No this was not a plug and play process. I wrote in detail about what I did in my blog www.anthonylleras.com/post/differential-swap-from-an-rx8-to-an-mx5
6th gear ratio is slightly higher than the 5speed top gear. There are 3 different rx8 differential ratios. All are shorter than the stock NC rear end. With the shortest 4.3:1 you will likely be at or above 4000rpm at 80. I run the 4.77:1 and see around 4200rpm at 80. Figure you will be slightly higher than that with the same diff.
@@dpf22 So, it is not a good idea to use an RX8 diff with a NC transmission. I have a Duratec 2.5L engine with it. I don't have a car, I have started a scratch Locost build. Thank you very much for your input.
Love the new differential. A little more noise but such a fun drive.
How shorter ratio actually affected your laptimes?
Hey, after the rx8 diff swap on the NC , can you still use the OEM 16" inch wheels from the NC or you need to go on a 17" set of wheels? Cheers.
What is the difference in lap times?
You can use the RX8 differential mount right?
Yes, it is recommended. See description for where to find all the information about the swap.
Hi Antony, is it required to change axles as well like you did? Or I can change only differential (adjusting it to fit of course)?
It is required to change the axles.
Hey I’m looking into doing this was it just plug and play? If possible can you dm about the process or parts I need to convert my 07 Nc

Do you know what could I expect with a 6 speed + RX8 diff, as RPMs at 80?

Would a 2014 6-speed benefit from this or is the stock diff already 4.7?
All nc's have a factory 4.1:1 final drive
@@dpf22 in the US, that is.
@@dpf22 5 speeds yes. 6spd is 3.63
