That was really cool. I felt like I was there riding and part of the conversation. I’d buy a bike from Nick. Seems super knowledgeable and you can tell he does things right.
@@hardtailparty wow, that's surprising to me. My first mountain bike was a 1986 Ross Mount St. Helen's. The difference between that bike and today's bikes is incredible. Those differences wouldn't have been possible without innovators and small builders. I'd argue it's good to look at where you came from to understand where you're going!
Waiting still for my Stanton frame. Mailed them for answers. They response that to the thank of your channel, they are busy as hell and need time to answer :D
Great format, Nick sounded clear and enjoyed the interview process while riding!! Good job exploring the world of custom bike building Steve!! You said you like trying to be an innovator on bike but remember what your doing to your channel ch aging up the format keeping us engaged and and growing in subscribers 🙌🙌👏👏👏. Well done!!.
Steve enjoyed the video with Nick Can't wait to see your review video. Better yet would definitely Give it two thumbs up to have you go to Nick's shop so he can walk us through a build from start to finish that would be cool to see.
haha, your thumbnail says "frambuilder"... and yours to me are recognizable in my feed instantly, and I thought, what? you're talking to people that make oil and air filters for cars now? then I figured it out... lol
My YT Izzo just got a 1-degree angleset today. Its sitting in the high-bb setting (13.5" to be specific), with a 5mm longer reach, and a 6mm longer wheelbase with it's 430mm chainstays. Its quite a quiver. Almost looks like a hardtail. The Penske-Valved Fox Re:Aktiv shock is keeping the efficiency way up and the hard knocks way down.
Hi! really nice to "meet" Nick. Such a supple-cool character and his views are really interesting. Can I ask something that its maybe not the right place to do here (but I dono how to reach you elsewhere) I am a HT rider since childhood and I got the Fat Bike virus in my head lately. Would you consider reviewing the SURELY - Ice Cream Truck? It has a 68 HTA, just like my 2007 Kona Cinder Cone, and I think its on the slackier side of Fat Bikes. Whatever you decide is fine! Greetings from Greece and keep up your good work... we are watching you :-)
Great interview! you think you can do a video talking about tire width and what works for you and what doesn't. Like when is 2.3/2.4 good for and when is 2.6 or plus more appropriate?
Hi...I have a question about build quality. Im from the uk and bought the voodoo bizango pro, I noticed lots of little pinholes on the welds. ( I can link photos via reddit post if you like) they were around the seat tube, seat stay plus near headtube. I'm not a welder but my findings diagnosed it as porosity. As you have ridden so many frames I wondered if you Have encountered this before? In the end I took the bike back and based on the geo, discount and your review I'm awaiting delivery of the Ragley Big Al. Anyway a fan of your channel and love learning about these awesome hardtails.
@@hardtailparty that was my opinion but some seemed to view me as being overly fussy. Thanks for your quick reply. It has been refunded and I'm looking forward to the Big Al. In the south of the uk it has been either super wet with boggy mud or freezing so looking forward to getting out again. Happy riding and I look forward to the next video
Thanks Steve for getting this small builder series going! It was a hoot to meet you and ride hardtails in Sedona.
You're the man Nick, I had a blast getting to know you better and ride your bike. It's an honor to feature your work.

Nick is awesome. He downplays his skill and craft. His stuff is really good.
This interview on the go series is so funny yet perfect
Great segment, Steve! It's obvious you both have a passion for improving the riding experience! Hope to see more interviews like this!
Thanks Bill! I'd love to do more interviews like these, but they're not very popular with my viewers for some reason.

I'd love to visit his shop! Review vid is live now.
@@hardtailparty Just watched it!

Haha, whoops!
It's kind of like riding, we always imagine the awesome downhill flow, but spend most of our time on climbs and more climbs.
Great to get these perspectives!
Awesome video, as always Steve!!!
Mmm, I love that purple Paul dropper lever
Check out Wolf Tooth components
Yeah, I have a couple. The Paul lever is next level, even better feel than wolf tooth.

Good to hear framebuilders are generally friendly despite being competitors.
That made me happy too.
Great video. Love to see a guy who loves what he does. Looking forward to your thoughts on this bike. Thanks for the video Steve.

I think fat bikes are fun. I'm waiting for one with more modern geo to review
Super neat!

I have a video on that exact topic
@@hardtailparty I think I saw that one, is that the one you compare the wheelsets?

I am a hobbyist welder. Pinholes in your weld are not normal and should be a case for a warranty replacement in my opinion.

It's because frams are so delicious.
