Im always playing catch up!!! My favorite aunt was named Julia. My mother moved back to Maine in the eighties when she and my dad divorced. In 2007, (and I hadn't been there in 2 yrs because of my back problems,) my sister paid her a visit and she was quite sick. Had to be admitted to the hospital. I rushed up there and my mother was green. They put in a feeding tube. We got her back to Connecticut at my sister's house. She had an inoperable tumor at the top of her stomach. She had been throwing up and not telling anyone and didn't want an internal exam so things got out of control. Stage 4 also. Despite my back injury, I helped my sister (doing most of it myself). with making her organic drinks with herbs in them. She was looking better and feeling much better but my back was seizing on me. I told my sister that I would have to take a couple week break. Well she couldn't handle it (my sis is a nasty alcoholic) and after a few weeks, she put her in the nursing home. Ensure will do anyone in!!! I just discovered that I have gerd and trying to follow that diet is as boring as macrobiotics. I am very familiar with that. I just hope that I don't end up just like my mom. Your mom was so fortunate to have you. She sounds like a sweetheart. My mother wasn't. She was a jealous narcissist that ruined my life....oh well Now I have to watch your new installment! Lots of love from the Connecticut Yankee! 💖🌈😻😻😻😻😻😻🌈💖
I cried through your segment. Your research into alternative treatments and Macrobiotics to help your mother was such a Jill thing to do. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait until Part 2.
Oh man, I'm crying. You really communicated how much you love your mother.... All blessings to you and every character you dare embody within your stories. 🙏
Jill. Thank you for sharing. I lost my dad this year at age 80 to cancer. But I come from dysfunction and this resonates in the way you have to handle the problem while navigating a lot of unresolved stuff. I get it. My dad died this year but my brother died years before him and I had so much to resolve. My mother is like your father in this story. My dad was my rock. On a different note I loved the Moonlighting reference. I loved that show so much! I'm a public school English teacher so literature is my thing. If you need a book to delve into the grief story try a book called In the Midst of Winter, a collection of personal poems about the grief process by so many poets. Thank you for your videos. I'm at a weird point in my life after losing my dad and I'm about to volunteer to do anything at a community theater for camaraderie and bc I like theater! Your videos inspire me these days and make me feel less alone. Thanks.
Suzanne, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad and brother. Loss is so not easy and our culture is in denial about it. We're supposed to just suck it up and move on. As you know it doesn't work that way. We all have to process grief in our own way. I still miss my mom. I think going the community theater is a brilliant idea. Community is so important and it'll be fun. Thanks for being here.
Yeah, another great Sunday will Jill. I always love how you tell a story. All the little details and nuances makes you feel your right there with you. My father was a serious 3 pack a day guy. When he remarried to a woman who would become my wicked step-mother, she forced him to quit. He spent years thinking of nothing but wanting a cigarette. He was miserable. I actually tried to get him to go back to smoking so he would be happy again. The wicked woman would have no part of that. After 15 years of not smoking and wishing he could, he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He was destined to get it either way. I wished he could have lived out his life happy with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth! Jill, I would like to ask a favor. I asked you a few weeks back if you had ever been on any of the Law & Order shows. You gave me the names of them and I tracked them down. You were fantastic in them!!! I'm not just saying this because it's your channel, but you are an excellent actress. Everyone should watch them if they haven't already. Now , you may be too humble to promote them, but I'm not! So I'm asking your permission to tell the folks what season, what number show and give a little commentary-PLEASE JILL. I have already seen them about 5 times and I'm going back for more. Bravo!!!
I'm sorry to hear abut your dad, Glenda. My ex was a smoker too and I made him quit. Maybe that's why he was so mean. Thanks for watching my L&O episodes. Yes, I give you permission to share the info and your comments. I'll eventually do a story about Law & Order. It was a huge part of my life for many years.
@@jilldaltonnyc7545 Thank You Jill. I was somewhat kidding about the wicked step-mother thing. I didn't really like her, but I guess she made the old man happy. So there's that. I will comment again on this thread about your great work on those episodes of L&O. 50 people have already commented on here, so I don't know if they will see my new post. I don't know how to tag everybody, unless I reply to their comment? I'm so not a computer kid. In fact, when my young friends get frustrated with explaining this tech stuff to me they always sigh and say "You're such a Boomer!". True. I don't want to come across as some crazy woman being over aggressive about this, I just want people to see you in action. Jill, you are the real deal. That court room scene when you're on the stand blew me away. I'm naive about acting, but when they yell cut, do you have to decompress a little or is it just another day on the job? This Sunday I will recommend it again. Have a great week!!!😀
When my mom had a stroke in 2012 (the same day the Mayan calendar predicted the end of the world) she lost much of her sense of humor. Many screaming fights ensued. Oddly, she smoked like a chimney her whole life (Salem 100 menthols) with nary a heart or lung problem. I'm not sure what my point is.
Phil, that must have been so hard to have your mom affected like that. Doesn't seem fair. Somehow we make it through the tough time and get stronger from the experience.

Ah, Macrobiotics. My aunt died from stage four mis-diagnosed cancer in 1992. We tried that diet. Dang.
I'm sorry to hear that, Ann. Medicine isn't an exact science. I hope medicine has gotten better since then.

@jilldaltonnyc754 "You could live to be a hundred if you gave up everything that made you want to". Can you name the movie that's from?
What happened to the colorguard and bad marriage to Henry?
They're both still around. You'll see.
i love your site. you seem like if I ran across you, we would be friends
Thanks so much Anna. I like that.
Thank you.
