. It didn't give us better writing but better CGI
@@opusmaximum Amazon could have given them more money to keep 10 episodes and also have more money per episode.
@@nzer19 Yes. Amazon could also have cut the budget or cancelled the show after season 5 or not cancelled it all. But here they said: you can keep the budget as is and we do not expect 10 episodes from you.
The last thing he saw was Filip not being there. The direction he looked was Filip's station.
I'm just hoping that in 15 or 20 years, when the actors are as old as their characters in the final book, they'll get together with even better film tech to bring us even more jaw-dropping scenes than we've seen as yet.
Maybe in a perfect world 😁
In 20 years they might be able to film some scenes in space.
The books detail that aside from a couple wrinkles and some greyer hair they look much the same. All thanks to anti aging drugs.
In 10 years, you can prompt your locally installed AGI to generate prequels or sequels to your favorite movie or tv show, and they'd be unique every time. And you'd have the choice to watch it in 2D, 3D, VR or via neuralink direct signal injection in the brain.
The ground assault on the ring station gave heavy Mass Effect vibes.
For me it was like quake 2 or quake 4 early invasion. Even similar to Starship troopers. Épic scene
I don't know about you but The Expanse makes the most intense space battle ever, no massive squadrons or fancy flying like Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica, just a few ships in the dark, hanging to the limited firepower they have, when every round counts, you have to fight with your whiz.
The expanse's battles are rooted in reality. Flight mechanics don't work in space as they do in atmosphere, so battles tend to be linear in nature. Move towards enemy, merge, move away, typically on a single vector, dog fighting isn't feasible.
@@PaulDowning I watched "Why Are There No Fighters in The Expanse?" and it made total sense to me, but it also changed my perspective on space battle. Now I can't enjoy films like SW and ST and BSG the way I used to. 😭😭
@@tomarnold7284 Star trek gets a sort of pass, as they're not reliant on fuel as such, and also use future tech that gets around issues of physics. Starwars, not so much. Easier to treat each ip as just different.
@@PaulDowning Yeah, at least ST doesn't contradict it's own theory. SW invented new theories that creates plot-holes to its early films, makes viewers complained "why didn't they do it back then??"
The so called ground assault team infiltration was amazing and crazy, its not just the rail gun rounds you have to worry about. As seen during Amos long entry on his booster seat to the station, its was a shitstorm. There was so much debris an other stuff that you could most likely be killed by a directional container or a plate door hitting and its game over.
but that was so good. the sensation that any character could die, because they were in real danger. It made us fear for their lifes
@@cassandramcbride7007 Ya its was good, both from an audience preceptive and a character progression one.
It's like the D-Day depicted in Saving Private Ryan except with a lot less deaths and the bullets are giant container crates.
It was also a little contrived too :/ like literally Holden explains this plan of his whilst he, his crew and ship are with the UNN fleet. So in essence there's literally no cocievable reason why he couldn't have set off with 50+ of their best marines in full powered armour >_> aside from budget and character interactions of course.
Gotta love the suck
Liang Walker was a badass, sad didn't get to see more of him.
6:18 I never saw anyone mention this but look at the belter being turned into red mist by the Roci's PDCs. Macabre to think about
woah, didn't notice that before!
Jesus, I'm pretty sure the Roci's PDCs are 40mm... mist is probably all that'd be left of ya after that.
@@Sky_Guy from seeing ac130 footage I'd say yeah.
those are rebel martians afaik
Tiny mistake at 1:00 - the Giambattista and Roci aren't "slowly" moving towards the gate, they are burning like crazy. That's how they get there before Marco.
I meant it more in a figurative way, but you are completely right haha 😄
@@dark_ops1651 Funnily enough, in the books they really were doing their run very slowly in order to not arouse much suspicion
@@Konsumkruemelmonster Because in the book Marco was allready in Medina safe behind the railguns.. they provoque him (Michio/Drummer's speach against him) to come out by doing a simultaneous attack in the entire solar system against all free navy strongholds so when he is out of the ring space fighting the coalition the Gianbatista sneaks past him.. in the TV show he is retreating into the ring and their plan is to take Medina and the railguns before he gets there.. for wich they launch the total attack but only to slow down him and distract him (and hopefully take him out while at it). the TV version makes less sense for that
Haven’t watched it yet, almost scared too since it’s the end. (For now) I’m coming back to watch this vid as soon as I watch the episode…. Gonna miss these breakdowns. Just something I got used to seeing every week. I do want to say thank you for all the enjoyment.
Don’t worry, beratna. I’m not even close to being done with my Expanse videos :D
Felt like a satisfying conclusion for the series (at least on Amazon).
same here. i often wait til series are over and reported to have a good ending before i commit time to them. which becomes a bit of a catch 22. since we need to watch them so they will be renewed.
quit GoT at season 6.
based on fan comments never watched last two episodes of Chuck and watched but reject season 8 finals of scrubs as pasted on "holly wood ending"
Just watched it……. Solid! I loved this book series and the show, I held back on books that are after Babylon’s ashes to see how this played out in the show. Really great cast and terrific characters and development. Just a really well put together show. Hope we can all talk about the next season or series down the road! ✌🏼
The near countless number gates and new worlds provide plenty of opportunities for spin offs.
I agree I wish there was more expanse to come. It was the best finale or episode of any show I've seen in years. It was amazing.
I feel like since they showed so much Laconian stuff the people in charge are planning to shop the show around or maybe a movie series deal with Amazon
Best show ever, had tears of joy and stood clapping in my front room when it was over........the mrs thought i was wierd but she dont know..............BELTALOWDA!!!!
A beautiful landing! One of the few shows that has never once let me down. I do wish we'd gotten one or two shots of the main battle fleet in action, but I get why it narratively probably wouldn't make a lot of sense. That drifting burn was probably the most beautiful physics displays in the whole show... really hard to believe it's over.
its because of the budget cuts the expanse team had to work with. they made what they could with the money they had.
thats why when we see the unn fleet we only see 1 or 2 battleships and some drive plumes in te distance.
A stellar example of how to do more with less.
NANI? EPSTEIN DORIFTO?
That new armor is quite impressive, and weird that the MCRN strike team didnt have it on their ships.
The Roci could take a direct impact of a railgun round and only have mild damage, while the MCRN strike team all got taken out in one shot.
Though the Roci was only hit in the back, and the strike team was hit head on, so could just be that.
I believe it was an oblique impact rather than a direct impact, or simply, it was a graze rather than a direct hit. With the energy involved, even a graze with the older armour would have been catastrophic.
1-The strike force were not evading and driving in a straight line. Roci was doing the crazy wiggly-jiggly.
2-Shot bounced at an angle. No small ship armor would withstand a direct hit like that from a big rail gun.
3-The armor appeared to be relatively new and was supplied by UNN. MCRN strike was unilateral and not supported by Avasarala.
MCRN were stone broke by that point, they were decomissioning, not building, ships. It took all their time and effort to get one Donnager class back to battle worthiness. UNN were struggling too, however they did managed to put protomolecule armour on the newest Nathan Hale class battleships, over the weapons and engines - these ships were high tech but significantly smaller than the Donnager and Truman class battleships.
Roci on the other hand, by that point was the darling of the UNN, MCRN, *AND* Belters, and even though the factions were at peace with each other, they all wanted Holden and his ship to side with them, so at that point they would give them all they had - no civilian ship other than the Roci was ever issued light railguns, Goliath power armour suits, naval-grade torpedoes, or anything like that - and a little Corvette frigate would be an ideal testbed for them to put protomolecule armour on.....
Im thankful they didnt tell the entire story. For us who read the books, it’s nice to feel like doing so was a unique experience.

I'm hoping they are secretly writing a season 6.5 as a filler between 6 and book 7. Expand on laconia some more, and see what becomes of Philip and if he ever reunites with Naomi. Also, Clarissa's arc could be expanded a lot, certainly with the deadline she has now. Best redemption arc i've ever seen.
That's not in any of the books, and freestyling books into TV was what killed GoT.
@@simulacrae Well, while I doubt that there is anything that's on the way that'll fill the gap between 6 and 7 in the way that was said above, they're already is a prequel in the works via the Telltale game, and what was being said is technically not out of the question.
The difference between GoT and The Expanse is, the writing duo of James S.A. Corey (Ty and Daniel) were very involved in the production of the TV series and the TV show never overran the books. Game of Thrones mainly derailed because the showrunners had nothing to adapt and there was far less input in the show from George RR Martin. If The Expanse was to showcase a story set in between the time jump between 6 and 7, filling in the blanks is less of a problem than having to make things up as you go along, because at least you are connecting the dots and have boundaries. If there's anyone that could do it effectively, Ty and Daniel could certainly pull it off for sure.
But I think that there's a concerted effort into figuring out which medium they're going to use for the final 3 books, if they haven't already figured that out yet. As stated before, there's already a Telltale game on the way, so it's pretty obvious that they're dipping their toes in the water and seeing how it is to work with game developers and so forth. But on another front, I'm of the opinion that they might look to animation to adapt the final three books. Animation certainly isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but it does allow you certain freedoms when it comes to scope and scale, at least compared to live action and while there are certainly challenges when dealing with animated projects, imagine being able to see certain scenes that you weren't able to before because of budgetary restrictions. Imagine having more sequences not unlike CQB from S1E4, more space battles and more ability to truly customize environments to even more incredible degrees. Imagine being able to see something like the ending of S5 with the Battle at the Ring Gates between the MCRN/UN Joint Fleet, and seeing battles like that brought to life.
If there's anything that I can criticize with the show, it's simply the limitations that come with needing to shoot on sets with real cameras and extensive green screen setups. They did a fantastic job with what they had and all of the challenges that they had to overcome, what with COVID protocols as well as budget issues, but animation could potentially solve some of those issues in the future potentially.
@@simulacrae The writers of the books are also part of the TV team. They've got this
@@Brswing That was more input than I asked for but interesting nonetheless :) I think the Expanse Universe would make a way better Metaverse than what facebook is planning. I mean in the lines of Eve and Elite. We could make the story in the 30-year void of the Expanse timeline, ourselves through an MMO.
@@paulmichaelfreedman8334 oh I would love a Expanse MMO
The sequence where Amos was flying toward the railgun in his ejection seat was simultaneously hilarious and terrifying
To me the use of the Giambattista runs parallel to how the Guy Molinari was employed in masking the approach of the Roci during the battle of Thoth Station.

nice catch :D
A Laconia spinoff would be cool, but I'd be happy with the last three books being adapted for screen.
They were, imho, the best part of the series.
The series could have ended at book six, or even book three, but the authors wouldn't have been able to stick the landing the way they did with book nine.
@@rakisuzuki-burke4148 They decided how the history would end while writing book 2.. its just that they wrote it in 3 chapters of 3 books each.. each chapter with its own conclusion so the series could had ended in season 3 finale ...or season 6.. or hopefully when /if they adapt the final 3 books
That protomolecule armour on the Roci gets very much under-rated.
Those planetary railguns blast straight through a Donnager-class in an earlier battle. They bounce off the Roci.
Good recap and I really miss this series. I'm an old scifi fan and this simply bests any I've seen
One of my favourite sci fi shows in recent times. Going to miss it a lot.
You see one the bad guy literally popping when hit by roci's PDC.
4:19 That was SICK! My heart was in my throat when that happened.
it was a very good finale, i was worried 6 episodes wasnt enough and that they were rushing it, but they did it great, i am wondering about some of the open plot lines like filip and laconia though.
It was an engrossing and satisfying finale.
This show is one of the best Sci Fi shows ever!
I loved this show so much I watched it twice in six months. I'm finding a bit of a dearth of worthwhile things to watch so I might make it 3.
Great video, and let's all remember the greatness of expanse....
The Expanse deserves a few movies made from the remaining episodes. Hope they keep the same cast and do it soon before the actors age.
I’d prefer a few more seasons over a few movies. Show like this need time to sell the whole story of an arc. Season 6 wasn’t the best purely because it felt too rushed compared to the others
It's worth bearing in mind that the vast majority of armed Belter ships (Free Navy, Pirates, Major OPA factions included) don't actually have PDCs. It's one of the reasons the Tynan is fairly unique in that it has 2x state of the art Martian PDCs "best guns in the Belt" we're told. Most Belter vessels carry torpedoes (and missiles which are cruder/slower/less advanced), PDCs are very rare outside the military.
Amos is the most badass badass ever
It's the battle for the keys to humanities future and all they could spare for the Giambatista assault was 30 dudes? With the fate of entire planets at stake they should have sent a whole company of MCRN Force Recon Marines. Really didn't like how the end of Inaros was basically flying into a door that slammed shut.
That's very true tbh. They could have completed their objective if they replaced the entire assault team with Force Recon Marines. Their Goliath power suits are ridiculously strong 👍
This is how you finish a story. Not like that stupid GOT.
It makes me sad that GOT had basically unlimited money thrown at it to be finished in a satisfying way, yet we got the biggest flop in TV history w S8.
Here the producers had so much more to say with passion and skill, yet they had to cut the season in half.
What is got
Somehow without reading the books i knew that they would end the free navi by using the unknown aggressors.
Loved the breakdown, what an episode! Will miss The Expanse 🥲
Great battle, although I was expecting more of the Donnager and Xenobia in action.
Yeah, some wasted opportunities there.
Yeah, it's too bad the Donnager was distroyed earlier in the season
@@ttomkatt1 the Class not the Donnager several more where built.
I was hoping we would see a combined fleet action with UNN and MCRN togeether but all we got was a bridge officer saying torpedos away and then a hit on the fake pella.
@@ttomkatt1 Several seasons back.
S6E6 is out. The actors have assembled. The final act is about to begin.
It is surprising that combined torpedo salvo of Drummer fleet fails to even hit one FreeNavy frigate, and many of the torpedos completely missed the target. Then Pella and the frigate ripped through the entire Drummer fleet in seconds.
Actually its pretty logical... Those are a martian light cruiser and heavy frigate.. pretty latest ones at that with mear almost perfect pdc grids lika donny and these are just rag tag belter torps!!! So its not surprising to see them get shit down !!! If u recall in s1 e2 during donny destruction the cic crew will say that " these trops are not like belter torps. Theyr pushing our pdcs to the limit, refering to protogen amun ra torps" so it makes sense
Bodged-together civilian pirate ships vs top of the line martian military ships isn't much of a fight
@@dhinastark3610 not really logical. It's torpedoes with nuclear warhead which should have effective range of total destruction about few kilometers even in space. It means all that filming is wrong. Actually ships have to be far away from each other in formation and PDC have to destroy incoming torpedoes on a great distance (> 1km).
@@Synthonym not really belter torps are without a doubt less advanced than the UNN torps that the frigates pdc network was designed to defeat. Look at season 5, we saw hundreds of belter torps fires and the only one that hit anything hit another belter ship.
@@vladimir0rus if u look closer the belter torps dont have Epstein engine which has blue exhaust thrust but belter torps are yellow like fuel thrust.. same in roci va zameya the torp having the porotmolecule will only have epstine drive ans other are not... I love that when they had their budget slashed, they went wit ha shorter, high quality season instead of a standard length season with a lower budget.
I can't be the only one to notice the juxtaposition of Naomi on top of Clarissa with her not far from apparent death -- opposite in both positioning and intention to their original encounter. Nice touch.
The names of the breaching pods are all eastereggs, lol.
Thanks for explaining the fight sequence
More Expanse would be good. Any space battle review would be good.
3:48 The Giambattista doesn't "cut thrust"; if you have thrust, you accelerate. Instead it's cutting its braking burn, so it doesn't decelerate further.
time to rewatch the entire series for the 2nd time
so real
Thanks. Again, honestly I had only the vaugest idea what all was going down while I was watching these actions while watching the actual show. Only this time I knew that soon enuf I could watch you video so as to get it all fleshed out.
Now I am looking forward to watching the show again only now I will have a clear understanding of what all the images flashing across my screen are doing precisely.
No one mentioned Hudson and Hicks as two names listed on the breeching pods - great reference to Aliens!
'no one mentioned' LOL.
There are 30 members of the breaching team. Bobbie and Amos are two. EVERY ONE of the other 28 is a sci-fi reference - you didnt even get all the Aliens ones, apart from William Hudson and Dwayne Hicks, there is also Ellen Ripley and Jeanette Vasquez......
I liked it but is Bobby the only person with power armor now, most of assault team are in martian uniforms so Mars looks to be providing the manpower, couldn't they spare a squad of recon marines. Would have made it a hell of a lot easier as even the armor piercing rounds looked to be unable to get through power armor.
Maybe they can only spare 1 Martian per assault team. 1 team at each Rail gun. Bobby is basically a Tank....
@@nulnoh219 I think it's 3 teams on same railgun just different approaches. Also what would they be saving armor for, ceres is taken over by drummer belters so no other ground engagements they would need armor for.
my thought was they're using what suits they can find on the Roci, so naturally they'd all have normal Martian armor since Bobby brought her own suit to the battle
So why the strang dog story if we don't get a final movie? Had to insert that cliff hanger
laconia spin-off? 😳
Thanks for the explanation. A few scenes where I wasn't sure who's firing at who. Now, where can I get presale tickets for the Expanse movie ?
In our dreams 😔
I still wonder why they do not use fully automated ships maybe controlled by some AI for war. These ships would be far slimmer, smaller and more compact, they would weight far less and they could pull of extreme high G maneuvers without worrying about a crew getting squished.
I mean besides some dedicated ships with maybe marines or other ground troops these vessels would be far superior to manned ships in the space combat of the expanse.
Less humans -> less views. Humans like to look at humans, that's basically it.
@@georgeousthegorgeous yeah that's the 4th wall break explanation and everyone is aware of that, but there should be a better in universe explanation as to why AI isn't really that prevalent in warfare or basically any other application we really see in the universe ...
thanks. I didn't see that the Pella was defended from the kamikaze attack
Hope they do some limited series on the novellas. Also books 7-9 have been super exiting as the climax of everything we've been show from 1-6. I hope someday we see the t.v. version!
What's the problem with adapting the books 7-9 for tv to be only a few years after 6?
I MISS THIS SHOW IT WAS SO FRICKING GOOD!!!!
The super duper railguns having a single exposed reactor is such a contrived plot point. We're they to lazy to attach a few redundant reactors or even just some capacitors
Also kinda silly they didn't put any pdcs on the structure.
they didn't expect anyone to try and land there, and that's understandable
@@krzysztofczoczynski419 not even for landing craft the easiest way to take them out is probably just huring torpedoes through the ring.
@@JJ-eg4zm Their initial plan was to takeover the railguns, not to destroy anything. But yeah the torpedoes don't even have to go off, just impact only would have been enough to damage the rail gun itself. The Roci only had 3 torps by end of the battle, so yeah, considering that Bobbi could have targeted the reactor/rail guns, and assuming one torpedo gets shot down for whatever reason, they probably could have done something.
@@L3uX that is also something that bugs me how do they keep running out of ammo, the first loadout from the doni lasted them almost 3 seasons and multiple engagements now its like one fight and they're out of everything, even when they haven't an engagement this season without immediate resupply. After first episode they went to UN supply ship after engagement with pella they went to ceres etc.
The surviving Drummer's ship is called the Kandahar like the Afghan city.
Don't know what the background music was. But 👍. Was awesome to finally see these fights.
Is it wrong that I am in love with the Evil No.2, man, woman, she beast "Rosenfeld Guoliang" played by Kathleen Robertson....
nah its not wrong, shes the "death by snu snu" kind of woman
IIRC, the Roci had emptied its complement of torpedos and had only three rail gun slugs left.
They had 3 torpedoes left, and enough rail gun slugs for a good couple of salvos.
All around genius
4:40 and after that bad ass turn we had to scrape the mechanic of the walls with a spade and a bucket
Plus in a few years following the Laconia spinoff you'd get the original cast back aged by a few decades to complete the story
We can only dream
I loved every moment of it and now I'm sad :(
MCRN PDCs are crazy OP, that heavy frigate manage to shot down all of the torpedos?
As said by Spacedock, the TV show version of the PDCs seem to be unfailingly reliable 😄
Cheap Belter torpedos.
Love the video ♥️
the "fast movers from Medina" are likely torpedoes,
also the railguns likely failed because Bobby took out the reactor powering them all
Great breakdown of the battle, I've watched this video at least 3 times since it came out. Please also take this as honest feedback, the constant switching between present simple and past simple when narrating is super distracting. Usually one picks one a narrative tense and sticks with it, it'll make your video seem a lot more professional than it already is with just a little checking. Again, great video and well done!
@@raphaelmohr1965 Thank you for coming back 🫡
No I still say the Jules Pierre Mao trying to start a war is the cleverest ruse.
Did anyone else notice Hicks and Hudson (from aliens) were two names on the screen with the heart rate monitor in this episode? 25 mins.39 seconds in?
Screw them lets bring this back and extend it with fan made content.
no one mentions the ALIENS crew from the Sulaco in the drop pods ?
Hudson, Hicks, Ripley and all the others ??
Anyone notice Bobby do that Neo back fall?
Look at the names in the strike teams XD
So debris of belter ship able to penetrate Pella's armor but torpedo after 20 seconds of acceleration can't. Ok, just a plot oriented physics laws.
I'm hoping for a sequel involving the Laconian Empire and other events that didn't or did occured in The Expanse show, off screen or wagly explained. Perhaps with the Roccinante shown as what they were by outsiders eyes, a sort of phantom they can't really tell if exists or not. Perhaps a brand new show telling us the store in a complete opposite of what we see in The Expanse. More belters, inners and mcrn.
from where came those jump-jet troopers of Free Navy that started to shoot at Bobbie-Amos Team from above? I don't see/hear that, that was mentioned here.
I forgot to mention that I suppose. They were reinforcements from Medina Station 👍
Is it possible that some of the pods were decoys? They mention that 20 out of 30 of the pods made it to the surface, but it seems like there are more in total, and 20% fatality rate seems to corroborate this.
What's more likely? That you have reached the maximum number of soldiers you can spare on this mission or that you have reached the maximum number of pods that the Gianbatista can carry.
I think it's the second one. Thus, it makes no sense to have decoys: just put a soldier there and maybe they get lucky
I agree, a great final episode. Do you think there will be another show about the worlds beyond the gate?
With all the work they put into setting up the laconia plots, and also the work they put into the laconia set, i think that points to a laconia show at some point 😁
Nice video. However, you mention a Laconia spin off....you do know about Persepolis Rising, Tiamat's Wrath and Leviathan Falls? We don't need a spin off, we just need someone to make continue the TV show using books 7, 8 and 9......which are amazing by the way!
Well back in the good ol days, I assumed that some sort of spin off that takes place right after Book 6 could have been possible. I figured it would’ve been easier on the actors who don’t look like their 30 years older counterparts yet. But doesn’t seem like that’s ever gonna happen now 😭
We can hope!@@dark_ops1651
They basically didnt get the budget they wanted from Amazon. So alot of story was left out. And they had to just patch what they had together into 6 episodes. The Laconia stuff was left in and never completed.
"...At least for me" - lol
