I had some anxiety and mood problems, but I got cleared up and took a psyc eval saying I’m completely fine… still got denied. I really want genesis to completely go away and I want to be able to actually pass a waiver…Childhood dreams of joining the military are gone.

Hoping I’m not shut down because of it but I’m not gonna get my hopes up. Recruitment numbers are down the drain and they still find a way to shut down the people who actually want to serve.

Close guess to what EHR stands for. EHR = Electronic Health Record. The civilian equivalent is usually called "MyChart" or something similar to that, but the function is essentially the same: keeping medical records online as a one-stop shop and (most likely) moving things such as pharmacy/vision prescriptions to an online format and moving more towards paperless processes.

This is unworkable with the current generation. Pretty much all of them I know of have been medicated for this that and the other thing their whole lives. If possible could you put out a video as soon as the Army decides to table this madness? I got two kids that want to join but I am not going to have them get intruded upon by the government they would be swearing to serve to this level. Once the government wants to act like the America I protected and defended as a veteran, instead of like the Chinese surveillance state, I will bring them in immediately. This is ridiculous. Hopefully I will get an update that this goes away. I am just going to have them do the college thing, even though they were both hoping to go into the military first. I was watching this video as I’m waiting to hear back from MEPs. {Long story short, I ended up discharged from the Marine Corps prior to finishing training; due to a calcaneal stress fracture 30% across the bone (heel bone). It has been 7 years since occurring.} And around 15:00 minutes into the video “US Army Sgt (redacted)” is calling me. I’m sweating bullets:
Me: “Good morning, do we have good news?”
    Him: “Genesis results came back….”
    Me: “Yes sir?”
Him: “They just need the clearance letter pertaining to your injury, we already submitted it. Should hear back by the end of this week.”
I haven’t been this happy or excited, in a really long time. As I’ve been in this process for nearly 2 years now. 🤘🏼 Advice I can give: If you’re prior service, please be patient. Also, if this is something you truly want; never give up trying. I’m 27 now, not the end of my journey. 😁

We've needed double the staff and our guys have been working 12s five days a week (sometimes weekends). I get it that they need some form of standards, however when you start havinng bullshit standards and disqualifying people over stupid things that really don't matter which does a big hit to recruiting and then you do MROAD and then Genesis that's just gonna hurt recruitment even more, and tbh I can't wait to see when this blows up in the face of the DoD.

This is all because they saw back in 2019 that I had gone to a family doctor about quitting smoking, and concern about weight loss and then noticed anxiety.. I was prescribed wellbutrin but never filled it.. This has been a long process.. Especially being on the verge of A-war I did not expect it to be this hard to enlist in the army full time.

Had an adverse reaction to it (actually made me depressed) had my doctor from that time send a letter that it was resolved and a non issue and that apparently wasn’t good enough. They also need a letter of verification saying I didn’t have an IEP in high school (IEP didn’t exist 16 years ago) due to an ADHD diagnosis that was recent but resolved. It’s no wonder why recruiters are having a hard time finding recruits. All I want to do is serve and challenge myself but idiotic government red tape is keeping good people out. Here’s my prediction…on the MEPS side; it’s going to have to make MEPCOM take a hard look on the conditions they consider “unwaiverable” because I think ultimately they want to stop 2 things.
    1) the really high rate of recruits getting medsepped at BCT (voluntary&involuntary)
    2) the amount the govt has to “pay out” for VA disability connection down the road.
I think it’s gonna have its initial run but like anything first generation, it’s gonna hit its walls. Those walls are gonna provide insight because there is no feasible way that SO many applicants can be DQd but also simultaneously DOD can keep branches manned.
    Something’s gonna give.
Idk what it will be but its gonna be something.
I think personally it could be the amount of waivers granted. A lot of us got medical decisions made for us (especially Mental Health) when we were just kids. I was a child of the 90’s when any 8 year old who was bored got a Ritalin script, and boom, little Johnny Snotnose has ADHD. (This was also true with many other conditions in my experience)
Now Johnny is grown up and matured and no longer shows those symptoms and is by all means, fit to serve. Does this mean the decisions his parents made 10+ years ago should determine the fate of his military future? That’s something MEPS is gonna have to face in the coming months…
(Im only speaking from working for the state/county/fed government over my career and my MIL working for the VA right now.)
I think if you’re worried about your history; TALK TO YOUR RECRUITER. 99/100 they are on your side.
Some of you, the best bet may be holding back on your journey to MEPS until they get the feedback from this program.
Some who want to join might want to start the process of contacting hospitals, Drs., insurance companies, pharmacies, shamans, etc and build your medical records so you waste as little time as possible.
In my experience; where their is a good will there is a possible waiver. Don’t close the door on yourself completely and DQ your own future before you’ve even had a chance: that’s MEPS job.
    Make them tell you “No”.
Living through rejection is much better than living with regret.
If you made it here, thank you for humoring me.
In the end, im just some random dude on the internet, so my comment is just about worth it’s weight in pigeon sh*t. Given I don’t have a crystal ball or a psychic friends network, my opinions could be as useless as teats on a boar. Feel free to disregard.

@Anthony Kight you’re absolutely right Anthony. Waivers at MEPS has historically been a long hike through hell for any applicant.
My hope is this will come to really bite them in the ass and either make waivers WAAAY more accessible or scrap this stupid shit altogether.
I get that they’re trying to sort out the issue of “dishonest applicants” but this is not the way to fix that.
Maybe if MEPS wasn’t such a slow shitty institution that’s known for playing power games with the people they’re processing, more people would disclose things from the jump.
By making the waiver process so arduous and pedantic, many great applicants get pushed out because they can’t afford it wait around for years only to get told to keep going back for “more medical records”.
Either way I don’t see this ending well for MEPS and DOD. Me personally, I’ll be excited to see this crap-grenade blow up in their face…

Pretty sure the psych ward has records of me saying I was on mushrooms for the incident and was not in normal state of mind , the er doctors got me for “suicidal ideation” no marks or mutilation , and they didn’t put down that I said I was on a psychedelic . . So it makes me look worse for recruitment . This happened 6 months ago. They gave me 1 pill at psych ward and canceled my prescription before I was let out .

Hey, I just stumbled onto your channel and I’m definitely subscribing!
I have some doubts: I believe was misdiagnosed with ADHD when I was a kid.
I was prescribed medication. (Stopped taking them soon after), then when I got myself together in High School I began to ace all my classes and perform perfectly in my daily life with 0 symptoms. I think I was just nervous and immature.
Now, I’m going to see a different doctor (Last one specialized in Children’s ADHD) who specializes in adult ADHD to try and get him to state that this was a misdiagnosis, and that I’m clear. I’m 21 and haven’t taken any medication in years.
Do you think a new medical work up stating I don’t have ADHD and the new doctor’s written clarification will be enough to give me a good chance to pass at MEPS?

    • @icastaneda350z
      @icastaneda350z 2 года назад

Reaching E4 simply takes time in grade no? I don't recall doing anything that sped up the process from going E1-E4 aside from staying in. Doing extra duty and all will more than likely save you a slot if your unit is giving out promotions though.

    • @TEAMSWARTZ
      @TEAMSWARTZ  2 года назад

So short answer, No. it’s not required or a direct reason to promote faster above peers. Now, it wouldn’t hurt to be viewed as reliable, dependable and available you know? But not at all required unless you’re ordered. If they’re asking you to volunteer, it’s volunteer and then not mandatory. Whether you’re volunteering or not, doing the implied tasks and doing them well will set yourself apart from the rest of the competition. Like showing up early or on time, volunteering for tasks during drills, AT & so on, clean, crispy and ironed uniform, otherwise going above and beyond within your MOS and usual unit level work. That may increase your potential to be granted a waiver and advanced sooner than the minimum required time n grade and time in service. Best wishes and hope this helps!

I have a question Im hoping youre able to answer.... So my husband is in the process of trying to re-enlist after 11 years. He's prior AF but going Army this time around. Well we got all the paperwork turned into his recruiter and he's supposed to be running the Genesis stuff. My husband was put on adderall as a trial thing for the job we work, but they said it wasnt necessary for him and took him off. So he'd only taken it for maybe 5 months. The recruiter doesn't think it'll even show up on Genesis, however everything Ive seen about it says it will. Will it DQ him or will he be able to get a waiver.

If you ever went into a ER for example at work when a pt comes in we chart their Chief complaint meaning why did they come. If you come in for drug use or an OD we chart it. We ask you if you have a history or do you use drugs we need to know due to medication we may issue upon arrival. So therefore anything you ever stated will be on your medical report. Now in health care we chart it so we know about future conditions you may have.. unfortunately you are signing your rights to HIPPA away when enlisting.
