+Ethan truth True, yet China had the second biggest casualty rate in the entire war, right after Soviet Union. But you hear next to nothing about a war in China that lasted for 14 years with some quiet times (1931-1945). If there was no war in China, Japan could press the Soviet Union from the east (and tie those Siberian divisions that defeated Germans in 1941) and fortify the islands much better. Soviet Union might have lost the war and the war with the USA would drag on, maybe even to a stalemate as the combined German-Japanese power might be a bit too much. Yet, because of politics, you do not hear anything about China in the war. Pity.

I'm finishing up an 8-week world history class as a new freshmen in high school. It is very popular at my school to take world history over the summer since you need to have it done by sophomore year. We covered basically everything starting with early civilizations and now we're at the world wars. We have one more week left (4 days), but we're working on a presentation. People are doing topics from the Cold War all the way to today. I got to pick my topic (the Cuban revolution), and even though I can't use your video as a source, it really helped me. I told my teacher about this video so hopefully he'll show my class. I love history, but I don't think I'll be taking it for another couple of years. But your videos have really helped me out a lot
I would be very happy, along with other people, if you did a video about "Warsaw Uprising" in 1944. The "AK" - Warsaw's combatants (civilians) - formed the biggest underground army in the history of war and the whole city rose up to liberate Warsaw from the Germans, who were killing several hundred civilians a day. They only had ammo and supplies for 3 days of fighting as they awaited for help from the Russians who were just on the other side of the river. However the Russians stopped there and waited, so the AK fought alone for 63 days until they were defeated.
marios gianopoulos Exactly, people like those civilians are true heroes. I know Greek people are warriors, ancestors of the Spartans ;). The Allies helped France and even North Africa but left countries like Greece or Poland to fight alone.

In the video there was a sentence about the battle of Stalingrad that I think needs a little bit more info: "Germany would not reach any further east". Germans didn't advance any further east after the battle, but the most eastern point captured by the Axis powers in The Soviet Union was "the Reference Point 701" in Malgobek, which was captured by the Finnish Volunteer Battalion of the Waffen-SS (Finnisches Freiwilligen-Bataillon der Waffen-SS). The point was captured on October 6th 1942, while the battle of Stalingrad was on it's full force.

Amazed to see how we'll you're doing so far on the history videos front! Maybe if someone commissioned you to diagram textbooks... never mind, you're still great!
Either that or Nigel Thornberry... no I don't know British political leaders. Nationalism and xenophobia is the hot new trend all over the world right now. If the economy gets worse (Which as Britain has shown, it's easy to do) then we could realistically have many different nazi countries... so to speak. Considering how much technology has advanced we have the potential to create a genocide to end all genocides. Also considering that a huge drive of the holocaust was just... not giving a fuck, it could very easily happen again. It's just human nature. Though we also have the internet now, so it'd be harder to make the mistake the Jews did, not fighting back and hoping it blows over. At the same time cameras are everywhere and it's literally possible to use a sound weapon to blow your brains out (Though more practical to just collapse your lungs) Sooooooo... we're fucked. I'd say head to Canada, but chances are the U.S. would just nuke 'em as Russia says "Good riddance" since Putin and Trump are BFFs. Though we won't know until it happens!
No, it's an accurate assessment of an historical figure and political climate. It reminds us of Trump because it's comparable; which is, and should be, alarming.
jeff thomas trump isn't a nazi he is defending your country I live Europe I have seen the Paris attack I feel threat of Islam invading Europe open your eyes! off course not every thing what he said is right true that but think about you heard about the bombs in new york and around you all know 9/11 what happened that day. the predictions and wishes of the Quran are to create one huge islamic caliphate open your eyes take a look at the fragments in Israel and syria also lybia, Iraq and Afghanistan open your eyes sort it out instead of complaning about trump and republicans that are nazi in your eyes.... read more REAL information not wikipedia they politicial left take a neutral site not cnn or fox and other media read the facts about....then you will have the full right to complain!!!
In a series on DVDs, an Architect mentioned that that very big domed building that Hitler wanted could not have been constructed anyway, because the dome was way too large, and the ground too weak and unstable.
Technically Canada wasn't fully independent by the time of WW2, it was a semi-independent Dominion like Australia or New Zealand. In fact it was also a Dominion in WW1, not a colony
great vids man. you should try doing each video in a different accent. that would be really interesting, and good practice for your accents. just a thought. keep up the good vids dude, they're really helpful in my history class.
I'm not sure if anybody's picked up on this, but: Point 1 is incorrect. The agreement which decided the fate of Poland was the Nazi-Soviet Pact. The agreement discussed in this video, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, was between the Soviets and Finland. It's where the name for the 'Molotov cocktail' comes from, as both Molotov and Ribbentrop got really drunk during negotiations, which led to Ribbentrop giving away Finland to the Soviets.
I enjoyed watching this video, but the bias at the end took away from some of it. A video about history shouldn't be biased in my opinion, but if it has to be, the other's point of view should be included, even if the creator disagrees with it. This way it appeals better to both audiences, instead of just one. I see a few comments that disagree with the bias, with much more backlash then one's agreeing with it, which also bothers me. Everyone should look at both sides of an issue, instead of their own. If you are going to disagree with someone, look and see if they have a point, and give them some credit for it. It's more respectful and nicer.
I'm all for looking at both sides of the argument. I do my best to keep bias out of it, but there's only so much balance I can toward racism, xenophobia, injustice etc (in general). Each video I make, I strive to strike a good balance. The comments helps me see that too. Thanks for commenting!
John D Ruddy Thank you for replying! The message your video gave was good, it just felt a little biased to me. I'm glad you are trying to keep it balanced though. Also, I noticed some of the other people who are speaking out against bias are being very rude about it, and it must be very annoying. I hope I didn't come across the same way.
Spyblox007 I'm legitimately curious at what bias you were talking about? are you talking about the point he made at the end about basically not repeating history? If you are care to explain
Could you do history of Yugoslavia? Or a timeline of events for the Yugoslav wars? It's kind of a personal subject for me since a lot of my relatives fought and died in that war and my brother was born in the middle of Mostar while it was being bombed, and between first hand accounts and the general history I find myself a little confused over some of the events and belligerents. I like these videos because they make things a whole lot easier to deigest and the little bits of comedy do a lot to help keep it light. Keep it up!
Does anyone else just love how Poland looked before World War II? It just looks so weird and blobby. I just want to give it a big hug, and when i squeeze it all of the goop inside would flow straight to the top, and I could jiggle it around in my arms all day.
number 11 the first allied victory against the axis happened at the greco-italian war when greece actually defeated italy and albania with only few ar support by the british (why nobody mentions that)
I've got an idea for a new video for you. Have you ever heard of the Australian Eureka Rebellion? I think it would be a pretty good topic for a video and won't take to long to cover!
I really liked the ending on how he said we shouldn't be worried about this version of hitler but this version instead and how we shouldn't walk right in to a trap blindfolded...
i noticed that finland was drawn as an axis power on the map at 3:10. finland was not actually an axis power as it never signed the tripartite pact. germany basically came crawling to finland for help because they had a common enemy. hitler tried to downplay the dire position germany was in, karl mannerheim knew this because he lit a cigar in front of hitler and was not asked to put it out. as far as i know, finland's role in the war mainly revolved around russia, which finland became independent from around wwi.
For countries in the axis you could technically put both Finland and Iraq in it. Finland joined in operation Barbarossa to retake lands, even though they didn’t fully join the axis because of political reason they were a de facto member. Iraq also fought the British under German encouragement and allowed axis aircraft to use their airbases in 1941
I find it sad that a lot of the allied countries aren't mentioned as 'allies' in school. They barely even mention Canada or China.

At the same time cameras are everywhere and it's literally possible to use a sound weapon to blow your brains out (Though more practical to just collapse your lungs)
Sooooooo... we're fucked.
Jeff Thomas Pretty alarming, but hopefully it doesn't escalate. After all he should be gone in 2021.
Yes, because this video is propaganda.
In fact it was also a Dominion in WW1, not a colony
basically dont vote trump
THANK YOU!

Change your name and profile pic to one of your drawings and your subs will go up.
great vids man. you should try doing each video in a different accent. that would be really interesting, and good practice for your accents. just a thought. keep up the good vids dude, they're really helpful in my history class.
I'm not sure if anybody's picked up on this, but:
Point 1 is incorrect.
I feel like that last bit might as well have been addressed to Trump supporters. :P
I can't help but think this video's ending message is aimed primarily towards us Americans *COUGH*DonaldTrump*COUGH*
+MagnuMagnus We can't forget the frame of that United States of Europe.
Ronan I was referring more to the rise of charismatic dictators in troubled times.
***** So, not voting for anyone?
+MagnuMagnus John kasich.
+Begottenzulu 1776 lol
I think he was suggesting Trump at the end
Nah just the idea of the 'strongman' promising to fix all the nation's problems
love your work man.very accurate and to the point.especiallt the American civil WAR.you told the truth Bro!! no sugar coating.
Make more, I absolutely love these videos
"Don't walk blindfolded into another catastrophe" is this a little dig at Donald Trump?
It's a little dig in general
Shupu12 why would it be?
John D Ruddy "we will make Germany Great again"
Shupu12 Ronald Reagan had the same phrase and he didn't cause WW3
KillerAsh well Reagan wasn't racist
Spyblox007 Where the fuck was the bias?
B0st0nBru1ns I felt that I saw some at the end.
Spyblox007 I'm legitimately curious at what bias you were talking about? are you talking about the point he made at the end about basically not repeating history? If you are care to explain
Sir, I think you missed some holocaust victims, it would be a pleasure if you respond to this comment.
+John D Ruddy thanks for the fast response, I will check that video out. :D
+Tomatocraft you're welcome! Thanks for watching!
up the rebels!
+Tomatocraft Biggest hoax in history of war.
Keep it up!
On a completely different topic I feel like the way he said "Number 9" is a reference to Revolution 9
cof cof Donald Trump cof cof
just mention Trump by name why don't we.
Lame huh
You can tell that this video is trying to warn Americans about Trump.
+Kevin De Souza I was thinking the same thing o_o
Trump is literally better for nobody.
+Assailant this is true. I've meet a lot of people with nobodic decent and they claim that Trump is the best choice for presidency
Don't worry, Donald Trump could never be elected. 62% of Americans say would never vote for him.
+Samuel Ng agreed, I wanted. Rand Paul
It woulda been awkward if someone came in when drawing the little clip at 3:55. Good job though dude, keep it up.
amazing work, keep it up. how about making a clip on english civil war next?
this man is a savior...having AP Exams all this and next week
glad you mentioned simo häyhä he's my favorite man in history because he was such a badass sniper
thanks for posting this
Great I can't wait see more of your videos 😄
Does anyone else just love how Poland looked before World War II? It just looks so weird and blobby. I just want to give it a big hug, and when i squeeze it all of the goop inside would flow straight to the top, and I could jiggle it around in my arms all day.
number 11 the first allied victory against the axis happened at the greco-italian war when greece actually defeated italy and albania with only few ar support by the british (why nobody mentions that)
Hey John. Do you know when the next history video would be released?
You should also look into The Great Siege Of Malta and Operation Pedestal, would make for great WW2 stories :)
4:00 A good massage!
Thanks for the video
And here i am just happy that Australia got a mention and wasn't confused with Austria.
I've got an idea for a new video for you. Have you ever heard of the Australian Eureka Rebellion? I think it would be a pretty good topic for a video and won't take to long to cover!
When are you going to make a civil war? Your RUclips channel help me learn more history than school did.
Your videos are great and you should also do the Korean War, keep up the good work Rudy
Your videos are fantastic
Hahaha the camo index, brilliant.
Do you still upload videos on this channel if not then please continue I love your videos
Oh I do!!! I'm working on some at the moment! The pictures take time to draw though and life inevitably gets in the way! Thanks for the support!!
+John D Ruddy you deserve more subs we all watched your videos in history class
This man has so much potential. It must be hard making the Civil War and Vietnam because he lives far away from the U.S. and Vietnam
