Boats hitting bridges, planes falling apart, trains derailing, food and meat facilities burning down. The pattern recognition part of my brain is telling me "Nothing to see here, move along".
Deregulation. Thanks Republicans
You guy's ever get tired of going from minor disaster to minor disaster screaming about how each one is proof that the world is about to end, or the country collapse?
My brain is telling me that we have an incompetent transportation secretary who is simply not doing the job he was hired to do. Get rid of him! Replace him with someone who is actually qualified for the job.

You'd think that fema, the people who's job it is to respond to emergency situations, would have had some time in their full time jobs working on emergency response plans to plan for possibilities like this...
You're in the USA, you barely pay taxes and you do that for a reason. That means you'll need to deal with the limited emergency and government services you get as a result.

Is it normal for boats to be hitting bridges this often? I think I've seen like 3 or 4 boats hitting bridges in the last few months.

Yes. It happens pretty frequently.
@@TechnoGeek18023 no no it doesn't. I'm 47 and never seen anything like what is going on. Stupid if you ignore all this.
It's not always a boat hitting a bridge. A gas tanker conveniently crashed and blew up under an overpass on I-95 in Connecticut a couple weeks ago.

It could be, but very likely some arse committing arson.
...and yet the CNN crowd would spit 'conspiracy theorists' out like it was a bad taste in their mouths. Oh, okay... In 60 years, I've never seen so many barges magically losing control and destroying key bridges. Nothing to see here though...
Well, why would this be sabotage? I mean outside of a possible insurance scam to get a new bridge built for that island, there is nothing nefarious about this incident. No mass conspiracy to seek to destroy all our bridges. I mean, why would you target a bridge that only goes to a couple small factory buildings and a university campus that just finished up their semester and graduations? Likewise, why would some nefarious power seek to destroy the Francis Scott Key bridge at 3 in the morning instead of during rush hour 5 hours later?
Simple facts like this make me highly doubtful of any grand conspiracy going on because none of the events and facts point to it.
@@bl8388 I agreed but youtube deletes almost every comment I make
Geez Texas, were you feeling left out?
Texas has disasters like this on the reg, its common
@quesadilla79 wrong.. this is rare but with the massive storms and rising waters with record floods it's still worth investigating who's the idiot that let this happen
@@quesadilla79 Genuine question about that. Is it actually happening more than usual? Or are they just showing us the normal stuff that "happens on the reg" more than usual?
Odd the reporters didn't even mention the bridge collapse by barge in Maryland, recently. Not even concern about, "are barge operators being tested for drugs/alcohol or up to date on licenses?" Has anyone been detained for questioning?
Huh
can we stop hitting the bridges?
For real!
Any barge captains out there? Now listen up ladies and gents. I don't know what those bridges did to you all. You're right, if I knew I'd be pissed, too. I get it. But we need you bridges, and you captains, to work this out. Be professional, both sides. (Glares at the bridges. Points menacingly at the captains.)
No more hitting each other. I don't care if the bridge started it.

@@maybemablemaples2144 ah yes blame capitalism. Cus communism is so much better.
The Feds might need to reevaluate the maratime industry.
Maybe regulations? It’s in Texas they ain’t having it.
Like everywhere else, people are letting the rules that are in place slide. Those doing so have not been educated on why you should follow rules even if you don't get their purpose. Instead, they were taught that the rules made by a corrupt patriarchy, are just to keep them down.
The Feds are probably in on it.
Honestly most the bridges cannot handle the kind of ships and barges that are now around. Cities have cut funding for re-enforcement of bridge structures, and this is the result. A lot of these bridges need to be replaced they well past their experiation date given what now exists.
The feds are probably behind it.
I kept reading Bridge hit bridge.

When bridges hit each other thats when things are really getting serious.
...don't see any clean-up efforts (Coast Guar or otherwise)! That dark line of floating oil took some time to stretch as far as it has. One would think in such a heavily trafficked shipping area there would already be rapid oil-spill response unit(s) ready/available wouldn't one?

Another bridge, ha? People may still be thinking that we are in peacetime after the destruction of all these bridges.

Wind and Solar Don't Spill!
They also won't actually run our economy. The batteries along would wipe out half the planets leftover reserves of lithium. Or something crazy like that. Unfortunately, it's just not enough. Let alone every 15-20 years it would need to ALL be ripped out, windmills, solar panels and batteries and COMPLETELY replaced. No one seems to talk about any of this. Nuclear is definitely the way to go. With a combination of hydro, solar and wind to supplement. But you simply can't run the U.S. economy on wind and solar. It's not realistic. Let alone, it's ignoring the super obvious fact that.... barges would still go down our rivers. They don't only move oil and gas. But ALL major exports from the Midwest end up going down the Mississippi.
LOL just LOL......
Yea and wind and solar don’t generate enough power . Buy and electric car and drive too California and let us know how that works out for you.
Something else they don't do is generate a sufficient amount of electricity.
