I managed to check it out as you suggested - very good, excellent musicians and it works with the voice. My personal taste - it's a bit too heavy for me. It's great and I would be happy to listen to one song at a time like this, but I wouldn't be able to listen for a long time, cos it's just a bit too heavy for my personal taste. They are great though.

“That part was prerecorded.” Umm… the entirety of the audio was prerecorded. The live audio was replaced with the studio version, leaving only the visuals as being live. They’re hardly the only band that have labels/management advertising “official live video” despite it not having the actual live audio, but it’s a trend I don’t like. And to be clear, I don’t think the bands themselves are involved in these shenanigans.
That said, I really like their album - it’s packed with strong material. I just hope they have some staying power. The singer Mio is focused on Mellows, but Gina and especially Sally are still working with other bands/projects and it’s unclear how they view Mellows in the context of all the other stuff they have going on. And it’s a bit concerning that they don’t have a full-time drummer and bassist sorted out yet. They have the two guys that played on the album and play live with them, but Mio also admits she doesn’t include them in any of the marketing because they don’t fit the image she’s going for.

@@OldMrB I watched your interview with Sally after seeing one of the other comments on this video mentioning it. Very nice interview btw! But no, you didn’t get into where Mellows goes from here. I guess to be fair, it did get a little derailed when Tom misunderstood the name of the album and thought it was the Japanese word for “erotic” rather than Alloy as in metal :)
