    JB on here lying. That was a regular double. His blast double is different. Head in the breast plate not even hitting a knee back of his head brushing across his opponents nose and lips for extra punishment.

    For jiu jitsu I aim my forehead at their center because of guillotines. What do you guys do to adjust your double leg for grappling?

    • @noaria13
      @noaria13 7 месяцев назад +2

      He actually tends to do that too. It's odd because most people wouldn't consider this a "blast double" which he is known for. By most accounts, this would just be a standard double leg takedown which he also does but isn't quite the "patented" takedown that he is known for.
      ruclips.net/video/FpYhcmqDZp8/видео.html
      Edit: He does it to suit the explosive nature of the takedown rather than to stave off guilloutine/gogo choke attempts. You're really susceptible to being thrown when you try to drive straight through your opponent with your head outside on a double leg.

    Obviously this guys knows his stuff... I'm wondering however why some coaches say never to reach with the same side as your lead leg to do collar ties. My understanding is that it leaves you vulnerable to throw bys and single legs. Here he collar ties with same side as lead leg, so just trying to understand better.

  • @dylanb2086
    @dylanb2086 6 месяцев назад +1

    Well sure, no one who is one of the Goats of their sport isn’t an incredible athlete.
    John smith definitely had a more finesse focused game and JB used more power.
    I mean JB’s physical attributes are just other worldly - it’s just true.
    For example Kyle Dake - his best attribute is strength and athleticism he id the freak of 74 kg right now - JB was even stronger and made Dake look slow. Grandpa JB going non stop for 10 years was STILL faster than Dake in 2021 trials and Dake had to change his style
    Teach an un athletic guy blast double reshots like Jordan and he’ll be useless - teach him sneaky low singles with technical finishes and he’ll catch some guys for sure. Slow ass ben askren even hits low singles.JB’s style is tech ical sure but it also requires power - I mean running through Andrew Howe across 40 ft of mat - no one was like “ wow why didn’t I think of that before?” Lol
    Don’t get me wrong JB - is knows technique for sure and his mat awareness and match IQ is one of the best. But I think peak 2012/13 burroughs beats any 74kger in history and what would put him past a guy like Saitiev is blasting through
    For the record JB is my favorite US wrestler, pure class and the best ambassador to the sport we have - but the dude is straight up freaky powerful snd thats the truth lol
