This is on of the best drone videos I've ever seen on youtube; no smoke no mirrors, just pure cinema. Also, could I ask what's the name of the song(s) used?
Thanks buddy! The name of the song(s) lookup 'Olympus' on Epidemic Sound
Good stuff!!!

Hi there from England . Absolutely loved this. Epic shots that did justice to the landscape . i only have a Mavic but managed to fly and film the mountains in Wales recently so i know it's hard work getting up to take these shots and you carried the Inspire ! Keep up the good work . Atb.Austin.
Thanks buddy!
Earth could be Heaven if we let it. Beautiful work amigo. The ring is yours! ;p
Cheers and thanks for watching brother!
Earth is Heaven. And you don't need a drone to see it.
Amazing scenery and love your drone work Please come and visit the kimberley in Western Australia ,just after the wet season ,aound May and film that too There is alot of unique landscapes Up to you ofcourse
Wow! I just heard about this channel from another RUclipsr, Jason Vong. Some amazing videos here. I'll need to binge watch them all now.
awesome vid loved it and in a sth island kiwi
Drone Failure, Torn Calve Muscles & Heavy Bags weren't enough to stop me in my tracks.
Hei awesome channel ☺ Keep it up!
Let's say it was really worth the pain in your legs after Ben Lomond ^^ That looks stunning! Enjoy the rest of your trip, it was really nice to meet you!
Hey fellow RUclipsr ;).. Likewise hope you have a good one, nice to meet you too!
Phenomenal as usual. I think it would be neat and instructive to have a video going over how you got to where you are now, both as a pilot and a filmmaker. I know I would really like that.
Hi Kyle, Cheers and thanks for the idea I will definitely look at doing something like that!
Amazing Job ! Peace from France :)
Salut! 👍🏻🚁
Thanks for the reply M and D -- Will look into that-already a member of Airshare.
Cheers.
cool man ,on the top
Cheers!
and he makes an appearance! sweet video and beard brotha
Thanks and likewise bro!
Nice job!!. Great to connect here now as well as on IG!!
Cool, thanks!
Wow! Nice cinematic shots that also blend with the score! Hope i can fly an inspire in the future. Now, im just enjoying my phantom 4 and did some unnatural shots. Those shots I did is easy to achieve if I use an inspire.
Thanks buddy! Nah that's what I thought too, that the shots would be much easier to get jumping from Phantom to Inspire. Completely different fish.. The inspire is difficult because there's more to think about and input, It's always down to the workman to get the best out of his tools.
Seems I need to try the inspire. I'm curious.
Watched the commercial for ya!
Amazing footage and brilliant edit-- I'am heading South next year. What was involved in getting a Dept Of Conservation concession to fly a drone over public land and in a National Park?
Thanks, there are no National Parks flown in this short film. Always seek permission from Land owners and local councils / authorities if unsure. Most operation you see is shielded to the best of my knowledge. Use the maps on AirShare NZ website.
Xtra proud to be a kiwi after viewing this masterpiece..
Try Zenmuse X7 next time, nice work
JUST...........WOW
That is all.
Nice one ! Question, how do you get this nice flare ? by put apperture around f9 / f11 maybe ?
Cheers! Yes generally you would look to shoot a higher number, you might sacrifice a bit of sharpness but if the end delivery is web then it really wont matter too much.
Epic video! How much preplanning for every scene do you do and how much is just by feel? Opening scene for example you were clearly trying for a certain shot, did that take multiple planned takes or was it just a one time try?
Hi Chip, Thanks! There's a fair mixture of planning and feel. The opening shot indeed took a while to master and I still haven't found the best gimbal settings yet.. the location changed a lot but I accepted that it was as good as I could muster for now. I've done the hikes before so knew what to expect, but this time with a big and bulky drone and sometimes icy conditions makes for constant alertness. Filming on mountains is also challenging unless you're used to it. Regarding takes - I always have the vision in my head and I'll try to take several shots and just pick the best one. I'll do a behind the scenes for my remaining hikes here to educate people more. Thanks for watching!
Amazing video guys!!! how can i access the summit that you guys were in the video? It was just magic!! i will be there next week with an inspire 2 too. Thanks for share your great work
Thank you Rodrigo, yes you can. Look for "Remarkables" and drive to the ski field. The other one is called 'Ben Lomond' but requires a bit more courage 😅
Awesome video! Want to ask did you face any difficulty to fly drone around New Zealand? I'm going NZ this year with my P4 but I noticed the strict rule about flying drone in NZ. Did you apply for permit?
Hi Jason, yes and no. Obviously National Parks are a big no no, but that hasn't stopped the Mavic brigade as I've witnessed on my travels (tut tut!) You technically need permission to fly anywhere even on private land. Check the Airspace NZ website they have up-to-date no fly zones on there and methods for applying for permission.
Stunning! What's the name of the song you used?
Hi Paul - Thanks. I used ones from Epidemic Sound and it's called "Olympus 1"
Awesome! Do you do all the flying on your own or do you use an app with waypoints for some shots?
On my own there's no waypoints or many smart modes yet for the Inspire 2 which is very annoying! The only good thing is Tripod mode and Spotlight Pro that are available.. You can spot 'Awa Drone' in the video using a controller too but he's flying a p4p.
what is the title of the sound? thanks
geezus this is too beautiful what luts did you use?
Thanks, Just the built in REC709 for ProRes and then the X5 profile for FilmConvert Plugin, Lumetri Color for some level correction.
Awesome video mate. Please can you tell me whether permission is required for small drones for hobbyists?
Yes the same rules apply for everyone. Check the Air Share website : www.airshare.co.nz/
When you trek these mountains do you stay overnight? Looking up the 27lb drone case alone makes me shudder of the thought of all that extra weight on top of any possible camping gear!
In Canada and Norway I did with smaller drone.. Not in New Zealand with the big Inspire 2.. too much gear for 1 person.
Great stuff. How far we have come in this type of technology. I reckon if they had shot Leonardo DiCaprio's movie the Revenant, for example, using such a Drone, GoPros and DSLR's, no average movie goer would notice the difference from that to the actual Cinematic gear they use. It would be very interesting to compare.
