I needed to upgrade my old multi-effects processor because it sounded too airy, thin, dated and couldn’t support my mixdowns the way I needed it to. I searched for something with lush reverbs, choruses, delays and more that would work well for both post-production and mastering. I needed a multi-effects processor that used innovative technology and sounded realistic. Since my budget was limited, I had to be careful and couldn’t compromise on audio integrity because the areas in my studio where I needed the unit were critical. I wanted to share this with anyone interested to show that you don’t have to pay a fortune to get a modern multi-effects processor that’s affordable, built well, and sounds great.

@Mee Omi I’m not familiar with the previous model, but I would generally recommend the latest model in this regard. As fast as technology advances these days, most electronics companies can’t wait to release their next generation devices so they can stay competitive. Thanks for watching.

I had this multiFX in chroshairs for quiet a while. I dont realy need it because I already have BOSS GT-100 and plenty of software FX on my computer. But I dont have any FX for my rack unit and using guitar pedals for everything feels like doing something wrong. So, this still stays on my crosshairs and it can do amp sims and distortions so it is also a guitar friendly unit. It would be cool if it also had USB out for recording but I can just use USB on my Studio Live mixer or my audio interface.

As experienced as I am designing and installing large club sound systems, I must admit I get lost a little with processors like this, this is not for beginners. However I feel like a beginner watching these videos because I'm a dj not a musician. I got this to replace an older effects processor that burned up, I appreciate Behringer products but this one makes me realize I need a video for dummies. Something that explains example, edit a b c and d and doesn't glaze over some of the terms and functions like they are complete common knowledge. I know quite a bit, I hear the words and understand them but I've read the manual a few times, it...also assumes you know the terminology. It only touches on one way to hook it up, but there's a few ways. I'd like that comparison. I'd like a dummy explanation from hook up to doing the most basic functions step by step to hear it work. You did a great job, love the positivity

I'm really in love with this Fx rack and its midi properties: does it sync the delay lines with e.g. a daw or a midi sequencer ?

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  4 года назад +1

You can control Parameter Algorithms via MIDI on this device. This is extensive. Parameter Algorithms are all assigned a MIDI Control number that allows you to control the value range. With this, you would need to play with this functionality to get the desired results for a specific effect. I hope this information helps.

    • @PowercoatMusic

@@testohtoby I’m not saying that you can’t control the delay sync via MIDI. I’m suggesting that you should play with the unit to see what it can do in that regard. It appears that this may be possible, but I have not done it. If it works for you, share it with the thread? Also, just about any MIDI SYSEX librarian PC software program should work (many are free). Can "channel 1's" output be set up completely independent from the output of "channel 2's" when returning back into my mixer through the use of plug-ins?
Simply put... if I want C-1 set up for vocals and C-2 set up for an instrument, I wouldn't want an "FX COMBINATION delay/reverb" for vocals that I set to the same exact parameters for an instrument, such as an E-drum, where here I may just want a GOLD PLATE standard reverb on drums.
Can C-2 be a completely different selection for the instrument?
Or are you "stuck" with the same exact selections coming out of both outputs back into the mixer?

    • @PowercoatMusic
      @PowercoatMusic  4 года назад +1

The bottom line is if you like the way your Quadraverb sounds, keep it and use it when you feel it’s required. However, if you want to add more power and dimension to your guitar tracks, budget-wise, the FX2000 is a great investment. After using it if then you feel like the FX2000 is more of what you want, then you may want to sell your Quadraverb. I'm just trying to learn about this myself for live vocals... but I think your limited two just the 2 that are already linked together from the factory.
I also wanted to know if you can run a delay into reverb then another delay, etc. I'm concluding you can't really STACK, you can only select a setting already consisting of a single delay and reverb combo. Unfortunately, most of us haven't gone to a trade school to have the tech groundwork of what the manufacturer assumes you already know. This video is definitely helpful though.

Effects 61 to 71 are multi-effects algorithms, which allow different effects to be used simultaneously. Effect 61, for example, can make a solo guitar “wider” with chorus and simultaneously add a room reverb. Please note that you can modify the structure of a multi-effect (see below).
CHORUS & REVERB: This algorithm combines the popular chorus with a gold
plate effect (as in algorithm 2).
FLANGER & REVERB: The combination of flanger and reverb effects.
LESLIE & REVERB: The input signal, modulated to a degree that you specify,
is then processed with a reverb effect. This effect works especially well with
      keyboards and guitars.
PITCH & REVERB: The pitch shifter can be detuned in semitone or cent steps.
The reverb, on the other hand, can be controlled in time and mixing ratio.
DELAY & REVERB: Delay and reverb are the most common combinations for
vocals, solo guitars, etc. The reverb used here is a gold plate, a room that features
a distinctive brilliance and can be used in many ways.
TREMOLO & REVERB: The intensive variation in volume of the tremolo gains
more depth and wideness with the reverb.
PHASER & REVERB: The combination of a classic stereo phaser and a
      reverb effect.
CHORUS & DELAY: While the chorus can contribute to a wideness of the signal,
interesting repetition effects can be adjusted with the delay. Vocals can be given
a distinctive effect without making the voice sounding blurred.
FLANGER & DELAY: This effect is just right for creating a modern,
      slightly “spacey” vocal sound.
PITCH & DELAY: A repetition of the audio signal, with an oscillatory effect added
      by the pitch shifter.
TREMOLO & DELAY: A fast or slow, intensive variation of volume, which is
additionally processed with a panorama effect.
      Thanks for watching. 👍🏿
