Inquisitor team is going to use conscripted forces to fill out the team (Breachers, Arbiters, Sisters of Silence, Scions, Vet Guard or Kasrkin) so it will have probably 11-12 models depending on what those numbers are.

I thought in lore, the retinue does much of the grunt work, and the inquisitor leading them only make an appearance to perform the grand reveal or if the situation requires them to be present to enact judgment on a course of action.
Exactly, Inquisitors are often doing higher-level stuff! And this box has an Interrogator, the person that an inquisitor would trust to lead a team like this
As someone who got into 40k via Dark Heresy (ttrpg) the Inquistorial team is exactly what I envision, and yes, I've read the Eisenhorn novels. Inquisitors do entrust Interrogators to lead the team and then come in towards the end, for the most part.

I actually love the Heroes killteam. It's a perfect team for a new player. It's just 7 models, they pick 6 for the game abs bam! Game started. Not like my 20 model intercessor team covering literally every option I could have and then choosing 6.
Interesting to see that it isn't called Space marine heroes anymore but Warhammer heroes instead, I really hope that that means that we will also get models for other factions in the future. Would also be great if they added Terminstors to KT, I'd love to use the ones from SM heroes 2.
I think the artificial scarcity thing is because warehousing costs GW money, and if everybody knows you can only the thing on release - everybody gets the thing on release and it sells out. Certainly a lot of people would wishlist a box and buy it whenever if they expected it to stay available for a while after release - and each day you don't buy it costs storage
22:28 Hey Jay, After doing your base wash of oils on light primer, and then wiping it off. Thin Oil paint covers thick, but if you're trying to paint on top of a surface you've already blended, it only needs to be slightly thinner than the oil paint currently on the model. A way to get that coverage is to let the model sit long enough for the white spirits that are on the model to evaporate, and then use your newly thinned paint on your brush to do whatever you're trying to do. Another thing is that Oil paints when applied can look bumpy. But that's usually excess thinner creating texture. If you let it sit, and evaporate, The paints will flatten out. (Always thin your paints when doing brush work that isn't with a filbert style brush.) This phenomenon is something not many Oil painters deal with because they work on canvas. But we work on hard plastic that doesn't have texture or porous surfaces for excess thinner to run into.
Abteilung 502 oil paints dry faster than regular artist paints, I think. It's funny, though. I see people say that paints don't necessarily matter but all of the top teir painters have massive paint collections. I don't know. It makes me want to try them all.
These single blind boxes i enjoy them. With the $13 one out at the moment because it's something easy my kids can put together one and paint it. This box can provide me single models to create characters in my Crimson Raptors army
I really don’t know much about oil painting for minis but I would guess you would need to do a varnish coat after the oil dries fully. Then start adding regular paint after the varnish is fully dried as well. But like I said I don’t know much about oil mini painting. Is it technically the same thing as regular oil paints that go on canvas? I’m almost certain it’s not!?!
Best thing about oils is wet blending. Because the paint stays wet for so long. You can alternatively try additives to acrylic to make them act like oils. However oils had the most amazing silky butter texture when using them
If next season of KillTeam is fighting in jungle weirdness, I don’t see how they CAN’T makes a KillTeam out of Gaunt’s Ghosts … “we only needed to wait a couple years” seems a common thread in 40k/KT.
I sold mine because i bet on that too, but they would need to add others models to them, and teams with too many sprue become narrative sets as we see in Ashes of Faith
I'd prefer a refresh of the catachan squad so we don't have to see "that" head anymore and an actual decent avenue for more guard units that aren't cadian Also bonus points you can slap in catachan devils for nids

HEY! Don't use acetone to strip models, use 99% isopropyl alcohol, instead. It works better in my experience (even on metal!) and it won't hurt your plastic bases.

The manager at my local warhammer store when they were doing to mystery pins he had up like a trade/"if you didnt get what you want" board where we just swapped our pins for the one we want. I feel like other store managers should do something like that

The idea is that if people feel like right now is the only time they will be able to buy something for a fair price, they will buy it right then and there. It’s only “blind” if you buy one box from that display box that’s already been opened. I’ve done this with the terminator series and the deathguard series. The actual SpaceMarine series (the previous and recent release) are all models from the Barnes n’ Noble SpaceMarine Adventures game board - so you might be able to pick them all up cheaper there - or if you already own it (and both expansions) then you can skip this series altogether.

Retro tyranids for sure! So cool. I legit got a few of the helmetless series 3 heads. I finished up my glooming lords kill team recently. I’d totally sell the extra helmets to you. I used the helmetless heads for the machine gun guy and the flail dude, but I have all the others

It's easy. For your kill team, you choose 6 out of the 7 characters. You can only give 1 leadership to either Captain Justian or to Sergeant Marius. If you chose Capt. Justian with leadership, you can still use Sgt.Marius as a member of your team and select 4 more from the rest. Or you can take out Cpt.Justian or Sgt. Marius, and incorporate the other 5 characters. As long as you only use 6 characters, it's all good.
Pretty sure the warcom article for the inquisition killteam said there is no inquisitor because YOU the player are the Inquisitor sending out your retinue. Also you are supposed to round out the killteam with guardsman or scions for a larger killteam. Also stated in the article.
Use a real inquisitor as the inquisitor or rogue traders from the blackstone fortress. Inquisitors often use rogue traders as cover stories as they can also move freely and have authority and resources
Is the heroes box a good way to dip my toe into killteam? Been wanting to paint a space marine for a while (only play bloodbowl and am starting with warcry). Or would you recommend something else for a space marines beginner?
GW should do the random buy mini option like they have with the space marine kill team for everything. Each preconstructed killteam has like 3/5ths of all the models you have an option for in that kill team. Then a random buy that is one of the rest of the 2/5ths.
I saw you at Adepticon, even accidentally wandered through your shoots a couple times i think. 😂 Didn't realize you were that in to kill team as i didnt see you playing in any of the events. Even if you dont want to do the GT or teams you should sign up for pods next year at least so i can try to get a game in!
I feel that given the recent popularity of them we could've had a world eater version of space marine heroes series 4 with unique sculps. Or maybe a nine box series edition that has one of each of the nine chaos legions
You pretty much got the reason why few adeptus mechanicus players have the GW electro priests right, they don't fit in well with the rest of the army and they have to much flesh (ewww) although people kitbash their own custom ones, for example I've seen somebody use the necromunda ash wastes gang models with adeptus mechanicus heads and electro priest weapons to make a proxy.
Re: the Blind Box Kill Team -- I believe (but I'm not 100% here) that you get one of each model in every store display box, so if you buy a full display box, you'll have the full team + extra copies of some models
my hope for the inquisitor box when it gets a stand alone release is instead of including the conscript forces it just includes another sprue of the inquisitors to make all the options

i tired buying some necromunda for a kitbash care, they minis seem to be a tiny bit smaller to the other ranges at least I Frond the "Escher Death-maidens and Wyld Runners" very small.

in defence of the inquisitorial guys not coming with an inquisitor, I guess it's so you are free to pick your own one. Plenty of inquisitors have lower level agents and acolytes off on missions without them.
12:50 my lgs has space marines heroes s1 and what they do is you can buy the singles or buy the whole box so how every they logistic it I think that's what other stores will do
I own an Admech army, which in and of itself is a complete money sink- Even I wouldn't be caught dead buying Electro Priests. $55 MSRP for *5* guys, even for GW prices they are blatantly taking advantage of anyone who gets these. No- what you buy instead is the Tzeentch Kairic Acolytes from AOS, $60 MSRP for 20 'Electro Priests' All you got to do is remove the Tzeentch Iconography, add Ranger or Vanguard heads which you have plenty of as an Admech player, and some other Admech-esk bits such as tubes/bulbs/ect. And there you have it 240 points *Edit, Please give us Admech boys some love for the Killteam pick

Commercial warehouse space is not particularly expensive, this stuff is easier and cheaper to store than commodities like corn.

You might try acrylic base coating then using your oils as filters.
I love making personality in my kill teams even giving each member names so this warhammer heros set really allows me to make personalized marines 😊

The Necromunda Hive Scum box is what I built my current Inquisitor retinue from. Good idea there.

What do you think about using Blackstone Fortress characters as replacements for Ashes of Faith boring sculpts?
I love the old school nids too and have been looking for the old warriors. I have spare gaunts though.

They said at the reveal that if you buy a complete box of the SM killteam you get all the operators plus one extra.

So have you ever played killteam? Most of the options are limited to just 1 so there will be no nonsense of 6 captains
@eonsofbattle I have five metal 2nd edition termagants (fleshborer) not the spike rifles. Would you be interested? FYI the other guns you had were Strangleweb guns.
Oh and one other question about Kill Team. So Kill Team is 6-8 models in a army, right?!? If so could I just take (let’s just say) 6-8 Space Marines from my other army and use them to play a Kill Team game? I would think so but I never played it!

in defence of the inquisitorial guys not coming with an inquisitor, I guess it's so you are free to pick your own one. Plenty of inquisitors have lower level agents and acolytes off on missions without them.

I own an Admech army, which in and of itself is a complete money sink- Even I wouldn't be caught dead buying Electro Priests. $55 MSRP for *5* guys, even for GW prices they are blatantly taking advantage of anyone who gets these. No- what you buy instead is the Tzeentch Kairic Acolytes from AOS, $60 MSRP for 20 'Electro Priests' All you got to do is remove the Tzeentch Iconography, add Ranger or Vanguard heads which you have plenty of as an Admech player, and some other Admech-esk bits such as tubes/bulbs/ect. And there you have it 240 points

Oils work best thick over thin. there is a lot going on there you don't have to think about with acrylics
