- What if Might Guy was in the Leaf Village during the Pain Attack? What about the entire Team Guy? Would Guy, Neji, Rock Lee, and Tenten make a difference when Pain and the Akatsuki attacked Konoha? Would Tsunade have helped? Would guy fight Pain? How would Guy vs Pain go? Maybe Guy would join Kakashi during the Kakashi vs Pain fight.
We saw Kakashi and Guy vs Obito and the Edo Tensei Jinchuriki during the Naruto War Arc, but this is a different scenario. Will it be easier to defeat Nagato? Will Pain still destroy the Leaf Village? Will the 7th Gate and the Hirudora destroy Pain? Maybe Guy's Asa Kujaku? Will Might have to use the 8th Gate? Perhaps Pain would be able to use his Shinra Tensei and Chibaku Tensei to his advantage. Let's see how this Naruto what if would change the course of Naruto Shippuden.

He wanted revenge because Konoha directly destroyed his home. Tsunade even lies through her fucking teeth that the Rain village suffered because of the other villages and not Konoha. Itachi's pain was laugable. The guy brought it on himself for killing his own clan and family and being a bootlicker to a fascist village who can't even think or use his head at that. Then he tries to proceed and manipulate his younger brother into serving that same village that butchered their clan and family, when neither his brother owes him or the village anything.

Yes. Pain literally says that they intentionally waiting for guys team to be away from the village. Guy and Lee counter his skill set so much. They can both just blitz him. They would stomp every one of the oaths of pain.
so we see in the star of the war arc that kakashi~7th gate guy very clearly. we also know their rivals throughout the entire show. this means since kakashi could blitz pain then guy couldnt and certainly not lee either. guy would literally get shinra tensei gg'd so fast. kakashi couldnt even 1v1 the deva path with all the paths of pain alive (the paths of pain get stronger when more of them die so this is the slowest/weakest deva path we see in the pain arc) so how do you figure guy will beat him? if anything guy would do worse than kakashi cause the human path can rip guys soul out if he grabs guy, the asura path is roughly as fast as people like SM jiraiya and has 3 heads and 6 arms so he would decimate guy in hand-hand combat. and the deva path without the use of ANY ABILITIES was on par and beating SM naruto and guy has 0 feats to put him over SM naruto. so please explain how guy blitzes all the paths of pain for me. i'd love to completely fuck ur argument up and slam you in this debate.

@@Bill_Cosby717 at the start of the war hes relative to pain arc kakashi. kakashi was able to force nagato to sack the asura path cause kakashi was stronger than the deva path and was going to to kill it. this means kakashi is relative to the deva path and the deva path is able to easily slap up ppl like utataka the 6 tails perfect jinchuriki. and in the war arc kakashi and 7th gate guy are working together and struggling against those same jinchuriki. this really just implies that kakashi is very relative to his pain arc self at the start of the war since hes struggling against 6 ppl pain bodied and he scales to the strongest pain in the pain arc...yes he gets stupidly powerful chakra pool amps in the war but no actual strength amps at the start. he gets stronger from fighting a lot so hes stronger towards the end of the war ofc which is how hes able to react to 8th gate guy and use his kamui to support him. so no at the start of the war which is what i was using to prove my point in the other comment kakashi IS NOT stronger by any significant amount whatsoever.

Without question Guy could've beaten all the Pains with his Eight Gates but it wouldn't matter in the end because Pain's greatest strength was the fact that nobody knew he was controlling them from the shadows. Guy showed up to fight, then Itachi and kisame immediately ran away. Guy was the strongest guy in the village next to Itachi, and he didn't want to get a bunch of people killed for no reason.

A couple of things:
1. hirudora isn't > bijuu bomb
2. you're underestimating pain, especially with all his summons present.
3. non combat oriented pains like the animal path low diffed a legit jonin in ibiki. I get that konohomaru "beat" a path but that's an outlier. Shizune also got no diffed by a non combat oriented path. So no, neji/lee can't just "beat" a path like that
4. The naraka path can bring back defeated paths until gai/kakashi figure out that it can. This is hugely problematic because they might struggle hard af to beat the deva path for insance, only for it to be regenerated.
5. They still don't have a solution to handle demon dog summon
6. If tsunade isn't actively healing the village, then catastrophic shinra tensei is absolutely nuking the village a lot harder
7. if pain retreats to bring them closer, only for the deva path to fire a chibaku tensei. EVERYONE nearby is dead. Kakashi, gai, lee etc. Gai can only break out of that with 8 gates, which would still result in his death

1. Not all bijuu bombs are equal. We see this very directly in the jinchuriki vs jinchuriki battle in the war arc.
2. Pain is strong, but he's by far the most overestimated character in the series. People remember that he beat Jiraiya, but that's not how it happened. Jiraiya willingly chose to die after having dominated the battle, to confirm important intel.
3. Only tendo and shurado have combat oriented abilities, but it's important to remember that none of the bodies are stronger than any of the others. It's Nagato's chakra that powers them, he can literally choose to distribute the chakra how he likes. That being said, Lee is too much for any one path alone, that's not even debatable. With Neji, he's at a major disadvantage due to gentle fist being useless against them. Despite the fact that he should be comparable in a 1v1 stat-wise, his combat style is useless against them. A nitpick here, but Ibiki is NOT a jonin. He's a special jonin, which is basically a chunin whose expertise in one specific area is so great that it affords them a special rank when dealing with that specific area of expertise.
4. You're on the right track, but got lost along the way. The problem isn't jigokudo's revival ability. It's the fact that Nagato can do it himself. They cannot win without both figuring out that Pain is controlled by an outside force, and then finding Nagato before the constant waves of revives wear them down too much.
5. Guy himself is a counter to the demon dog. Blunt force that just knocks it out prevents it from splitting while also taking it out of the fight. By extension, Lee is also a suitable counter to that summon. Neji counters the chameleon, and a large number of leaf shinobi help stop the bird. The rest are just big beefy meatsacks without special abilities.
6. Remember that Tendo could only nuke the village with shinra tensei because his body survived the encounter with Kakashi. Guy being there may very well make it so that Tendo can't nuke the village at all.
7. Chibaku tensei isn't a fast jutsu. Guy and Lee are both extremely fast and hit very hard. There's no realistic way where it gets to the point that Tendo is close enough to Nagato to use Chibaku tensei while also having leaf shinobi close enough to deal damage to them. Because if they were close enough, they wouldn't give him enough time to cast the jutsu.
I think ten ten would’ve been somewhat viable taking down the deva path. She could just spam flying weapons during his cool down, and they wouldn’t be able to absorb the attack because she’s summoning actually physical weapons instead of choosing ninjutsu

her ability would be useful but since shes using it, it wouldnt be. shes to slow. pain can be scaled to well over 10x FTL while tenten doesnt even have speed of sound scaling. not to mention lightning or light. so it wouldnt rlly be useful.

Kakashi was beat handidly and all they did was give him some good moments cuz it’s Kakashi. In reality the Deva path just one shots.
guy has no abilities to combat pain so he'd do worse than kakashi did. literally half the paths of pain either have abilities that decimate people who rely on taijutsu. and then the deva path can fight on par with sage mode naruto while nerfed and cant use shinra tensei/bansho tenin. guy would get decimated. pain is just such a bad matchup for him. pain wouldnt even let guy go 8th gate. he'd see that guy has 7 gates then kill him off so hes no longer a threat..

Haven’t watched yet but 7th gate guy absolutely bullies pain. 6th gate guy was fighting well outnumbered against obitos upgraded paths of pain so the original ones should be a breeze. Also I always believed (using my headcannon) that Neji would be super effective against the paths of pain/edo tensei. They are legitimately dead bodies only functioning through chakra being sent to them, he disrupts chakra flow and is probably the best at doing it, seems like a match made in heaven. For lee judging by his war arc appearance, using the 6th gate he’s definitely sage Naruto level. Dude literally bisected madara and was physically able to keep up in the later 10 tails jinchuriki fights.
Chakra is coming from the chakra rods, which is from Nagato and not the Paths themselves.
Kisame was also able to fight against 7th Gates Guy, which obviously Kisame is weaker than Pain.
Judging from their lack of knowledge of Pain's abilities, at the time, against the Six Paths of Pain, I doubt they could beat Pain. (Assuming it's a 2v6)
However, if it's War Arc Kakashi and Guy against the Six Paths of Pain, then obviously Guy and Kakashi would win because of their experience and knowledge of countering the rinnegan.

I think Konan absolutely does make the difference... Tsunade and Guy cannot even damage her at all with basically all of their abilities, Naruto has the same issue. Most of the village does as well. Rock lee too. She has mass scale attacks to spam whenever she pleases, and she and Nagato are best buds, they obviously will have excelent team work.
So who´s gonna really get her? Kakashi is the strongest person that can really hit her and he´s a league below her. We´d be relying on random jonin, Kakashi and the Hyuga (Who cannot fly) as a lead to take her down. But she can protect the paths of pain pretty easily as her attacks are mass scale and have plenty range on top of her being one of the fastest characters in this situation.
Until Naruto brings the Toads they don´t really have the types of firepower needed to take her down realistically and by that point they really would be hurt.
Maybe if Guy bumrushed the pains he could take them down. But he could just get punished afterwards for going recklessly and taken down. So they´d need to create an opening. The other answer is Guy bothering her in the 7th while Kakashi leads the Villages Jonin against Pain, with Neji and Lee this goes 50/50 I think as Lee can release quite a lot of gates and Tsunade would be there. But I see Pain and Konan just retreating in such a case to a battlefield in the forest for extra power.
She has explosive tags and can break up her body to dodge attacks. Guy doesn't lack ninjutsu. He can summon and use all the clones and has mastered at least two chakra natures.

Wouldn't the Almighty Push/Pull be a hard counter to the Taijutsu focused Guy, Lee, and Neji though? I'm sure there's some context to how those moves work I'm missing though.
The 5 second interval makes the main pain easily blitzable for guy and lee above 5th gate . Kakashi almost 1 tapped the main Pain with just chidori amped speed , 6th gate or above is a slaughter

Depends how much nagato is channeling chakra to a specific path tendo in this case. Tendo was reacting to 6 tail naruto

Pain with all the bodies still intact doesn't have to fight as the only option. The animal path can summon the others away for a tactical retreat!
I would love this in your rewrite! Have guy take the place of kakashi in the invasion. I’ve always thought guy would fair much better than he did and having the team work of Choji and shikamaru would play to their advantage. If you wanted to take it one step further use this as guys death and let Rock lee be the first to open the all 8 gates like we should have seen.
This does kind of put this in perspective. There just weren't that many jonin level ninja with either S-Class Ninjutsu or Taijutsu around and/or the ability to blitz. Outside of those attributes I named earlier Pain isn't that strong IF he's using the six paths. I think Nagato Pain with his own not-cripple body would be terrifying even if he loses the field of vision attribute which he'd still have access to with his summoning.
Jounin are a very small minority or ninjas. There will be 10x as many chunin and 100 times as many genin.
Every year, they have classes of dozens of kids becoming genin and a few become chunin every year. Of these few chunin every year, it is just as rare to become a jounin. Kurenai was a new jounin. Neji was the only new jounin after that. Many of Naruto's era had become chunin. In the 3 year time skip, there were probably 50 new genin. 50 genin and 2 jounin.
OP rogue ninja are very rare and hunted for many years. Jounin level ninja are considered very powerful with regard to chunin, but there was a big difference between part 1 kakashi and zabuza.

I think the many rods in the pains would prevent Neji or someone similar shutting down their chakra. If it were so easy, Hinata would have done it herself. I could see Rock Lee getting work done though but I think the summoner was doing a great job of sowing confusion among the village and keeping attention off the pain bodies. Rock Lee might just find himself being distracted by custom beasts he'd never seen before and not kill off any of the bodies of pain. Might Guy would be another story, though.
The actual hinata fight vs pain was in the manga. The anime version isn't even canon.

Isn't Almighty Push gonna be a problem? Yeah it has a 5 second interval before it can be used again, but considering how Pain destroyed the entire village using said Almighty Push, if Pain manages to land it on Guy even once, it'll definitely do some damage.
None of the paths have their own durability, it's just Nagato's chakra. Tendo took more hits because it had 6x as much chakra.

Personally I think the answer is 7.
I feel like this just boils down to how long the characters stuck around in the series. Nagato dies like half way through and stays dead, while Guy lives and thus as the stakes spiral wildly out of control so do the feats. It's the plague of most shonen, especially long running ones.

How would 7th gate guy escape a planetary devestation? It took a Itachi, Naruto and bee's strongest moves combined to destroy it. Guy could just run away and come back again. But using 7th gate breaks his bones and causes pain, so ain't no way he can defeat pain with just 7 gate. He needs 8 gate.

Remember that Nagato was exhausted as well after destroying the village with the almighty push on top of being ill as well, so a fresh tendo could actually beat 7th gates guy. And if Guy uses the 8th gate, sure he beats pain but how will he find out where nagato is in time and kill him? Nagato can make other pain bodies after that.

@@mihaimercenarul7467 I agree that guy can't find nagato cuz he wasn't a sensory type , but the cool down of couple of seconds for all mighty push is enough for guy to land a hit( even though he needs to escape the attack first but considering his speed I think he can ) I am not saying that guy would win easily in this fight, the aftermath and fatigue of the 7th gate is the biggest advantage for pain but in a 1v1 guy have better chances
The world building and character design in Naruto was so fucking good. I know Boruto isn't as popular, but it makes me really happy to see Naruto as ninja president. It's really nice to always have new episodes to return to consistently.
Might guy vs Konan would have been a great fight. Her ability is a great counter because hand to hand combat is not good when she could wrap him in explosive tags. Guy would probably still win because of plot but it would be great
In that case, I personally would have liked it better if rock lee and neji fought her. Lee and neji are the only popular part 1 characters who never got a good fight in Shippuden :(
Kishimoto purposefully kept guy in a mission during that time. In the anime, a few scenes even shows that he is not in the village just to give a hint to what would happen otherwise.
hirudora can probably eat up chibaku tensei's chakra and destroy it. even if it can't absorb its chakra, the raw power alone might e enough to destroy the sphere

Great video. People really really underestimate 6th and 7th gate. Like you said asakujaku can handle tailed beats and made light work of 30 percent kisame. So it would still be a very effective attack against 100 percent kisame.
7th gate easily easily beat 100 percent kisame and like you said he was swapping hands with juubidara. He was at least pressuring him more than anyone had at that point! 7th gate is so powerful. It surpassed the 5 Kage easily

A pure "Mano a mano" match? Sure, but since he would deal with the Pains on his own, the village wouldn't just stand there looking the (epic, asskicking) fight, but rather hasten the info recollection, and figure out about Pain location (Byakugan, Senjutsu, Kakashi's / Shimamaru's deduction)
If the corpses are destroyed Nagato will need to actually go out by himself though.
If team Gai were there, pain would have been DONE. Naruto would arrive and see bodies laid out. Not overhyping gai but kakashi being there and choji’s dad gives them time to figure out pain’s abilities without burning through chakra too badly, and once they’ve figured out the reincarnation , gai would take down the deva path while lee focused on the rebirth path & helping kakashi and thé akimichi plan can handle the rest
Without watching the video is simple, Guy at 8 gates is just overkill, they have no chance, 0 dif all the 7 pains. (but Guy dies)
7th gate is now more debatable, I still think it's enough considering this form one-shot's Kisame which was one of the strongest members of the akatsuki (not counting the top 3 ofc).
I also realized how insane Neji's byakugan is in this situation, he can easily deny the chakra control over the rodes, effectively making the paths useless, Deva is still a problem, but he can deal with all the others no problem in a 1v1 scenario.

This also has me thinking now… Even though his leg is fucked; I wonder if guy would be able to open the 8th gate AGAIN and be able to use that leg while it’s open cause of all the extra chakra and plus he’d be in immense pain everywhere ELSE already from opening it lol so the leg probably wouldn’t be an issue. It’s only be in a cast for over 15 years 😂. Even if he couldn’t use the leg, he should still be able to open the 8th gate again and he could most definitely still take somebody/multiple people out with just the one leg. I’m calling it now, guys going to ACTUALLY die during Boruto by opening up the 8th gate like he was supposed to(and honestly should have) in Shipudden. Lee is going to be in a situation and say he’ll open the 8th gate to save Metal or something like that; and then guy will be like “no Lee, you have to carry on the power of youth! I’m old now with only one leg so I’ll do it” and they’ll redeem guy with a badass fight of him opening the 8th gate again and absolutely demolishing the enemy and dying from it this time since there’s nobody that would actually be able to save/heal him and it’ll be super heroic and sad for him to finally die but he’ll have sacrificed himself to save the village or some kids or SOMETHING like that 😂 they kept Guy alive for SOME goddamn reason so maybe they’re just going to kill him in an even more badass way cause even tho he did fuck Madara up for 10 seconds or whatever; it still ended up being completely pointless so him dying from that would have been terrible and I’d be happy if they let him redeem himself as “the strongest” like Madara said. Technically guy IS the strongest or at least he was before the insane power scaling in Boruto; but I don’t consider him the actual strongest because he’s only the strongest while the 8th gate is open; so only the strongest for like 5 minutes or whatever lol

I refuse to believe that speaking from the narrative of Naruto that guy could win. He is the embodiment of Tijutsu and that’s it. Without the gates there is no discussion here. The rinnegan is bodying the full ninja world pretty much. The only people who compare are the descendants of the sage of six paths.

yes, bc almight push or pull has no effect. Because a lot of Naruto clones can withstand it, Guy's time and space bending speed basically overpowers both tendo pains technique.
guy never bends time. if you read the panel it specifically says hes warping/bending space and its clearly just in a very concentrated point directed at madara hence why his staff is kinda warped..and again this is in 8th gate and if guy goes into 8th he just dies and nagato revives the paths.

Before i watch this video, im gonna say in the scenario naruto was in, without intel guy loses, even with the 7th gate i think guy would lose, he would have to activate the 8th gates to win. Remember it was the fate of the entire world that caused guy to unleash the 8th gates i dont think just this would call for it, so more than likely the highest gates is 7 and hes gonna lose with that. Approaching pain without intel is a problem for anyone, the gates are gonna take too much out of guy to use, the abilities are too numerous and varied and pain is gonna have complete control over the fight, with intel it might be a bit different,but even with all the intel naruto gathered with the toads of myoboku, ma and pa, everyone to help, pain could have killed naruto if he wanted, then he still had time to solo the 6 tails and seal it, i just dont see guy winning.
The pains are too slow to move against guy in 6 gate much less the 7. Gate konohamaru and Naruto showed they are bellow guy in speed.
If the whole village is in trouble Guy would probably risk his life

To some degree the pains scale above kisame in power speed etc, kisame who is able to react somewhat to a 7 gate guy for instance where guy was dead ass he needed 7 gates to fight a kisame without samehada after using the six gates, the konohamaru situation was a one off and it was a rasengan to the torso with a weaker path with utilization of shadowclone, thats a great combination, but honestly sage mode naruto is not really weaker than 7th gates guy in scaling, yet pain after destroying the village was still able to fight naruto, the sage creatures at the same time, killing fukasaku and putting gamabunta in a coma, naruto went 6 tails it was not enough he was still gonna lose to planetary devastation, as i said guy just does not have the skill unless he taps into gate of death immediately, but i just dont see him doing that.

I dont think 7th gates guy can defeat the paths, but if he was there, he coudl have help from his team, and Kakashi, maybe even tsunade if things went so desperated that she went to fight too. And all of them together had a great chance of winning. Also, 8th gates wins with 0 doubt, but he wouldn't find and kill Nagato so in the end Guy would lose that.

Dude go rewatch the battle it’s literally the first thing Naruto says he’s in Sage mode scouting Pain after he Destroyed Konoha and asks Katsuyu & Tsunade “Where’s my sensei?”

let me add something: if Guy was in the village, half of the village would remain dead, since Naruto wouldn't defeat Pain, and he wouldn't reach him to use talk-no-jutsu into convincing him to revive everybody. Also, it's not guaranteed that Kakashi and possible also Guy would not die in that fight, my assumptions would be that they would probably die taking down Pain with them, so actually a way worst result. Also, I'm not sure about Neji taking down any Pain, because his techniques might simply not work on them, they receive chakra trough those metal bars, so blocking chakra channels wouldn't do anything, and they are corpses, so trying to damage the vital organs would also probably do nothing, he can still defend and assist, but his attacks might simply not be efficient for that fight (his style is inflicting damage into either the chakra channels that feed internal organs or by blocking chakra points, he has no big raw physical damage jutsu like rassengan, chidori, incredible powerful punches etc.)

Konohamaru one shotted the Naraka Path, one of the weakest Paths of the Rinnegan.
Too many people hype him up for that one feat, just like how people overhype Adult Sakura vs EMS Madara, which is like saying Adult Sakura could beat Hashirama, who is slightly stronger/relative to Madara.
Gai or lee would try to asakojaku on pain, pretta pain would try to absorp it, then he would get destroyed because it's a taijutsu, same what happened to kisame.

Weirdly, I don't know if Neji would be that useful against Pain. The rods are constantly injecting Nagato's chakra, which would probably nullify the gentle fist.

I think people are gassing up Team Gai just a little bit. Tenten can't really beat any of the Paths outside of Human Path, while Neji would lose out to the Animal, Deva, and Asura Path.
Lee could probably take the Asura Path, but he's still going to be pressed pretty hard against the Animal Path and has zero chance against the Deva Path. This is true even with all 6 Gates open.
The only one worth talking about is Gai, and it's unclear how much power we want to give him. Base Gai isn't faring much better than Lee, and will only start to make a difference once he's in 5th or 6th Gate himself, where only the Deva Path is a problem.
If we're talking about 8th Gate Gai, it's an obvious stomp, but it's actually not since Gai would die as well. 7th Gate Gai could really do some damage, but it's unlikely he'd be as impressive as 6-Tails Kyuubi Naruto. That means his Tiger Bomb taijustu move, while strong enough to beat Deva Path, may not be strong enough to beat a FP Shinra Tensei or the Chibaku Tensei.
Also Gai isn't a tactical genius like Kakashi is so he'd be unlikely to pick up on the 5-second delay. That means he'd either overextend and get punished or be more cautious and allow him to recover.
Basically Team Gai only makes a difference if they're there with the rest of Konoha. 8th Gate Gai cleans up with no fuss, but he's dying afterwards so that's hardly a W
Sage mode naruto was able to lift 50 percent karuma by the tail and slam him to the ground. Kurama has to weigh a few tons so him being able to do that is a big deal. Even though he wasn't able to hurt him he was also able to knock him around with massive rasengans and rasenshurikens while in sage mode. When naruto kicks pain in sage mode it sends him flying but he's able to survive it so pain is alot more durable than you make it out in this video. Yes one of them was taken out by a child but it was caught off gaurd and the rasengan is an extremely powerful jutsu that can take anyone out if they are caught off gaurd by it.

So the mission the Guy and his team is on still needs to be done and probably on the same timeline they are doing it. So what if Kakashi and a group of Konoha 13 had gone on it instead so Guy doesn't have Kakashi to rely on to help with these fights?
