You say D’arcy, but I got to keep coming back to Jimmy. He keeps driving songs to the brink but can hold it together. Top 5, top tier rock drummer.

I think that we were robbed of seeing where Melissa would have gone with the band, cause her live performance style was SO dynamic, it really matched the energy of the music more than D'arcy's, honestly. And Billy might have even let Melissa play on the albums, haha.

I will make an exception for the current bass player, as he is the son of Peter Hook from Joy Division/New Order, so he gets a pass from me, too, haha.

I agree, Melissa was as good if not better than D'Arcy. She was also an amazing back up vocalist, both with Hole and The Pumpkins.

I always enjoyed the deep cuts from the Pumpkins much more than their famous singles. A special Tip would be: Gossamer, a Song that never made it on any Album. If you never heard of it, search for it on RUclips, there’s a phenomenal live Performance of it. Gossamer is a behemoth of a Song, 30 minutes long with some Parts reminding me of Pink Floyd, the Finale is my favorite Moment I’ve seen between Billy and Jimmy just rocking out! Highly recommended!

Love it. Can't beat a bit of live guitar rock, some squealing and some chair bouncing. 😁😁 You're gonna have to do some live Rainbow or Deep Purple or something. 1979 is that song that's like it for a lot of bands. Extreme was the same when they had the big ballad hit with More Than Words that was nothing like 90% of their other stuff. Midnight Oil's another one, most people only know Beds are Burning because it's the big radio hit that broke them worldwide but great as it is they have a hundred better songs.

  • @cactustactics

lmao I've never seen someone have so much fun listening to the pumpkins. It's nice to imagine them watching this and being all "awww heck yeah :3" (I mean they should already be doing that, this performance is wild!)
1979's a cool song but yeah, it doesn't really represent their range. I wonder how many people skipped to it on the album and got a surprise by what comes after

  • @Lateralus138

As a SP enthusiast from the beginning you're 100% correct '1979' is by far one of the most overrated songs in existence and not their apex and though I love 99.9% of the discography I absolutely don't like 1979... The album version of this song is one of my favorites. This (double) album is the last of their best though. The later albums are okay, but I can't sit there and listen to them all the time like I can the first 3 and the EP Pisces... Appreciate the reaction...

Hmm, let's see off the top of my head for the 90's I'd go with something by James, just a great British band, maybe Ring The Bells. 80's I'd have to go with my teenage favourite band, Iron Maiden - I'd have to spend all day deciding which song though. 😂 For the 70's I'd go Stranglers - No More Heroes
