This KB has all the B&B sounds most everyone uses, and a lot of other sounds that would be useful. I particularly like the Pads. The Pianos are really impressive, considering its main theme is organ. There's a lot to like with this KB. Great Demo Daniel!
I bought my keyboard used, but was able to buy these directly from sweetwater for $30 or something about a year ago. Not sure if they still sell them as a standalone option as some of the links above are dead. I finally got around to loading them to the keyboard and they are pretty cool. Now my VR-09 has a lot more stored sounds I can choose from. These seem like really useful patches for a "cover band" situation too. Glad I grabbed them.
I'm going for Roland Juno DS it has everything I need for my studio needs. And besides that I'll run it into BigSky and Timeline then into Rupert Neve DI box straits into my audio interface and DAW. And I am good to go.
Great organs, EP, clav, and that alto sax was very nice. Piano sounded good too, and accordion. But didn't really hear enough of what I'm looking for: authentic brass and strings, reed/orchestral, and especially solo instruments.
Hi JBoz Radio. I think you'll find everything you're looking for in a Roland JUNO-DS: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JunoDS61--roland-juno-ds61-61-key-synthesizer
I have this keyboard and love it. I usually have a pad on the left hand and electric piano on the right playing along to one of the rhythms. Need to create some registrations so i can layer two different electric piano sounds.
It's a great sounding board, and I don't mind the slightly thin keys too much, but the drawbar knobs pop off like nothing. I've been abusing my VK-7 for a decade and it's still rock solid (mostly...)
Absolute best drawbar keyboard with GREAT pianos and a decent Leslie effect for under $900. I've had the SK1 from Hammond, the XK series (1 and 3c), Kurzweil (still love their strings and most orchestral instruments), and this board is absolutely the best possible choice for those of you out there who focus on meat-and-potatoes classic rock, even jazz. Frankly the faux Hammond B3 is as good--if not "better" ("thicker"? cuts through the mix better?) than my most recent attempt using the SK1. And it definitely has the Hammond beat as far as the piano, horns, reeds, etc.
So is this update Library only available when I buy a new VR-09 from Sweetwater? I recently got one from another Source, which didn't even come with the promised iPad Application Download instructions. (Damn) AND what add-on Library I did find was plastered with Warnings that adding it would totally wipe out all the original Factory Settings. This makes me very nervous of course.
Hi Mike, There are several "updates" associated with the VR-09. One is an OS update from Roland that adds some new samples. The one I'm demonstrating is from Sweetwater that adds all the new presets I'm playing. Mine simply shifts all of the Factory Presets to the end Banks and puts our new stuff at the beginning Banks. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the reply. It also begs the question as to exactly how many of the 100 (4x25) available Factory-Set "Registrations" are in use out-of-the-Box. Do I really need (the added expense) of an iPad App / Interface to make this lovely Keyboard even better? The Pipe Organ is not a standard (unbelievably) and I would welcome THAT on-board in an instant !! I managed to get a gloriously filthy, gutsy Rock Organ from adjusting the on-board settings, but again I fear I run the risk of wiping the whole set of Registrations if I try to Name and Save it. The User Manual from Roland is sadly inadequate, and similarly, Roland themselves only tell me to refer to it. No help at all really... which is astonishing. Yes... I'm a nervous Novice - which is embarrassing for a very logically-minded person such as myself.
Hello, i own a VR730 and is a great keyboard, the bigger sister of VR09, i love those sounds but it seems is not possible in any way to buy them from Italy, as for the Roland Gaia sounds that i also own in my setup. Is there a way to purchase these sounds from Italy? The website is clear about that, so i wonder if is some other possibility to buy them
What is that you put in there and doesn't it come with that wonderful organ sound. Or does it come with the USB that you put in there. I hope I don't need a computer?
Do you have a Video showing how to MIDI a VR-09 as a Master Keyboard to another Keyboard of a different manufacturer to be the Slave Keyboard. I am trying to MIDI my VR-09 to a older Casio CT-670 I have owned from I believe 1990. Connected the MIDI cable to the MIDI out socket on my VR-09 to the in MIDI Socket on the Casio CT-670. It doesn’t work. Went into Menu on the VR-09 to Midi and bank one and set the Casio to bank one MIDI. The Casio only plays what is in the Casio Keyboard and through its speakers that come in the Casio Keyboard. The VR-09 plays like it should through the detached amplifier on the floor. I am out of ideas. They don’t seem to be communicating. I haven’t tried to call Roland as of yet to see if they could point out what I am doing wrong. Was hoping to find a answer on You Tube. If you could point me in the right direction whether you have a answer for me or to someone that might it is surely appreciated.

i just got the Roland vr-09, now there are some great patches on the srx-07 that i would like on my new keyboard! is there a way roland can isssue more updates or bring in sounds via thumb drives. there are some cool organ patches 60;s 70s sounds
Hi Kshitij, internal speakers can be found in Korg pianos, such as the SP-280 Digital Stage Piano, and arrangers, such as the Pa600 61-key Arranger Workstation. Thanks for watching!
Hi Sweet Crystal, Yes, the Sweetwater-exclusive thumb drive with the sound library, manuals, help guides, video, and system update (that adds new Electric Pianos, and Jupiter 8 Leads and Pads) comes free with a new VR-09 purchase. Thanks for watching!
Whoa. Please don't purchase these sounds! You'd basically be getting User Registrations that you can make on your own. Just look at the screen in the video and see what voices and effects he's using. Most of them aren't even all that different from the user presets that come with the VR-09. Not hating on Daniel, but spending $30 for sounds you already have baffles me.
Very nice soundset, but i asked many times iby email f i could purchase this soundset and the Roland Gaia soundset from Italy even as download if no possible to ship the USB keys (that would be very strange that would be no possible) but Never had answers from sweetwater
Hi Joe, there are lots of additional sounds available on the VR-09. If you go to Roland's website you can download the VR-09_Datalist that shows all of them. If you look at the display screen at 10:10 you can see that I made it from Gospel Organ 3 and Pipe Organ 3, with Pipe Organ 3 one octave higher. Thanks for watching!
Hello! That's a great question, as both of those keyboards are fantastic! Rather than spewing a bunch of features and specs back at you, give me a call and we can discuss how these two differ. I've played with both and we can figure out which might be the most appropriate for you. Thanks for your interest! Hi Dunno Anyone. I'm not allowed to add any more keyboards to my live rig until I pick out just the right cape to wear with them. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
I could watch this guy demo sounds all day long.
Love the Sheep demo on the Vintage EP setting!
Daniel Fisher can make any product shine.

Inspirational, fabulous sounds- and it won't break the bank 👍
What a great Bonus addition to the VR09 so many fantastic sounds for all genres..wow!
Thank you Daniel Fisher! Just received my VR-09 and while I can't play near as well as you it sure is a blast using the SW sound banks.
Je l' ai acheté en début d'année et j'en suis pas déçu.

kingstumble yeah, doesn't sound like that when I play it 😂
Awesome organ, piano, and harmonica sounds.
My VR-09 is coming from Sweetwater within a couple weeks- so stoked!
Are you still loving it?
OMG, the last tone is the tune from The Ghost and Mr. Chicken!!!! Freaking Awesome!!

As if Sheep wasn’t good enough, The Ghost and Mr Chicken has sold me!

Such a beautiful Player...

sick sounds, whoa
Just fantastic great player and product

Hi Arie Fds Esprit. I have used this keyboard in many gigging situations and have enjoyed playing many of its sounds. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Excellent demo
Awesome demo Daniel.. My playing would make this $999.00 keyboard sound like it cost $99.00 lol

4:50 fantastic harmonica blues
Thanks, Marcio! Here's an entire video showing the tricks I use to do that: ruclips.net/video/NOLNg0tl9KI/видео.html
@2:02 Even a good Pipe Organ sound? Love it! :-)
9:30 sweet lord that choir!!!!
it really sounds great but how can people like me who already have the roland vr09 get these sounds?
Freaking sweeeeet at 7:04 man!!!
I can't decide between this or the Vox Continental. This this sounds ok and has some good features but the Vox simply looks so much cooler!
Check out the Crumar mojo 61
Wow - with one of these, could I play as great as Daniel? Um, no. But it's a terrific demo!
Daniel is the programming God! Look up what he did with the Kurzweil K2000 20 years ago! Darkside....
Sounds realistic
Great performer
Dan! You're great... :D
Perhaps I should watch videos of the keyboards I already have and still be wowed
Not a bad effort. I just bought one of these so I hope I can be just as good at playing it eventually.
amazing!
