Oh, yes. Once I finished Picture Show I didn’t feel like reading anything else for a while. I didn’t want anything to get in the way of what the book did. All of McMurtry’s books seem to be that way.

It really is. “Leaving Cheyenne” is similar and I personally would recommend it more strongly. I’ve never been disappointed by anything McMurtry wrote.
