    Great video SPS! NC is an underrated platform, and pretty affordable now that they depreciated. Excited to see ITBs for the NDs!

      I believe they will become more popular soon, now that the NAs are getting more expensive the NBs are becoming very popular. The same will happen to the NC once the NBs start going up in a few years. I am already seeing more modded NCs online than I did a couple years ago.
      They have great suspension geometry, I think they will be amazing platforms once people realize it. Personally not the biggest fan of the exhaust note from the NC engine but this one sounds great.

      @@biggboysouth I agree with you.The NC is an adaptation from the highly acclaimed RX-8 platform - and many people do rate the torsional rigidity, the balance and adjustablity from that rotary car. I heard both cars can have rust issues (especially in areas with wet climate like the UK), so you'll have to be careful of that. As much as I love the prior MX-5 gens, the NC seems to be a big step in development from the previous chassis design essentially from the late 80s.

      @@TheMaroth ND2 doesn't have as much torque but it's almost as fast as a 2.5 swapped NC, and I say that from experience giving that I own a 2.5 swapped NC with stage 1 cams and FBO and I raced my friends soft top basically stock ND2 and he was actually faster, my car has some gear changing issues I gotta admit, so I'm upgrading my clutch and my engine mounts for smoother gear shifting, and maybe then it'll be a closer race or even a win for the 2.5 but I was surprised to see how fast those ND2s are, do not underestimate them!

    • @michaelw6277
      @michaelw6277 3 года назад +1

      The problem with turbos and superchargers on track cars is that they add a lot of heat that’s very difficult to deal with. Some of us like to go more than four miles at full send without melting the engine, so for us the investment in ITBs is worth it. On top of that, troubleshooting an aftermarket forced induction system when it eventually breaks at the track is a nightmare, so the simplicity of naturally aspirated is welcome.

    • @triptravels1999
      @triptravels1999 3 года назад

      @@michaelw6277 yes, I understand the point of ITb’s, there a nsx video that compares all
      Three and their features pretty well. You can definitely tune and make a reliable Miata that doesn’t heat soak with forced induction esp w a supercharger, you also gain way more power for less or around the same money. Not saying itb,s are bad or that a normal Miata naturally aspirated isn’t fun I’m just saying if you want a capable car actually that will keep up with other stuff you’re gonna need FI

      And what I one doesn't want turbo/supercharged car?

    • @michaelw6277
      @michaelw6277 2 года назад

      @@triptravels1999 you can make a turbocharged car not heat soak, but it's expensive, heavy, and a pain in the ass to figure out and deal with. The relative simplicity of ITBs means less dicking around with the car and more time driving.
      I have a turbocharged car, it's fun and it's really awesome to be able to nearly double the horsepower for a few thousand bucks, but to add so much horsepower and be able to get it to run flat out for 30 minutes at a time is not nearly as easy as slapping on a turbo.

    • @triptravels1999
      @triptravels1999 2 года назад

      @@michaelw6277 obviously you’re going to put more effort and individual items on a turbo car but let’s really talk about cost here while considering that having a small turbo on the car and not making a lot of power is an option, that it’s not rocket science to cool an engine bay and that besides that a kraftwerks super charger would only be around 2.5k(6k overall) more, tuned w a radiator and spall fans and could be ran lightly until further supporting mods which regardless of what you get you’d most likely add. then you could choose how much power you wanted to make w the benefit of immediate response for around only 1.5k more w no supporting mods that could be gotten later. For turbo vs itb, yes they’re simple, but they are relatively the same price as a turbo to make half the power and then from that point have no options to add power besides engine work which, IMO, blowing up stock engines and keeping the nice pieces on the outside is way easier than replacing a built motor and the spend to hp ratio is sad. For 4K you can have a full turbo kit, a tune on racerom, a radiator, and spall fans. Whereas you can get be itb’s for 2500 and get the tuning from bbr for them for around 1k so for 500 dollars more you end up w a car w infinitely more options as a platform for nearly the same price w cooling support.
