A great idea - showing the old rolling stock and bringing back memories of trains 20 and more years ago. Once the only trains were "slam door"! And that is how I remember them as a kid.

I remember travelling cross londin when the dual voltage traibs were introduced. It was unteresting being in the pantograph coach as you could head when the pantograph hit tge overhead wires and power was changed over - they had very noisy transformers(?) which buzzed quite loudly!
Sadly, the last day of service for the 456s was 15/01/2022. SWR have now withdrawn them from service, as with the current reduction in passenger numbers and services, they are now surplus to requirements, even though there's no sign yet of the 701s entering service anytime soon.
What about those interesting ideas for most of the Class 411 and that also includes those interesting Class 421 Very Very Loud 7 Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Transmission Train fans out there, rather than scrapping most of those Class 411 including the Class 421’s maybe you guys can convert them. i remember the 4 cor units racing through petersfield in the early 60s ,they were great, will you mention the 6pul units we had running between victoria and Eastbourne with a no 52 headplate,better than todays rubbish,
@@BPMR In the 2 weeks in mid 2016,-- in from NZ, while staying in SW25 for a couple of weeks, we used them a lot to/from Crystal palace or Norwood. I think the livery is fresh and distinctive ( the old Connex scheme is a disaster). So--leave as is--it's not broken. My "in London/Herts for 6 years daughter" has :-((! memories of Southern trains and its reliability issues

I hope that southern gets new trains to replace class 455 as there old and have no toilet
I would suspect that the Class 455's and 313's would be next for replacement at Southern, but there are no plans yet at the moment.
