People hide behind the Hamas argument while ignoring the other side completely. Also America has historically been against freedom fighters, ironically. I am 71 also, and affected by Vietnam (we were "communists" instead of Hamas, and beaten, arrested, dehumanized and finally, killed). I learned about Israeli terrorism in Egypt (on children!) at 13, but then let the matter go on the back burner, helped by 24/7 propaganda, but I always "knew", yet did nothing except argue endlessly with the ugly Zionist partner I had for a while. Oct 7 reawakened me. I'm not physically capable of doing what she is, and even if I was, it wouldn't be easy at this age! I am humbled and ashamed by her, and I can never make up for my gross neglect. You go, girl! 💔🖤🤍💚🇵🇸

Most of us have lived such sheltered lives in bubbles that we're soft and quite frankly pathetic.
The extent of my own activism is to hide behind a keyboard and use social media to spread awareness. And it's just too little.
A silver lining of what's happening is that at least some people are waking and realising that they have to do something - that ignoring atrocities and staying within our bubbles isn't the answer.

I wish she would run for office. I honestly think she would win. A lot of people might think she is too extreme to win, but her positions are very popular and I believe that her interpersonal presentation is what people are looking for in a leader. She really isn't that radical. Her message is basically stop killing innocent people- not a radical opinion by any means. She just has the guts to take her message to those in power and that is exactly what we need in elected officials.

The time will come when the next generation reads the history that is being written today. This is what everyone should do: Exercise your skepticism, your criticism, held those in power accountable for their statements and their actions in national and foreign policy. Other notable examples among the many brave people of conscience that fought for human rights and had no fear to challenge their government are for example Nobel Peace winners and scientists Linus Pauling, Andrei Sakharov, Joseph Rotblat.
