(429) ACRYLIC POURING - Ring and Ribbon Technique Using Liquitex Basics Fluid Paints

- My testing of the Liquitex fluid paints wouldn't be complete without trying them on my ring and ribbon technique! I was pleased with the results and even though I kept saying I thought the mix was too thin, I'm rethinking that. The lines kept their shape pretty well. Colors and recipe used are detailed below.

Todays colors: Liquitex Basics Acrylic Fluid in Dioxazine Purple, Magenta Deep, Cad Orange and White. Mixed four parts of the following medium to one part paint.
Pouring Medium (Dan Hodges' Recipe):
3 Parts Floetrol
3 Parts Minwax Polycrylic
2 Parts Glue/Water Mix (3:1)

That center part really looked 3D and the colors are pretty.

There's so many layers of depth in the painting, and these colors are really holding up great!
They dried well, even this thin, which surprised me!

They actually did hold pretty well, but the painting is no more.

Hi Chris! I hope you are well! I LOVE the depth that using the purple, the magenta, plus the purple and magenta mixed together layered created! Very pretty! If you have a little bit of gel medium laying around maybe mix it with your fluid paints and that will bulk it up to create a thicker consistency (more like a regular tube paint) before you add your medium. Or just add more glue like you said. ☺ It did look a little bit thin and moving a little fast to me too, but you made it work and I think the painting turned out FANTASTIC!🥰 Going to watch your newer video now to see (if you show it) how it dried.☺ I don't mean to keep repeating myself, but I absolutely LOVE your ring & ribbons AND your dutch pours. The dutch pour dried amazing!🤩 All such bright vivid amazing colors as well! Ty for sharing these beautiful creations!! Much love my friend!🤗❤
