@Respond R that was exactly my point. It's shaky and it's no where near as smooth as pro drivers.
When they are pulling as much G's as a fighter pilot (maybe not quite as much) they have to be smooth so they don't get ill or just to make it through.
Professional drivers are much more smooth drivers. Reminds me of Alain Prost...... Mr. Smooth himself.

I'm just an F1 fan since I saw my first F1 GP at the Nurburgring in 1966 from the hillside on the left of the hairpin below the Karussel [2:52 and 7.57 in the video], but I've driven my 2009 GT-R at the F1 track in Austin on a day with NISMO Performance Academy in 2013, and both of us are still going strong at 11 for the GT-R and 79 this month for me. Even if you didn't start Karting at age 4, find a track nearby where you can learn a lot of skills that will help you in everyday driving.

The laptime itself isn't really unrealistic, the 919 EVO (which is about as fast as a F1 car) was also in theory able to go under 5min, but the drivers didn't want to risk their lives for it. What is unrealistic though is how you're able to drive over curbs with no real effect.

@KLM 117 Less than 0.8s faster around SPA (previous year, this years F1 was actually faster), gaining all of its time on the straights and losing to F1 car in the corners. Considering that Nordschleife is quite a bit more cornering focused track than SPA, i doubt that the 919 would be faster than a F1 around it
@BTICronox maybe with the new track surface on some sections... but there are still a lot of bumpy.

Just that some people likes to make the gears taller. Probably because it actually easier to drive it around high speed corners in games like this

@@gavoserch f1 is no where near 919 evo hybrid... 919 is purposely built for lmp1. The thing is, if you hit curbs on nordschleife with f1, you would wheel spin like crazy...
Vehicle physics are terrible. It's like I'm watching an accelerated video.
With no tyre degradation/higher tarmac grip in GT Sport that's just the spec and levels of downforce the 2017/2018 era cars can produce. I'm not surprised really. I was messing around in Assetto Corsa and did a 4:54 within a few hours of making a decent setup, and that was with tyre degradation. This is almost a pretty realistic lap time since the track at the Nordschleife was repaved. If the pilot had no sense of danger and bigger MGU I suspect the 2018 car could do around a 4:58 in real life.

Reminds me of the x2010 physics in a way. Incredibly hard to master the ring in a car such as this. Incredible pace.
That was impressive! Super steady with that wheel. I didn't notice any sawing.
I think the laptime could be real but the physics... an f1 car and the curbs on the nordschleife could never work together. It was a good lap though it is difficult to do such a lap without mistakes.
Gt sport had a physics update recently that changes the cars reactions to curbs to be more realistic

I've done this track with the Ford GT LM SPECII Test Car in a pretty decent 6:50.270, but this absolutely gave me a heart attack.

@@MouseNightshirt Driving the F1 without ABS is nearly impossible on GT Sport because of the poor implementation of ABS in the game. I drove without ABS in F1 2017 most of the time and it´s a massive difference.
