The Connex yellow and blue livery on the Class 365s were also carried on the 19 Class 465/0s and the rest of the Class 465s and Class 466s continued to carry the Network SouthEast livery until 2005-2007
excellent video👍 i remember the slam door trains and the corridor to each compartment I seen the one at the east Kent railway brings back memories when i use ride on them🤔 look forward to part 2
Plus with 410/411/412 trains where all compactable meaning if a 411 break down in front of a 410 or 412 they can connect without any problems, yet now days companies instead of running different types of trains for example the GTR instead of running from from south coast a 377 or 378 (which is same unit and fittings) but then they chose to put the 700 unit on the route and if a 700 unit breaks down and behind it is a 377/378 (same the other way around) both trains cannot connect to each other as they have wrong connection, meaning passageners have to wait a long time for a they can get a fitting so both trains can fitted together, causing delays.
Lush Video. I knew of the Slam Door Units and the 365s, but never went on them. I was born in March 1994 near Lewisham which is featured in this Video, and probably had seen them in my Toddler years but don't remember, as for the Next Video I am really hoping to get more info on the Trains I've riden on, especially the 465s and 466s, Very very cool trains.
When the Class 375s were introduced in 2001 they were painted in the Connex Wasp Yellow door livery to replace the MK1 Slam Door Trains and the Class 365s to be transferred to WAGN in 2004 and the Class 465/2s and Class 466s first received this livery in 2002-2005 when under control of Connex South Eastern and South Eastern Trains and the Class 465/0s/1s followed with the same livery in 2005-2007 when under control of South Eastern Trains and currently Southeastern when they introduced the Class 376s in 2004-2005 to replaced the 34 Class 465/2s to be converted into Class 465/9s to replace the Class 423 Slam Door Trains and the Class 466s to replace half of the Class 508s on the Sheerness Line and the Medway Valley Line
I've always wondered why southeastern still have not painted over that one 377 from southern..lol I see it sometimes. Well the last time I saw it was few months back . I'm pretty sure it's still green and white
Not a mistake, they were built as 4 car units. They ran as 4 cars with British Rail on the South Western region but were reduced to 3 car units when they moved to Merseyside. The extra carriage which was removed from the 508’s were then added to the class 455/7’s. If you look at a SWR 455/7 you’ll see that one carriage looks different.
@@David-ts8zn But they are very different the Class 365s have First Class on them and the Class 465s don't have First Class on them and the Class 365s sound like a Class 465/2 and Class 466 and they have different equipment covers the Class 465s had original Brush Motors when the Class 365s operated on 3rd rail before the Class 365s were transferred to WAGN and the Class 465/0s/1s were converted to Hitachi Motors
The slam doors were very reliable compared to the stock that were replacing them at the time, however they weren't deemed suitable for a modern railway due to their age, crash worthiness etc.
Bring the trains out ot private hands and back into public hands, as when it was in public hands everything was running how it should be, hardly any strikes and all the trains where same sort and reliable
Govia lost the Southeastern franchise and has been run by Department for transport and has really gone downhill under the government running it. Bring back Go Ahead/Govia

Very informative. Hi from NZ

Brilliant video- very informative
Thank you
Great video, cheers.

Next video is coming on Saturday. I had just started Secondary school in 1994, I kind of wish that I had started filming earlier then I did. Thank you
@@BPMR It’s fine. I’m really glad that you got films of Kings Cross Thameslink so be proud of that. Did you film the Moorgate branch of Thameslink?

good vid, just as detailed as the southern version of this

AHH the lovely pre WAGN 365. When they were butchered into happy faces. (I do like the happy faces, but the previous appearance was way better imo)
Why did they change the face of the 365s into the happy face?

*MISTAKE* - 3 carriage units, not 4 carriage units

@@BPMR Oh lol I usually always see them as 3 carriage units in videos
why does Southeastern not get the 365 class again?
That would have been a great idea.
The class 365s have now been scrapped or about to be scrapped. One survives at the East Kent Railway.
Wow didnt know about that 508, thought only merseyrail had 508s
Southeastern ran them between Strood and Tonbridge.
@@Cheddarxyz iSee
Haha a Southern 377 with "Southeastern" hastily painted on it!
That's 377 163, an Ex-Southern Class 377. There is also another Ex-Southern which is 377 164.
The Class 365 in this video looks like a Class 465/0/1
365 and 465 are close to the same they are 3 rail they work on the same line and more 365 turned into 465 for the 365 overhead lines

Slam Doors in 1996?? Bloody hell England. Did you guys forget how to engineer somewhere between 1945 and 2000
Lack of investment kept them going.
Sometimes 'urgent' is nothing more than a narrative (LIE).
How often were the Slammers REALLY breaking dow on the line?
The slam doors were very reliable compared to the stock that were replacing them at the time, however they weren't deemed suitable for a modern railway due to their age, crash worthiness etc.
Not anymore. Govia lost this
Pity they didn’t loose southern too shambles and old trains
Bring the trains out ot private hands and back into public hands, as when it was in public hands everything was running how it should be, hardly any strikes and all the trains where same sort and reliable
That Connex livery was shockingly cheap assed
The class 777 look crap
they so old
