The rear "useless" pocket is not useless. It is perfect for your passport. Close to your body and easily accessible only to you. It is a feature on another Pacsafe waist bag that I especially like.
Thanks Ann, I agree. When I made the video I had not had much time wearing this bag. But now that I have, I have definitely found this secret little back pocket to be a great hiding spot for things. So good that sometimes I even forget that I've put them there!
Ive never put bananas or boomerangs in my packsafe, but 2 glass beer bottles to sneak into a movie theatre yes. This version seems like it will fit even better. Thanks for the honest review =)
Yeah, I had trouble with it at first too. Not totally intuitive. I had to watch the video on the Pacsafe site to figure out how it worked. But that's good though. Means the average pickpocket won't be able to either!!
Glad you enjoyed it. FYI, I just discovered another unintended but valuable use for this pack.... I was on a budget airline that only allowed ONE personal item, and with my waistpack, I had TWO. So I tightened up my waistpack and rotated it around so it was nestled in the small of my back. Then I pulled my shirt over everything so it couldn't be seen, and even put my coat on for more hiding. The lady checking everyone at the gate could not tell at all that I had a 2nd bag. I just looked a bit fat!! 😉😇
Great review! You pretty much covered everything. I got a chuckle when you mentioned how the corners would be useful if you were carrying bananas :) Thanks.
@@Getlost55 You can wear it like a cross-over-body sling bag as well if you adjust the straps. I do that sometimes. But I don't remember if I covered that in my review.
@@anon003 It was a tough call. I actually still have both of them. It took me too long to decide on which one I liked more and then it was too late to return it. I would say the Vibe 100 gets the win. The other one is big and the color is not for me although they also have a black one. Wanny buy my other one lol?
I saw it in a shop today and tried it (also two other pacsafe waistpacks .... Vibe? Metrosafe?) and this was the best one for me. I will try ist in London. The only thing ist that the straps dont seem as good as on the other models (maybe because of Dyneema). But I love the Roobar system.
I have been using mine for about 3 weeks now. I still think the main pocket is just a smidge too small, but am getting used to what to put where. I am noticing that the waist strap seems to slip gradually. I adjust it to fit around my waist and later in the week it seems to ride lower on my hips. Let me know how it works for you.
Over60Nomad We both used it in London for a week, every single day as soon as we left the Appartement. We felt quite safe even in large crowds or the Underground. We secured it additionally with a karabiner using the bags loop and connected it this way to our jeans etc. We were a little bit afraid, that a crowd could distract us and open the belt. This way even this could not happen easily. We had to adjust the belt once in that week. But we did not find this very uncomfortable.
Yes, you are correct, it definitely "pooches" out quite a bit in front. Especially when I have stuffed it with all my things. Best of luck finding a more slim-line pack.
Great video. I also think pacsafe are going a little bit too overboard with the zips and lockable clips my new sling bag is a pain sometimes trying to open it quickly. But I am looking for a waist bag for our next trip to Asia
Yes, I agree. Overboard sometimes. I often leave my waistbag unlocked for just strolling around the city when there's loads of space between me and everyone else. But if I'm about to enter a really packed subway or any type of crowded situation, I lock it up tight. Good peace of mind. Let me know if you find anything better than PacSafe products.
@@over60nomad98 well I watched your video one more time and I decided to buy this pacsafe bum bag to take on our up and coming trip to Indonesia, I have brought I think five different day packs in the last five holidays we have been on. Hopefully I like it more than the pacsafe sling bag. But I think the good thing I do like about it I can still use it as a over the shoulder sling bag anyway. And it holds my GoPro and mini tripod and my Sony RX100 and mini tripod. Once again thanks for the video
Well, probably not a whole video. But I have been using it and I still really like it. I can get everything into it that I want and need. I'll tell you another "sneaky" trick that I've gotten away with on those super budget airlines that want to count your handbag as a whole separate carry-on with added fee. Simply turn this waistpack around and tighten the strap so that the big bulge is tucked tight into the small of your back. Wear a long shirt/jacket to cover it and all that is visible is the waist strap, looking like a normal belt. Works like a charm!

I just let the belt out the whole way and measured inside circumference. I got about 47-48 inches. But hard to measure. Maybe query Pac-Safe to be sure. And the newer models could be different from mine.
For a few personal reasons... 1) I've been using this Venturesafe X Waistpack non-stop for over 4 years now (it was new when I did the review) and it isn't worn out yet. Just some minor signs of wear on the edges. So I don't need to buy a new bag. 2) The VIB 150 looks nice but has a smaller capacity. Only 2.5L vs mine at 3.7L. And I literally pack mine full, so a reduction in capacity won't work for me. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
You won't get an argument from me on that. But mine is still in quite good shape, only a little wear around the edges. So until it wears out completely or the zippers/clasps break, I'm just going to keep on using it.
Very user oriented review which most, if not all, reviews will cover. Most will just talk about the feature. This is very well done!
Thank you. Glad you found it useful!
Thank you
Only review that shared how to unclip the strap lock
Nice video! Decided to get one. thanks!!

Yes, such an odd shape. Certainly the little "wings" are not useful for anything other than increasing the stated width!
@@over60nomad98 Well I ordered it along with the vibe 100. I'll just simply return the one that I like less since they offer free returns. TY.
