Overcrowded party in a small flat, nail polish fell on the floor and a lit cigarette set it off, nothing to do with arson or racists, fail to see why this is societies fault.
As for the march, held on a Monday rather than a weekend with the specific aim of causing disruption and conflict, citizens robbed and beaten, and a jewellers looted.
Why are we celebrating this 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I admire people who are black for their tenacity, strength and honour. What they have gone through and still go through everyday and still come out fighting holding their heads up high is something I hope everyone of us living a privileged life because we were “lucky” enough to be born with a diff skin colour which meant we don’t have to look over our shoulders ever five mins, don’t panic thinking we are going to die every time a cop stops us and finding jobs easier or not followed around stores., start appreciating things what our friends with different skin colour have gone through because of white people. I hope they also take the time to learn black history and do more to be anti racist and to stop racism once and for all because we are one race
, the human race, vand are all connected to each other.
( disclaimer :-judt in cases do done thinks badly of me writing “lucky”- I’m not saying I’m lucky to be born white. I meant it in a white priv stance way hence the “ “ around the word)

It’s painful for me to see white people so ashamed of themselves. This movie is perpetuating lies that the fire was caused by a white racist when in reality the fire started inside the building by someone at the party.

@@jimmynegatron4619 where did I say I was ashamed? I’m not ashamed of me. I’m anti racist. Always have been always will be. Just because I’m aware white people have privilege in the lives we lead doesn’t mean I’m ashamed of myself. There’s very little chance my ancestors had slaves and if they did I’d be ashamed of them and not myself. I am happy with my morals as I know I’m gonna be on the right side of history.
As far I have seen in the trailer , and I’ve watched it twice, there is no accusation a white person did it. What it is a movement was started because of the way they were treated and pushed aside by the police and told to forget about it. The movement grew from there.

I don’t remember any of this. I was raised in the sixties and seventies in the Midlands. My best friend in junior school was black, we won every three legged race at school and went carol singing together, scrumping together. She was welcomed into my house and I into hers for tea. My group of friends in senior school were a mixture of white, black and Asian. We all hung out together. College was the same. I never once saw any racism of any kind. I know it happened but I would like to think it was rare and only in certain areas. This was my experience.

@@LorraineTapper Lorraine, I moved away as did a few of them and we lost touch. Throughout our childhood I don’t ever remember race being an issue and at college we were just too busy fooling around and going to the pub. I dated an Asian lad in the early eighties but it didn’t work out. He said he’d encountered racism in the shop he worked in but he said he wouldn’t let it bother him and just ignored it. Our friends were a mixed married couple with two mixed race children. As families we all holidayed together over many years in England, Scotland, France and Portugal. We were stared at many, many times but they were not staring at our friends and their children, they were staring at my son....he is severely mentally disabled.
Our friend sadly died a few years ago and she told me that even though she had experienced racism in the past, as each year went by it was getting better and that there wasn’t any other country she would rather live in. I miss her every day.

This is one of the saddest comments ever - if you grew up in the 70s and had black friends but never saw any racism then with respect you were blind. If you say you grew up in the 90s then maybe I could understand but the 70s and early 80s no chance. Britain was a horrendous place to grow up as a black man in the 70s - and I can guarantee you that it was not a rare occurrence.

@@rufdymond my friends were children, not adults. Maybe “the racists” were kinder to children! I can only say what I experienced and witnessed whilst hanging out with my friends. I have no reason to lie. I moved away at 18/19, and lost touch with them. I do not ever remember an incident of racism nor do I recall ever having to comfort one of them because they told me they had experienced a racist incident. For me to say that during my adult life I had never heard a racist comment....well, that would be a lie, because I have. And when I have heard one, I’ve condemned it. My children have been raised to treat everyone the same and to show respect to honest, hardworking people irrespective of colour, religion or sexual preference.
