One of the drawbacks of this rig is that I need to disconnect in order to open the tailgate. Otherwise I would definitely leave it on. Thanks for watching!
@@NowhereBoundAdventuresWith my F150, I nested a bunch of small cloth bags together to put over the jack so I wouldn’t ding my tailgate which I can open about 50% with this kludge. I hear ya though! I relegated my diesel heater to warming a room in the house since no snow where I go. Found my 12V blanket to be more than adequate for my location. Usually nothing lower than 35 degrees. You eat well Mike! I am a bit lazy breaking out the delicious dehydrated stuff.
I love the teardrop, perfect small place to heat, yet big enough to veg out. Glad to see the dog along for the trip, always safer with extra eyes and ears. Nice video, love the snow camping. I think the tent will work great under less snow and certainly for rain.
You reminded me of a time I camped in a huge rain storm. My tent was so muddy in the morning. I went into the lake with it and swirled it around a few times. Voila. Good as new! 😊
I can see why you love to camp in the winter. I have a 25 ft. Casita. Winter is my favorite time of year to camp. Having it most to yourself is a real treat. I love a snowy day .
So here is a great little tip for anyone with a Mr. Buddy heater. Go to the hardware store and buy a paint roller grill for a 5 gal bucket. It has the 2 hooks on one end. If you flip it upside down, the hooks go around the handle of Mr. Buddy. you can cover it with foil and cook hot dogs, or steaks. Take the foil off and use a small skillet and will cook eggs and bacon. Boil water, heat coffee. And it is indoor safe. You can even buy a wood stove fan, and it will distribute heat from the fan like a blower. I wish I could send pictures somehow. I'm sure I butchered the explanation. Once I make a video, I will tag you in the video if I may. Let me know .
@NowhereBoundAdventures i also found that if you get two 2" C clamps it helps hold the hooks to the handle. And also a few 2 inch bolts with nuts will act like legs on the factory heat guard and will help steady any heavy pots or pans on it.
Living like a King in a snowstorm. Awesome setup! A Jackery Explorer 1000, nice piece of kit there, my guy. The tent, although awesome, didn't have a chance in that snowfall. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Glad you bought the Joytutus, you won’t regret it. We love ours, along with our Nucamp Tag. But I have to admit we have never camped in a snowstorm with ours.
I think it’s very secure. It has 4 latches on every window, which are made from heavy duty acrylic, plus the doors have deadbolts just like any other RV. Thanks for watching!
That combination of Jeep / camper is really good for your winter expeditions. Didn't even begin to get stuck. I bet you could have pulled it out without packing a trail first. Juniper just loves her tiny home on the road! 🤠👍
I bought a Jackery 1500 w/ two panel for an electrical issue in my trailer which I resolved. Im looking at a smaller unit, 500 or 1000, for everyday trips . How do you like your 1000?
Cool set-up...not the usual stuff I watch, but great content and enjoyed the snow storm, love your doggie Juniper(what breed is she?). Tonight Raleigh might get 2 inches...a big deal over here in almost Eastern NC ! Lol
Glad you enjoyed the video! Juniper is a rescued mutt. I had her DNA checked, she is nearly equal parts golden retriever, standard poodle, and basset hound with 15% “supermutt”. She is unique, that is for sure!
When winter camping like that do you keep water in your water tank. My Tag has a heater for the water tank but not sure if it will really keep the water/pipes from freezing. Great channel!

Love your videos, hope the tent and the diesel heater are working well for you. Was wondering if you ever considered moving up to a Tab 320 or 400? A little more breathing room, and an indoor kitchen and bathroom. The boondock edition has great ground clearance.
Gina and I have talked about that. I like that I can park the Tag in the garage, and I love how efficient and easy it is. Perfect for when it’s just me and the dog. However, Gina is starting to get the travel itch, and her biggest requirement is an indoor bathroom with a shower. So we might be seeing a bigger rig in the not-too-distant future. However, I’ll probably hang onto the tag for solo trips since I enjoy it so much. Thanks for watching!
