What I love about this video: it’s real! This is great for folks that are new to the Jeep world and “over landing”… Another thing I like: You took out a stock Jeep and a standard teardrop trailer. Nothing over the top, only stuff that many people can actually afford in the real world. With some “off road” trailers topping out at $130k+ it’s nice to see that you can still go out and live with much less. It brings it down to a realistic level. I too am a musician (drummer) and have been all over the world, I’ve been on every inch of the roads you were traveling on, and it totally hit home! Thanks for the video!
Just traded in my 2021 Wrangler. In the last 6 months it had dropped mpg from 20-21 mpg to 15.5- 16 mpg. Had some electrical issues come up too. At least I had equity in it as a down payment on a used F150 4x4. I love this truck.
@@IAmWoodyHaha, that is the mileage I get in my Jeep Gladiator(15-16 mpg). Work from home FTW, and it is worth every gas penny to drive it, more fun than I've ever had in any vehicle, including my previous Wrangler. Now if I had an hour commute it might give me pause. ;)
@@houstonartz4697 I get 15 on the backroads and city in the F150, but it is a truck and I am good with that. That Wrangler wouldn't pull my new jetski above 4th gear (manual), on flat interstate. I spoke with the dealership about upgrading my gearing with an option that was available with the JL model and they said sure, but it will void the warranty. With the truck, I have no problems. I know the Gladiator would have handled it too, but I wasn't willing to take a chance on the other issues. I must say that I really HATE the electronic assist clutch on the Wrangler. The engagement point was constantly changing and it is an unnecessary "enhancement" to the clutch function.
Just so that you know .. me, my wife and 1st born son Derek , who is now 30 years old did exactly the same thing.. we drove out west and stayed in the Colorado Rockies ...near Colorado Springs ... we never went back east....only but a few times to visit family ..since then we have built our dream mountain home and live on 10 acres right behind Pikes Peak at 10,000 feet elevation.. I’m a Colorado native of 53 years . Your video made me realize how I sometimes take this beautiful state for granted and how much I need to leave all the crap behind and get up to the mountains more often . Hopefully you come back and maybe explore the northern mountains . Colorado is dry however the northern mountain’s are not high altitude desert , totally different feel yet both have amazing areas to explore . It’s all even better with man’s best fried !
Nicely done. I live in Lake City. Thank you for the portrayal of the Alpine Loop as something to take time to slowly enjoy. There is a growing trend to turn it into a racetrack which will ruin this special place for all.
...and that's why this video should be in 4K and not 1080p. Doesn't do the scenery justice. Besides, 4K is the current standard: 1080 is the absolute minimum but 2K is definitely better. If you're going to take video of scenery (anywhere, not just CO) do it in 4K -- it's just as much work to "film" it, but way better quality, especially on the large-screen 4K TVs most of us have nowadays -- 1080p doesn't look very good on them. The only downside is way larger 4K file-sizes, but the outstanding video quality makes it worth it, IMO. -- BR
I lost a very good friend on the road up Antero.....In the dead of summer. You got some balz bro. Her Jeep fell over 800ft. Her dog was ejected and was not found for 3 weeks...Highway 10 is the first road I traveled on as a child with my grandparents when it was dirt with cattle crossings on the way to Creede. For me Highway 10 is the most bittersweet road I have been on, depending on of course your direction of travel. Getting to Cedar Point and seeing the Spanish Peaks lets me know I am on my way home. Next time travel to North Clear Creek falls.
Your video is an amazing description of this area of Colorado. My husband and I have done virtually Jeep trail around the Ouray /Silverton area and we LOVE it!!
Just finished watching from beginning to end and enjoyed every moment. The wife and I have a 2003 wrangler and a teardrop that we take to remote locations as well. We will be going to the Grand Canyon and attending the overland expo in Flagstaff this year and plan on heading North to visit Antelope canyon and make our way back East into Southern Colorado with a bunch of stops and stays along the way. Subscribed and look forward to future videos.
Welcome to Colorado my friend. I am out here in the early 1990s from New York and I never looked back. Watching this video made me realize how beautiful this state is. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoy living here.
What an awesome video! Aside from the Jeep issues, it looked like an amazing trip! I really enjoyed your choices of music for everything, and the editing was excellent. Being a resident of Colorado, I know many of the places you went but haven't gone to a few of them quite yet. This is definitely incentive to get out there this summer! Bravo and thank you!
Man this video is so accurate. We have a jeep Cherokee had it 3 weeks and had issues back and forth to dealership for a fix’s. Now fixed but starting to think we made a bad decision. But for now it works. Love the video and we enjoy Colorado just as much!!!
I bought a new 2016 T@G in 2015, had it on many trips, it’s great to sleep high and dry especially when it’s raining. It’s still like brand new and has been trouble free.
Reed Jeep outside of KC helped me and my wife on a road trip with my Jeep Cherokee.... long story short..... We were traveling from Minnesota and I had a issue I created, and ended up being a non-issue after they looked at it.
The calls you asked about i believe to be of the Clark's Nuthatcher. You captured one at 35:32 atop a tree. I was really hoping you would have talked more about the use and end reaction of the Teardrop camper. Your video title lead me to watch. Very nice scenery and nice trip to have taken. Great story and storytelling. Your narration reminds my of Flip Pallot. Loved his show and how he was able to bring me along on his adventures. Well done
Im a first time viewer and so far i am enjoying ur channel. It has mixed feelings for me. The last ten years or so i worked i had planned to end my days boondocking and traveling. I was researching what i wanted to travel in. A pickup for sure , shell on the back pulling a small camper. Well life went all to hell , got hurt , couldn't work , that was the worse part. Not being able to do what I wanted to . Ended up on disability, lost my five acres of land , the house i had build myself, everything, lost most of my 401k , the rest i had pulled out trying to save my place. Big mistake, throw away so much money to end up losing it anyway. Finally my old F150 give out on me. I was actually homeless for about eight months. Found this old mobil home. Now i sit and dream of what could have been. My credit score was 800 at one time, i swear thats the truth. Now i can't get anything on credit. I live two miles one way to the dr. That four miles round trip is pure hell sometimes. Don't even want to talk about getting to the grocery store. I will never have another car or truck. I can at least watch videos of people like yourself living your dream and i am really glad you are doing it. To late for me but watching videos like urs and other people give me a smile. Ty for some absolutely beautiful scenery. Stay safe and get home safe.
What a beautiful journey. Colorado is a beautiful state. I traveled 10 months with a trucker from the east coast making to California.. Its amazing how small our world is and how big at the same time. I enjoyed the off road trips , but i don't know if i would have been brave enough on a couple of the roads you chose . I might have been the dog at that point that would hide in the camper. I have to say that once you got the Jeep truly fixed you were fearless.
I commend your good attitude in the face of vehicle issues and incompetent dealerships. That had to be really frustrating. As an American it pains me to say this but our domestic manufacturers just don’t make quality cars anymore. All that matters is profit. We absolutely CAN make the best vehicles on the globe, the dollar matters more. I went Japanese in my vehicle choices about 20 years ago after many issues with the domestic brands. I still have two of those vehicles, both with almost 300,000 trouble free miles.
02 sensor issues with Jeeps, seems to be a fairly common issue and I’m surprised none of those dealers had them on hand . I wonder if it might be a good idea to preemptively order a full set of sensors to always have on hand to whoop out at the dealership when they say yeh we don’t have any.
I will have you know this is my second video of yours after finding your channel this morning and I feel like my wife is already considering leaving me because I can’t stop watching. The Colorado video was a two coffee video and I loved it.
This is one of the best videos I have watched! It was really nail biting for me in parts (I am scared of heights) Your pup definitely didn’t want in the jeep because of where you were going 😊. Great footage! Thanks for sharing!
The jeep off road community is why u get one we are the best of people as u found out we share and love meeting any new folks memories that last forever thats what u get when u buy a jeep way worth it as u found out great vacation and a good watch thanks for letting me tag along;)
We’ve lived in CO for over 50 years. We’re still discovering new things here. We’ve had 4-Runners for 10 years with no problems! Very sturdy and is a good mountain vehicle.
I’ve had two Jeeps, Wrangler and a Grand Cherokee Limited. I would never buy another! Go Toyota! I’ve had a Camry, Tacoma, and now a Tundra. All three have been problem free.
Had 2007 jeep Sahara, traded it in for 2017 jeep Sahara 4 Dr. Test drove it from Tucson to Prescott and back.No mechanical problems but it was noisy as hell, migraine hole trip. Fortunately CarMax has a 30 day return policy with no questions asked and total refund. Same dealer bought a 2023 Toyota 4runner Sr5, 4x4, 22k miles and its a dream. Rock solid car and planning a 6200 mile trip this summer. Even at 80 y/o life is still a journey even without a covered wagon.
I bought a used f350 6.7L diesel- 2wd (so sits lower thn 4wd), gets 20 mpg when not towing 10k lb trailer (10mpg when i am towing). Regular maint includes oil chane every 5-7k miles. Crank down windows, no ac, so I have to find altitude in summers. Toyotas also seem to be a great choice - even their 4wd mini van, although clearance might not be what you want/need for your trip. Fun to watch your adventures! Stay safe and have fun 🙂
Thanks for this video. You did a nice job with it I solo from New England out to CO annually. It's a long drive. Again, thanks for sharing your adventure. ❤❤
Lived in Colorado since 1971 and will never leave! I have a campervan and mostly travel through the state because it's so amazing. Hiking the 14ers is a huge draw for me!!!! So beautiful and glad you enjoyed a small piece of what the State has to offer.
I really enjoyed this video. I'm at a similar point in life pondering my future adventures as I near retirement. I was proud of you at how calmly you took on those challenges. I was very nervous watching you drive up that snowy mountain! Really a fun watch! Thank you!
Relax. I own a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 4/door. I have clocked over 90,000.00 miles with zero problems. I do my own maintenance and repair. I know enough to own some tools and online repair Manuel paid $89.99 for it. It is the same manual the Jeep Techs use at the Jeep Dealerships. I”m enjoying your trip footage and comments.
Totally AWESOME video of your exciting adventurous trip! Well done. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this place along with all the ups...and downs experienced along the way.
Never buy a Jeep. My cousin is a mechanic and said its a total piece of crap, even with regular maintenance. Ive heard this from so many people. I have a Tacoma and as long as you maintain it like usual, you’re golden for a long long time.
Never get your car reliability information from a mechanic. They are mechanics all they ever see are problems. They don't see the tens of thousands of other vehicles that never show up at a shop for serious or major issues. That's like a doctor claiming there are no healthy people in the world because the people they see have medical problems.
Bought my 2015 JKU in 2020, multiple trips from Houston to Denver. Never any issues. I don't bash the heck out of it, but if I did, I'd upgrade the necessary components before I took those challenges. "Stock" won't handle extreme use...no matter the vehicle.
@@sunshineandsmiles9668 na. Plenty of people never have issues with them. Like me. Plenty of people in Toyota FB groups, etc. have issues with their Toyota too. So idk 🤷🏻♂️ every brand can have issues while other people with the same brands never have any issues.

EXCELLENT video recording of your adventure! I appreciated the use of various camera angles (especially the high-angle shot from the top of the teardrop camper), the intermittent use of time lapse and background music, the drone footage, and the overall editing and assembly of the final cut. Thanks for sharing!
To say that I am impressed would be an understatement. My wife and I live in Arizona. We spent our honeymoon in Durango, it was June 1st, I rented a Wrangler in Silverton and took her to Ouray, that was 1991. We’ve hit most every Jeep trail in the San Juan Mountains, many times to Animas Forks! I say that to say this, not too many men would venture into the places you went. Especially those from the eastern part of this amazing country. I love Juniper! Even though I have personally witnessed most every place you traveled, I really enjoyed your trip! God bless you and Juniper!
Car problems are sooo frustrating but glad you have your furry companion. They are such a comfort. She is very sweet.

Colorado is dry however the northern mountain’s are not high altitude desert , totally different feel yet both have amazing areas to explore . It’s all even better with man’s best fried !
Vote Trump 2024. He does not care if you are a pothead or like to brew your own.
Nice work stitching different photographic perspectives and I appreaciate the calm of your narration. My wife calls this my ASMR. I subscribed.
Awesome! Thank you!
Ok then, Jeep is off my list for cross country trips. 😂
😂
Jeep is owned by FIAT
Nicely done. I live in Lake City. Thank you for the portrayal of the Alpine Loop as something to take time to slowly enjoy. There is a growing trend to turn it into a racetrack which will ruin this special place for all.
Ssshhhhhh. Don’t tell people about Lake City…. Love it there!!!
Wishing you the best as you journey forward on new paths whether paved or unpaved !!
Thank you 🙌
I throughly enjoyed that. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice video even with the jeep problems.
Glad you liked it!
The scenery on the Jeep road in the mountains was so beautiful. The road itself was terrifying!
...and that's why this video should be in 4K and not 1080p.

I’m very sorry for your loss.
What a mess! I'm so glad you're safe!
Thanks for watching Tom! 😁
Your video is an amazing description of this area of Colorado. My husband and I have done virtually Jeep trail around the Ouray /Silverton area and we LOVE it!!
Thank you! I can’t wait to go back!
Ouray is the best!!
I have a teardrop just like yours. Its a 2017 Tag XL. I travel and camp with it all the time. I love mine.
Well done. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This has to be one of the best videos I've ever seen on RUclips. Thank you for it.
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is an outstanding video. So good, that I am liking and subscribing!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video! Thank you for bringing us along.
Cheers and safe travels.
Thank you!
Amazing how you can stay so calm with all of the jeep issues; hats off to you - we could use a lot more people like you nowadays.
Thank you! Getting worked up doesn’t solve anything. Cheers!
Man this video is so accurate. We have a jeep Cherokee had it 3 weeks and had issues back and forth to dealership for a fix’s. Now fixed but starting to think we made a bad decision. But for now it works. Love the video and we enjoy Colorado just as much!!!
I’m not ready to give up on the jeep yet! Thanks for watching!
I bought a new 2016 T@G in 2015, had it on many trips, it’s great to sleep high and dry especially when it’s raining. It’s still like brand new and has been trouble free.
Very nice!
Reed Jeep outside of KC helped me and my wife on a road trip with my Jeep Cherokee.... long story short..... We were traveling from Minnesota and I had a issue I created, and ended up being a non-issue after they looked at it.
Have you had many problems with your Jeep Cherokee? I’ve been thinking of getting one.
I absolutely love the long videos. Very much enjoyed this one. Thanks!
Thank you!!
Nice job on the full video! Thanks for sharing your journey once again!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing
Great video! We stumbled on it via RUclips recommended Thanks, RUclips!
We are considering a tear drop trailer for some adventures. Really enjoyed your journey
Awesome! Thank you!
WOW! I thought I might skim through this video, but I couldn't stop watching it! This is the FIRST 1+ hour video I've ever watched on RUclips. GREAT JOB! And now I'm going to look into teardrop campers.
Thanks Mike!! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😁
Great production quality. Outstanding 👍👍👍👍
Much appreciated!
Great story and storytelling. Your narration reminds my of Flip Pallot. Loved his show and how he was able to bring me along on his adventures. Well done
Thank you!
Great video sir. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Thankyou for this video. I almost bought one 6 months ago.
Wow! Great drone drone vid of the solar farm! Ride safe!
Thank You!
Stay safe and get home safe.
man, I hear you! I lost everything too while trying to get my disability going! They don't care the financial burden it puts on you. Peace
Where are you ??? I was a nurse 35 yrs. Now disabled at home washing my dogs !!!😅
@@kimruble477I went broke waiting for it too !!!
Great video, thanks for sharing, I've spent July in Colorado for the last three years, hoping to get back out there soon
Spent a week in Colorado
Moved there a year later 😂
Ever camped in the San Juan’s?
@@T25de spent a few weeks around Ouray, stayed in the Ridgway State Park, Ouray, Black Canyon
Thank you!!!
Well documented visually and I loved the soundtrack - appropriate music for each change of circumstance.
The birds are magpies. One of the smartest birds you will encounter
Aren't they known as Camp robbers?
Those damn things get loud sometimes
You have a gift for communicating. Well done. Old lady here....
REALLY enjoyed it. And LOVE your dog.❤.
Thank you!
Great video and look forward to your next adventure!
Thank you!
I enjoy the whole trip with you . Also admire your calmness at the begining of the adventure with the jeep trouble. God Bles You.
Thank you!
Wonderful video! Your voice is easy to listen to. Music was perfect. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you so much!
Enjoyed going along on your journey! Beautiful! Nicely video ed🎉
Thank you! I enjoyed this trip with you. I love Colorado
Glad you enjoyed it!
02 sensor issues with Jeeps, seems to be a fairly common issue and I’m surprised none of those dealers had them on hand . I wonder if it might be a good idea to preemptively order a full set of sensors to always have on hand to whoop out at the dealership when they say yeh we don’t have any.
That’s a great idea!
I will have you know this is my second video of yours after finding your channel this morning and I feel like my wife is already considering leaving me because I can’t stop watching. The Colorado video was a two coffee video and I loved it.
Wow, thank you! I'm really glad you like the channel!
This is one of the best videos I have watched! It was really nail biting for me in parts (I am scared of heights) Your pup definitely didn’t want in the jeep because of where you were going 😊. Great footage! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The jeep off road community is why u get one we are the best of people as u found out we share and love meeting any new folks memories that last forever thats what u get when u buy a jeep way worth it as u found out great vacation and a good watch thanks for letting me tag along;)
Very true, and Thank you!
Thats why i love my toyota 4runner!
We’ve lived in CO for over 50 years. We’re still discovering new things here. We’ve had 4-Runners for 10 years with no problems! Very sturdy and is a good mountain vehicle.
Thanks!
Much appreciated!
It's well deserved. @@NowhereBoundAdventures
Just awesome.
Thank you!
Nice down to earth trip and well made thanx for sharing...
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve had two Jeeps, Wrangler and a Grand Cherokee Limited. I would never buy another! Go Toyota! I’ve had a Camry, Tacoma, and now a Tundra. All three have been problem free.
Agree - Toyota Tundra is excellent
I concur with this Toyotas are the best
I think what I like about this video is the build up to the Rockies. I had no idea you’d get into some of that terrain and beautiful views.
Thanks for this video. You did a nice job with it
I solo from New England out to CO annually. It's a long drive.
Again, thanks for sharing your adventure. ❤❤
Thank you!
Hoping to hear more about the teardrop the Comfort convenience or lack of it
Me too. Cool video though.
Lived in Colorado since 1971 and will never leave! I have a campervan and mostly travel through the state because it's so amazing. Hiking the 14ers is a huge draw for me!!!! So beautiful and glad you enjoyed a small piece of what the State has to offer.
Thank you! I love it there 😁
WAS!!!!
Been here since 1979 and love it...Arvada is great
Lots of good hiking in Golden and Rocky Mt National Park
I really enjoyed this video. I'm at a similar point in life pondering my future adventures as I near retirement. I was proud of you at how calmly you took on those challenges. I was very nervous watching you drive up that snowy mountain! Really a fun watch! Thank you!
Thank you!
Introduce the DOG!
Well behave dog
He did at the beginning.
The dog’s name is Trooper
You have inspired me to plan a trip out there. Thank you
Go for it! You’ll love it!
Thanks! Stay tuned, lots more coming!
Excellent production! I was very immersed in your journey. I enjoyed your point of view. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Golly you just triggered all my post traumatic fear of car breakdown with this video. I would have turned around at the first breakdown.
Working through problems is all part of the adventure. 😁 Thanks for watching!
Totally AWESOME video of your exciting adventurous trip! Well done. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this place along with all the ups...and downs experienced along the way.
Thanks so much for watching!
Never buy a Jeep. My cousin is a mechanic and said its a total piece of crap, even with regular maintenance. Ive heard this from so many people. I have a Tacoma and as long as you maintain it like usual, you’re golden for a long long time.
I’ve seen plenty of Toyotas breaking down on trails in videos when the Jeeps don’t. 🤷🏻♂️
Jeeps make you get to know them piece by piece. 😂
@@sunshineandsmiles9668 na. Plenty of people never have issues with them. Like me. Plenty of people in Toyota FB groups, etc. have issues with their Toyota too. So idk 🤷🏻♂️ every brand can have issues while other people with the same brands never have any issues.
I loved your video. I lived in Grand Junction for many years (the best years of my life) i now live in Arizona, but still dream of returning. Ive hiked those mountains. I felt the best of my life
Great video just found it by chance and I live in the West in Oregon state. I enjoyed the calmness and everything you had to go through with the jeep and later on in the trip. You did well and is a well edited and informational video all in one. You gained a new subscriber now and thank you for the video. Be well and happy travels.
Thank you!
EXCELLENT video recording of your adventure! I appreciated the use of various camera angles (especially the high-angle shot from the top of the teardrop camper), the intermittent use of time lapse and background music, the drone footage, and the overall editing and assembly of the final cut. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!!
Bedankt
Thanks a lot!
Love the idea of staying at farms and wineries. The journey is the adventure.
You'll want to get over to the western slope and Utah to truly see what Mother Nature has created in this part of the country. Nice job on the video.
That is the plan for the next trip! Thanks for watching!
