How WTO KILLED Nepali Garment Industry

  • 25 years ago, there was a booming garment industry in Nepal that brought in more than $200 million in a year. The directly employed worker reached almost a lakh people but just a decade later, it all came crashing down. From the dizzying heights in 1999 to the demise post 2005 but what exactly happened?
Unlike other industries that failed in Nepal whose primary cause was politics and mismanagement, the fall of this industry lies beyond our border. Sit back and lets dive in.

Hats off to the entire team 👏👏👏 Going through piles and piles of book, resources, papers and others to make such a precise form into a short video with all the important facts and information is not an easy task. Being in this industry, it feels sad to use imported goods and serve the local market for existence.
