I recently did the exact same thing swapping the movement out on a Howard Miller clock I have here at the house. One thing I learned from watching your video, I need to get one of those wire bending tools and a set of those spacers. That would definitely make it easier when I have to do things like this again. Nice video! Thanks for posting it.

Nice! I'll thoroughly enjoy learning about doing this myself someday. Have you made any videos of taking movements apart to clean/oil them and install new parts?
Wow liked this , searched in google about floating balance , got this really awesome 😮. Hope you also post videos on how to repair or oil up automatic or mechanical watches wrist watches .
Would you mind showing us how to tune a set of random chime rods that didn't arrive as a set? My clock has 2 broken rods and I got some new rods that need to be installed and tuned. How do I determine what the proper notes should be? And what is the best way to cut these to the right lengths?
Hello. Excellent video ! I bought a clock similar to this off EBay but that horizontal circular like pendulum won’t stay ticking. I have wound the clock and I take my finger And swing it towards the plus side and it starts ticking but then after a minute or 2 stops. Can you tell me what to do ?
One additional question please : I’m used to the swinging pendulums. What is this bracket/mantle clock horizontal type pendulum style called ? Does it have a different name ?
Fascinating. So glad I've found your channel. I recently purchased a 2000 Hermele mantle clock from ebay here in the UK. Your tips are excellent. My wife complains the Westminster chimes are too loud. I have laid a thin piece of kitchen tissue under the hammers on the chime bars. Works a treat. Much quieter, unless there is a proper method that you know of? 😄
i have a clock just like that in mint condition was a General motors gifted clock. im more into watchmaking and would love to sell it to get more watchmaking tools
Thanks a lot for posting this! I'm preparing to replace a hermle 130-020. But hermle is new to me. A new movement is not cheap. Your video's really help me get the confidence to make the plunge! I was wondering. Do the new works come pre oiled / lubed? Or does that depend on the seller. Thanks again!
Hi! I recently purchased a a forestville mantle clock with this exact movement. It appears to keep time well but the hour hand is misaligned backwards (e.g. the clock will strike the hour, but the hour hand shows approximately quarter to the hour). I attempted to remove the hour hand to adjust the placement, but it has proven to be very difficult to remove by hand, unlike in your video where the hands easily popped off. Any suggestions on why the hand might be stuck and how to remove it?
I have the same clock, but I see there is a problem with the spring is not attached at the top, plus the time is off , I can't seam to get some advice or anyone in my area to get some help , thank you for your information

Thanks for the tip on the dial arbor stabilizers. I'm in the process of rebuilding a Howard Miller Bellingham Mantel Clock for my mother-in-law and I was wondering how in hell I was going to get it centered in the clock face. Learn something new every day!
Somehow it doesn't seem like I can edit my message but obviously the price of the movement wonder if there are any markups and what the labor charge should be if a guy was starting a clock shop
Nice of you to film this. Thank you.
Really enjoyed watching this thank you. I have just been given a unicorn clock with the same movement. Mine was made in 62. Thanks Mark

@@JRCLOCKER thanks I'll get a set on order
Transfer the bracket positions by tracing them onto a sheet of paper. Then you can put the new movement on the paper and line brackets up perfectly.
Good idea 👍

The hour hand is just pressure fitted on to the shaft, so you can move it to the hour the clock is chiming.

Hi, Not sure what the issue is. Please send more info and pictures to; jrclocker@gmail.com
Can you tell me how to adjust the music barrel after it has been reinstalled? Thanks
Good idea for a video!! Let me work on it. Stay tuned.
Thanks look forward to it.@@JRCLOCKER
Do these New works need to be oiled before installation? If not, would it be a generally good idea anyway?
They do not need to be oiled, but generally oiling them before installation can be a good idea.
I recommend oiling them because you don’t know how long they have been lying horizontal.
Дякую вам за працю 😊❤
Where can I get the tool you are using to set chime bar

I'm trying to find a Hermle glockenspeil from 1950, is it rare?
Where do I order a set of the spacers?

Wondering what a clock shop would charge to replace a movement...

@@ronmccarty7537 on this movement we charge $450 and it comes with a three-year warranty
