So glad you cleared that whole "how to find North" using a watch thing up. LOL I'm not sure what if anything militaries do in 2023 (ET call home... on your SAT phone?) but when I did my RCAF Land Survival Course back in the mid 80s, we were in fact, required to show that we could navigate using our wrist watch. Back then of course we also used paper maps, Jeppesen computers (round slide-rule-like device similar to the one a downed aviator might find on a Breitling Navitimer), and could add, subtract, divide and multiply using our heads- all skills unheard of in the modern day ;)
Displaying aptitude and intelligence in modern education is considered to be a passive aggressive hate crime towards those without intellectual privilege.
H Moser is my favorite in this list. The bracelt is one of the most amazing ones i have seen. Especially the high polished version on the green dial model.
Agreed. Moser's Streamliner was already a dream watch for me. Now they've made the case a bit smaller (39mm), added a beautiful fumé enamel dial, and a micro rotor! It's like they read my mind because those are all things I would have answered if some asked me how they could make the Streamliner even better. Now if only I could afford one...
Sand is heated until it melts thus becoming glass. Sand is made from ground up rocks. However steel is also made from rocks 🪨 in the form of iron ore. We don’t call steel a rock, just as we don’t call glass a rock. Loved that purple hand story and the Seiko navigation story. Toms face 😮
The moser is stunning! Having absolutely nothing on the dial in the way of logo, text etc really works...absolutely stunning! Seiko really have been killingbit recently, jist a shame the peices have just gone stratospheric which means many are out of peoples budget 😢 really is a shame...
I have been learning about watches and have enjoyed your channel content. In my learning I have found the ‘IWC Schaffhausen’ Portofino Complete Calendar (IW359001) to my liking. Are they a good watch?
Murakami did innumerable projects with/for Louis Vuitton for many years, so it's expected that he would design watches for Hublot, an LVMH subsidiary. This is not the first one, by the way. Murakami is the ego of Japanese contemporary art. Aida Makoto is the id. I like Murakami's work, but I cannot imagine who would buy this Hublot. Maybe the same people who will buy the upcoming Kusama-designed Hublot. (I have no idea if that collaboration will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised.)
Murakami is that classic artist that was cool decades ago and then becomes mainstream with brands seeking to tap into the cool without realising its only cool in the eyes of people that aren't.. similar to hirst, haring...etc But it is a good concept, looks good, well executed, and will sell well to ostentatious rich dudes with low cultural capital. Expect on plenty of sports stars, in Vegas, and in the club.
The Oris 75 is gorgeous, love the color scheme. I've got the same design in 65 and it's a very comfortable daily, but I've payed 1000€ for the 65 and I don't believe that the 75 worths $4100, even so it would be "exclusive".
@@TeddyBoy7796 Even “solid” glass still flows. Therefore it’s a liquid. If you look at really old buildings you’ll see the glass at the base is thicker than at the top
I want a Landmaster GMT. Point the hour hand at the sun, rotate the bezel so the GMT hand points to North and boom, done. Plus then you can quickly check for calibration as the GMT hand slowly moves from the N
F.Constantin hasn't got any credit for their engineering innovations and new attractive designs as well as a great value prop, its not my thing but they deserve kudos. Love the new Moser too🎉
That is the most attractive FC watch that I have seen. Funny how Tom knows that something is not right in the way that the compass method is being described with regard to the Seiko.
Yeah and bojangles’s fried chicken looks awful if you are comparing it to key lime pie…. You’re looking at it like YOU would wear a WATCH and that just isn’t the point
I really don't think that EUR 30k is excessive for that Moritz Grossmann, for what one gets. Certainly not compared to a similarly priced Patek Philippe.
If two of your buddies ran up and one said “come on there is a formula 1 car over there” and the other said “come on there is a Vauxhall over this way with a formula 1 engine in it!” …. Which buddy do you go with?
The Philippe Dufour has managed something amazing. Thousands of Euros have been spent to make something look cheap. It's achieved the amazing result that you have to wear it inverted to hide the dial. Glory at the calibre, but get the time from your phone.
I don't think FC is overstepping with the highlife perpetual tourbillion. Their perpetual calendars and tourbillions are celebrated for their price-points and they only made 35, so hardly a financial risk of ruin.
Feu isn't a difficult french word to pronounce. As a watch connoisseur, you're bounde to have to use these french terms. And Brits have adopted many french words historically. Dont understand what's missing.
You are great reviewers but please dont you ever do that flashing images during the Mathey,Tissot,Massena shoot. It was unbelievably uncomfortable.Do not do that again, you naughty boys, otherwise you will see me elsewhere.
The M. Grossman is calling to me. The price, however, would ring in my ear like the needle across a vinyl record 😵💫
Big fan of the M.Grossmann tefnut. That's classic in every sense of the word.
That british "That's decent" after the huge monologue. I'm still crying 😂

"Grey is of course my favourite colour and reminds me of MANY of the thoughts I have during the times I am alone." You guys are brilliant!
I really love that Omega, that’s a bit of me that, wish it weren’t so big though, sub 40mm would be great.
The Seiko at the end is brilliant too.
The H Moser bracelet, reminds of the ebel sport, and classic waves
That's a bit harsh?

Mosers are pure class. Wow!
They massacred the Full Strike, one of my favourite LUC Chopard models. 😮💨 Meanwhile, the Moritz Grossman is really lovely.
The moser is stunning! Having absolutely nothing on the dial in the way of logo, text etc really works...absolutely stunning! Seiko really have been killingbit recently, jist a shame the peices have just gone stratospheric which means many are out of peoples budget 😢 really is a shame...
The Omega and Seiko appealed to me the most. =)
Same here mate.
That Oris is painfully retro and beautiful

You finally talked about Moritz Grossmann. Thank you.

I was completely mesmerized by the M Grossman until the price took my breath away! WOW I was NOT expecting that!
Same here 👍🏻
Loved that compas explanation, never understood use of that bezel.
It is wrong though
"2400 pounds!" "that's decent" I love this channel
You have to bisect the angle between the hour hand and a 12 o'clock position. Not between hour and minute hands.
The Oris 75 is gorgeous, love the color scheme.

Um ... no. Fugly.
That Oris piece is beautiful but would prefer the bracelet not to be two tone
"uhh, can I try it on?" [10:08] I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Such a legendary response.
The Omega Seamaster looks like a design that has come to the end of the road. Not much more that can be done to it, let alone renew it.
Philippe Dufour is famous for his phallic pieces, but all done with class!
Love the Grossman by the way.
Great watches and review. Not all to my taste but whatever floats your boat! As for glass, it’s a liquid not a stone.
Glass is a solid, molten glass is a liquid.

Nice Omega

What about the new Longines conquest Chrono?
That Moser is just beautiful

Glass is actually a stone by def.....oh...
No mention of the micro-rotor tourbillon from Horage (Autark Tourbillon) ;)
Chopard is very interesting 👍
The Hublot Smiling Flower should be called The Abysmal.
OMG I have done the silvering on the clocks I sold during the Pandemic, although doing this on a watch is more refined than "Horology Hulk" will do.
"That decent." Legendary ending to the incredibly easy to use, Seiko compass watch section.
It seems to me that watch companies just think of a random high number and then charge it!
Did the Longines Heritage come before the Grossman?
2x lighter? Is that the same as half the weight?
That is the most attractive FC watch that I have seen. Funny how Tom knows that something is not right in the way that the compass method is being described with regard to the Seiko.

how about CW The Twelve?
Review Haofa please :)
there is a stone named adventurine. but they named it after the glass because it looks just like it.
Well, I quite like the background music…H. Moser for me😉
7:00 The Hublot glass flower watch you can keep. And I will keep the £273K that I do not have to buy it.
Maybe (probably) it's the numerals, but my first association with the Oris was Spongebob Squarepants.
No Longines Legend Diver 39mm?

Lol the seiko description 😂
H moser , enamel? On a sport watch? Brittle

Glass does not have a crystalline structure. Therefore, it’s really a fluid and not a rock.

As bad as it would be to eat sapphire I think it would be worse coming out the wazoo.
Impressed that you know of "Quadrophenia"👍
Glass is definitely a stone by definition.
H moser: DAMN
Hublot: WTF
The Hublot is very nice (sorry Nico Leonard!)
Tom cracks me up ..... 🤣
Lol that's decent.
That Moser is ruined by the small seconds circle. Why ruin a beautiful dial like that?
That Freddy Croissant is well bum, in the Nathan Barley sense, natch. Just needs a really big number 5.
Boring.
