I can at least 200 quarts of potatoes a year. The secret I discovered to getting them to crisp up when frying them is. Open the jar. Dump out the liquid. Then fill the jar with clean water a couple of times. This gets rid of the excess starch. Then dump the water really good. Then take a few paper towels or a clean flour sack towel. And take each big potato chunk and squeeze out all the water you can out of each potato chunk. Then cut them up and put into a pan with oil warmed up. Then fry till golden brown. If you don't get the water out. You will just steam them in the pan. This also works for anything else you do with your canned potatoes.

One of the things my mom would occasionally make that was my favorite was what she called peach kuchen. Her 1967 Betty Crocker cookbook has a sweet dough recipe that she'd make, stretch it onto a pan, cover it with home canned peaches turned into pie filling, and bake it like a pizza. Mmmmmmm, peaches and cinnamon dessert on homemade bread dough "pizza" crust... your apple pie pizza reminded me of that. When I go home for Thanksgiving this year I'll have to request that a peach kuchen be made! 😋

I like soyrizo. If they ever offer it at the pantry, try it. Chorizo is all about the spices and soyrizo has all the spices, so it’s also delicious and lighter.
Your Applebee's story brought a memory to me. I live in a very tiny town, like we don't even have a stoplight small, and I was down at our local Chevron grabbing some snacks & I had a girlfriend who worked there so I was chatting with her & her co-worker behind the counter while she waited for her fiance, her co-worker was an 18 year old boy. They had music playing overhead & the song Venus by Bananarama came on. The young man behind the counter kept pausing & listening to the music & finally he says "why is this commercial way longer than the one on TV" so I tell him this isn't a commercial honey this is a song. He was like "oh, I thought this was just a song made for razor commercials" my girlfriend & I cracked up laughing & the poor guy was like "what...I didn't know" I finally got words out & said we're not laughing at you sweets, you're just so young. This was prob 5 years ago so I was a whole 35 years old but that made me about twice my age so you just gotta laugh.
You are very creative. I try to do this too. I don't think I ever cook the same things, the same way, twice. lol. And recipes, I will try to use one, but never end up following it. Thanks for some new ideas.
You have practical and clever ideas on using up what you have, and all of it sure looks good to me. Never thought of making a chicken BBQ type pizza and really want to try that one in particular soon. I don't know if the leftover deli type turkey and ham I froze after making myself some subs will work as well as your chicken, but why not? Also have some banana peppers I should use up or freeze maybe for pizza. I've got to where I tend to buy nothing but the pepper jack cheese since it melts nice and I like it for pizza or Mexican food. The fruit pizza is a great idea also (I should be using some of my canned fruit). Thanks much!!

We did not! It really is a best by date not an expiration date. As long as it was sealed and no mold when opened, most canned foods are good for YEARS after their best by date.

When l lived in Payson, there was an old hot tub behind my trailer. No matter how hard l tried l could not get anyone to remove it. So one day a light bulb moment happened. I turned that hot tub into my garden. Just filled that puppy up and planted my veggies. Then the night before l was going to harvest l had a visitor l had not expected. A javelina made a feast out of my garden. The only thing it did not eat was the mint. I had never heard of them let alone see one. I was so upset because it was the first time in a long time l could have a garden. When l told my daughter how l saw these paw prints and my garden gone she told me it more then likely a javelina. Then l told her how it ate everything but the mint. She said well l guess it didn't want to have a fresh breath after ate. We had a good giggle over that.
Man, I would be so upset. That was such a good idea though! Maybe a net around it or something next time? That's a funny line about the mint. Sometimes all you can do is laugh and learn! Haha
Have you looked into anti MLM content. It's not that the company's products are bad or the people selling it are bad. It's the business model. Having to recruit other people to make any money and the people selling the products have to hit a certain requirement to keep selling and are pressured to buy all the products themselves so "they know what they are selling" and they end up spending more money then they make. Check out Hannah Alonzo's channel! She does a great job breaking down the company's compensation plans and why they are scams. Once you go down the rabbit hole of it you won't look at those company's the same again!

Our chourico is not ground up it is real chunks of meat It is a Portuguese sausage i slice it up and sauté with onions peppers and pace it in a grinder or make an omelet it is so very good it is Portuguese chourico. Don't think they have it in every state but it can be purchased on lin.
I break spaghetti into about 1 inch pieces and cook it. Then I put it in my veggie soup.
Oh that's a good idea!1 Thank you!
wow, may of 2021 for a jar of pesto and you posted this well over a year of the expiration date. I do hope your family did not get sick.
We did not! It really is a best by date not an expiration date. As long as it was sealed and no mold when opened, most canned foods are good for YEARS after their best by date.
New to your channel and girlllll you are one amazing mama! Love your content and you are all adorable🥰
Thank you!
@@mamabairds you're welcome!🌻
Lovely channel I will definitely be a new sub best wishes from england

I'm totally fine with being besties! Haha. Have you joined my facebook group?
I love your apron. Where did you get it from. I love watermelon things too.
Ordered it from Amazon!
Is the cereal "yucky" cause it's not loaded down with sugar and crud? Lol 😂 I'm just laughing cause I wouldn't eat it either. That dish you made with the cereal as a topper looked delish btw. You make me wanna cook more, thank you! 😊
Yup, that's why it's yucky! Haha. Thank you !
my potatoes did the same thing then my friend told me to rinse them really good I did that and girl they are awesome. Love your videos
Thank you for fhr tip! I'll do that next time!
Oh my goodness. My kids used to call it Mouse cheese ( Swiss) when they were little. Awwwww
Haha
I don't know if they still have it, but Pizza Hut used to have dessert pizzas, at least at their lunch buffets.
Oh, ok. I think they have like cookies now not apple...idk..haha
@@mamabairds They used to have apple and cherry. They may have had other types as well. The pizzas had a very thin crust. They were good!
Girl! I used to sell PC also, however I loved the company😉
Once you go down the rabbit hole of it you won't look at those company's the same again!
your line of jalapeños on the pizza almost made a heart (-:
I didn't even notice that!
Do you have a recipe video of making the pizza crust?
That was a store bought one, but I have making home made on my list! Thank you!
I prefer to add cooked (frozen) shrimp to my pesto pasta for a protein. Yum!
Great idea! We aren't much of a seafood family. I do like shrimp though!
Apple pie pizza looks great
It was so good!
You look really good in the blue. It's your color.
Have you ever tried chicken tettrizzni with zucchini if not you should try it it is amazing
I haven't but that does sound good!
@@mamabairds you just add it to the creamy mushroom soup, I use to make one back when I was able to garden it's was a recipe off the can of mushroom soup but I lost the recipe and the one's I've looked up on the internet doesn't have the recipe I'm talking about for some reason but you just sautee the zucchini with the chicken chunks I used chicken breath but you can use thighs, the price of meats and poultry is shocking to say the least my food pantry gives a choice of chicken hamp or hotdogs, and of course chicken and hamp can be stretched and is better than hot dogs any day especially the hot dogs they give from our food pantry they are the cheap ones the cheapest! 10 for 10 usrally it can't be good! 😳🙏
What are the knowledge on the pizza dough
I'm a new subscriber and so glad, this is my first video but glancing at your list of them there are ingredients I haven't seen used before, I'm excited about that! I like your wholesome personality. One question... it's your tattoo infected or colored that way? I have a few myself.
Welcome! So happy you found me! The tattoo is a water color so it kinda looks infected I guess! Haha. It's 5 years old! I get that question a lot! Haha
This is how we make chorizo in California. Another way to eat them is with Cactus, yummy it's tasty and "healthy" Lol
Haha! I've honestly never tried cactus. But I totally would! Thanks for sharing!
I break spaghetti into thirds 😂
Hey Carolina is that a chocolate cherry tomato my chocolate cherry didn't give me very many this year I have lots of cherokee purple tomato and a yellow tomato which is my favorite I also have early girl, better boy, pear tomatoes and regular cherry tomatoes. As for the chorizo I make mine just like you minus zucchini because I don't always have it. Gouda is very gooda and Swiss is good too. Great meal ideas hope you have a great week. Oh I just have to tell you I break my pasta too it's easier for my autistic child.
The tomato is actually called Bumble Bee and it's from Baker's Creek seeds. They are so tasty! Sounds like you have some good tomatoes coming in! What are you doing with all of them? Did you see my facebook group I made?
What is chereico? Never heard of it. I know it's spelled wrong but I'd love to know the ingredients. The meal looks delicious
Beef salivary glands and fat, chorizo seasoning (paprika, salt, spices, mustard, garlic powder), beef, vinegar, soy grits, sodium nitrite.
I know it sounds weird, but it is so good!!
@@mamabairds you amaze me , that pizza apple pie is unbelievable beautiful!!!!
