    Most of people teach to to have head high with great posture and try to expose the back.
    The High-C position about Guillotine divide the world!
    But I think you are right for most of the time!

    The last demonstration was not "glue your neck to the leg" - old wrestling only habit is persistent 😅

    Do high crotch takedowns Really work against big people though? Because I always hear that it is a high risk move against bigger opponents due to them being heavy and having having hips which prevents you from effectively finishing the takedown.

      It can be depending on how much bigger they are but I've realized decent success with it. Less risky than a double leg sprawl. Just make sure your head is high and your back is straight when you lift with your legs and if you're remotely strong, you can usually get it

      @@certifiedredditgenius so how much bigger are we talking?

    • @certifiedredditgenius
      @certifiedredditgenius 2 месяца назад +2

      @bladeboytb1 eh, I'm 6 foot, roughly 175 lbs and have tried it with at most a 200 lb opponent. Could probably go heavier but a little too intimidated to try it tbh. It is also different with new guys that are strong vs experienced guys. Experienced guys know to do stuff like stuff the head and force you to a single leg instead.
      If they don't, for me, I probably wouldn't try anyone heavier than 210-220. It is a good takedown if you know about sweeps or even decent technique "slams". You're able to control essentially their whole body and can kind of do what you want.
      Just try it out, maybe get the technique down with lighter opponents or the same size before attempting it on someone a bit bigger.

    So you know when he's faking with his hands, what is he faking? Like what could he try and do if he didnt go for a shoot?

    • @certifiedredditgenius
      @certifiedredditgenius 2 месяца назад +1

      Stuff like a Thai clinch, double underhooks for a body lock, snapdown if he gets both hands behind head, that sort of thing. Most BJJ guys don't know wrestling takedowns so they go for arm drags and stuff like that

    • @Flodz
      @Flodz 2 месяца назад +1

      @certifiedredditgenius appreciate man I'll have a look at some of these, I'm fairly new to bjj myself and I'm just after a few alternatives. Especially after training today, the idea of shooting a single or double on this guy who was like 40kg heavier than me seemed too scary to even try

    • @certifiedredditgenius
      @certifiedredditgenius 2 месяца назад +1

      @Flodz right on man, the beauty of BJJ vs a sport like wrestling is that it isn't all strength and explosiveness, there is a ton of technique involved that works against bigger, stronger, and heavier opponents.
