Next video on the Tundra I will be showing you all the Westcott Designs lift!! You definitely don't want to miss that one!
If it’s not lifted, can you do a side comparison of it before and after the lift? Would help us see how much of a difference it makes
Picked up my tires today just impatiently waiting for my RR7s! Your videos have helped pass the time keep ‘em coming!
Love that John!!!
Always get a good laugh when i watch your informative videos thanks for that.
No sure if thats good or bad
LOVE THE WAY it looks man! Beast! I’ll probably just keep it like this if it was min and no lift. it just looks bad ass like a bull dog. Lol
Great review Jon, thanks bud
No problem 👍
love that look!
Great video!!! A lot of good info!!!
Question, I just bought the RR-7, can I use the factory wheels lug nuts?
I hope that tundra is still running. All I hear is problems with the 22,23 and 24
Thanks for making this video!!!
No worries!
Jon, I contacted you a while back about 4Runner steering wheel shake. You said yours does it like my 4Runner does. I am wondering if the new Sequoia or your new Tundra has steering wheel shake on the road? I really appreciate you answering these questions. Thank you again
Thanks for the video. Lovin our limited on 35s.
You bet!
Would a +20 offset rub more or less??
This is a question to you or to all truck lovers. I want to put 33x12.50R20 on 2023tundra 1794. I’m using the stock rims. Will I need any trimming or will the tire rub? TIA
Excited for you to get the new Sequoia. Can’t wait. I maybe an owner of one as soon as I can too. 🤓
Heck yes! That would be awesome!
I put 315/70 R18 MT geolandars on my tundra with RC 1.75” and cornfed 1” rear spacer and got slight rubbing but nothing major. Just need to zip tie back some fender liner.
liking it Jon...
Thanks man!
What size of the wheel?
very informative, thanks for sharing, I just bought a Tundra TRD, supper stoked, still waiting for it to be delivered, while shopping I noticed a tundra with a 3" lift and the 35s, def a tougher look for the new Tundra models, im not going to be crazy offroading much so I dont think I will get the 3" lift just got the TRD for safety in the rain and snow trips in Los Angeles area, so I def will get 35s without the lift.
No worries!
Any rubbing??
Запасное колесо 35in в штатное место помещается?
Is that a 17 inch rim are a 18 inch wheel or a 20 inch
Good video man.
Appreciate it!
It looks great man. It looks like the plastic part of the front bumper that wraps into the front fender well,on drivers side is almost cracked off when you pressed on it in the video, I hope I'm just seeing things. Can't wait to see it with the WDs lift
I think you are seeing unless I really messed something up and haven’t noticed yet! Haha
@@TRDJon I hope not, but that bolt holding the the felt on the driver's side at the middle of the bumper inside fender well . When you pushed on it, looked like the whole thing was cracked
Looks 🔥🔥🔥
Just wait till you see it with a lift
@@TRDJon 🤤
Hey Jon what size garage door u have…I’m currently building a nice ranch with a 3 car garage my garage door size are 2 10x8 and 1 9x8 doors just want to make sure I’ll have no issues when I get my new tundra to go in and out np thanks man
if you are building i'd go a big as your budget allows. Always better to have more than not enough. I think 18x8 and 8x8 But I'd love to have a 10-12 foot high door.
Silly question, but did you have to remove the tire to take off that carpet block or could you jus turn the wheel all the way to one side?
Just turned it to the side and was able to access it. Great question.
I saw in a previous comment reply that you dont have to trim the liner it was just that it was already damaged? If you just remove the bracket can you keep the liner? Also do you have to take the wheels off to access bracket?
No you don't, just turn the wheels and you will be golden
Looking forward to seeing it with the lift but gotta say I like it without. Give it a certain BAJA look.
Just wait till you see the lift.... :)
Are you going to Mod the wheel well trim to extend it over the exposed tire, up here, that would not be legal to drive like that, thanks for the info and update. :) NC
Why wouldn't it be? As long as you have proper flats and markers it is
@@TRDJon Over spray on the vehicles behind you, even the trucks I drive require Mud Flaps to prevent that, plus what's it going to be like when you go off-road with it, the mud is going to spray everywhere in all directions with that truck. Extended fender flares I think (personally) would look great on her anyways, just a thought. Tires and rims look nice though. :) NC
I know this was without Level kit from westcott level kit, which I did also just buy. would I need to trim if I do the leveling kit?
Depends on your tires and offset chioce. But this video is old. You don't need to cut all that anymore.
Look forward to seeing the lift with the tires. I imagine a 295-70-18 would have fit without rubbing at 34.5 inches diameter and 11.6 wide. Jon were your wheels as expensive as I think ? about 800.00 smackers each ?
has anyone made a video with 295's?
Hey I know this is an old video but do the 35s rub the upper control arm before the level kit was installed?
Not with the offset I had
If you do the Westcott level kit spacers will it still rub?
No
Does this video also applies to the new TRD Sequoia?
Has softer and shorts suspension. SO I may be closer than this
Can you fit full size spare tire 35” fit under the bed ?
I heard you can, deflated.
Uggghhhh. Glad you are lifting it! I don’t understand people that stuff the wheel wells with tire and leave it,,,,,. If you tried to off-road with this set up, you will likely jam the tires at some point causing huge damage. It’s currently as ugly as the grill!! I’m thinking a nice lift will definitely sharpen up the truck!!! I understand really good lifts don’t exactly exist for the Tundras yet. They don’t have super high sales numbers yet (yet!!) and that’s a bit of a problem for the aftermarket to be overly interested,,,,,,. They will be though!! I like these trucks from every angle except the front grill. There will be some aftermarket bumpers that could sharpen it up a lot,,,, but not without cutting somewhere,,,,,,.
That and the front end suspension is different on this truck so the r&d is still happening
The kid for the video I was about to cut that bracket off lol😂
What did you do about the speedometer issue?
Nothing.
I have a 22 tundra. I have 35s waiting to be put on when my lift kit arrives. if I take off that metal panel, will I be able to ride with the 35s temporarily?
I showed in this video. Not sure what your question is
@@TRDJon for sure. I watched it. I'm ready to go to discount to get my tires put on after I make those adjustments. I guess I just wanted some reassurance lol.
Yea no worries. I was just confused by the question. I didn’t take the passenger side off yet though and you don’t need to cut the liner. I just did cuz it was in bad shape after the mud guards ripped them
Do you think a 34 inch tire with a -12 offset would fit without rubbing? Also with a 17 inch wheel
-12 will poke a bit. How wide?
@@TRDJon 11.2 inches
It may rub a little. I’d do 0mm offset if possible
@@TRDJon thanks for the response! I also am contemplating 2.5 inch leveling kit
What's a ballpark price for the 35s
1300
Are u planning to install the lift soon?
I have it on. I did a video for it as well 👍🏼
But did you drive with it? Everyone knows it rubs more at full lock and reverse then sitting in the driveway.
Yes I have, probably around 150 miles in total before putting the lift on
By zero offset do you mean same a stock? I was always taught to measure offset from mating surface to the inside of the rim.
Looks great, cannot wait for my tundra to arrive. Been waiting since November
No I don't. I mean that is the offset of the wheel itself.
@@TRDJon so the inside of the bolt face is flush with inside of the rim lip??
@@SM-lj2ef zero offset means the hub face is exactly centered in the barrel. I think you’re thinking of backspacing.
Sorry I was confused
@@ALMX5DP yeah I am thinking backspacing. Sorry I didn't realize these were 2 different things. So if a 8" is rim has 4" backspace it is zero offset? Any idea what stock tundra has?? Thanks for your help, trying to do research to put 35's on mine too
FYI for people watching in 2024 you do not have to hack your fender liner. It's been learned that you can pin it back with clips that are included with the Wescott designs 3/1.5 kit. Don't cut anything like what was shown here!
Mine is 35/12.50R18LT still lifted 1.75 inch
Yours 18 or 20?
Please reply me
The rims size and tires size
Then i can order we have the same truck same color please help me out please remember to reply thank you
Are those 17’s or 18’s?
17s
Jon should I keep that two parts just in case because the original stuff? Please reply they took off but they did not give me back to me just asking
Please Jon
What two parts?
@@TRDJon
Brackets
Expensive? They didn’t give me back after they took off
I want to know is that expensive?
Would +20 rub?
Depends on your tire size. It could rub your UCA's or Sway Bar
My tires would be 35x12.5. Do you think it’ll run with +20 offset rims?
This what I’m keep looking for
I thought 33 12 50R20LT
????!!!!! Why
Why what
I don’t like lifted truck
