@@Marshy2020 from my experience with that you get the colours you want onto a child from them. For example if you have 3 snow owls with different colour regions you like, get 2 of them to have a child with those colours...this can take awhile. Also you'll need to be able to have that child breed with the 3rd snow owl to get the final colour region

dude i tried to get perfect stats. suddenly when i hatched 1 egg i got twins both with perfect stats and opposite gender, its the dream!
yeah that is pretty satisfying to be honest. it is rare but u can get twins with perfect stats and opposite gender. this just simplifies the breeding process by a lot.

I've been playing for two years, still trying to understand breeding, since the tames are my favourite part.

Honestly, I bought the game like 3-4 weeks ago, and i've already found a great tribe, started from 1 person, to 3, to now 7. But yeah i'm really trying hard to understand all the breeding and mutations. But it's just so confusing, lmao like it really shouldn't be, especially for a game!

It easier if you stack the same type of mutations, creating multiple breeding zones of each mutacion for example the mele zone, the health zone etc
Fun Tip when it comes to keeping track of stats. You make folders in the inventory of a Dino. So you can make a folder for all the relevant stats like Stamina, HP, ATK, Weight, whatever that dino is primarily going to be used for, you don't really need to track the rest honestly. On that folder you just name it say "HP 7000" and "ATK 390" yada yada. Then you can use the Dino for whatever you want inbetween using them for breeding without getting lost on what their base stats were.
Confused now as I was before, it makes sense while I’m watching, but when it’s time to hit the rubber to the road in game I just stand there confused and pace back and forth from Dino to Dino trying to figure shit out !! Lol

If you really want to make a super rex line, you have to be picky with your mutations. For instance, if your perfect parents produced a baby rex with a melee mutation, you would want to continue trying to stack melee mutations on that line. Start a separate line (using the same perfect parents) for each stat you want to mutate, only keeping mutations on that specific stat. In the end, combine the lines and now you have your super rex line. Start breeding and imprinting.
The hardest thing about the process is being so far with in it and seeing that a new creature spawned and it has better stats than the ones you started with for mutations

@@jiimypants4775 he afks and has multiple females breeding with males I am on console so no mods but I have 5 females breeding with the male and I get quite a bit of eggs usually hatch like 10 per 3:00 min period (hatching and maturation rates are 50x)

I will say this. The first time I watched this, I was confused. So I went on my server and tried it out. I came back after having gotten my first desired mutation working towards the second and all of this made sense. Great video man
i got random level of perfect female + perfect male breeds :( (sometimes lower but mostly the same level as the parents). sometimes higher levels than the parents but no mutation :/
The only thing I'd like to add to this guide is once you get your Perfect M and Perfect F and start breeding them, keep any extra females that did not come with any mutations. Using the video as a template example, if you got a lvl 290 female baby, this means it'll have the exact same stats as the current Perfect M and Perfect F without any mutations. It'll basically be an exact copy (statwise) of your current Perfect F.
I'd say keep the females until you have about 12 of them total. Now you can breed all the females at once with a single male. Once you get a male with the mutation you want, you can breed that male with the dozen Perfect F you have, increasing your chances of furthering the mutation chain x12. If you get a female with the mutation you want instead, you can breed that mutated female with your original Perfect M until you get a male version of the mutated female you want, then take that male and breed them with the dozen females to again, further the mutation chain.
Technically speaking, you don't need 12 females necessarily. You can do less (though I'd recommend at least 8) or you can do more. The only thing about Rex's and other large dinos is you kind of have a soft cap as to how many females you can realistically use since they have to be close enough to the male to mate yet leave you enough space to maneuver.

xdxd xdxd syntac exemple is with 1 perfect female and 1 Perfect male , while breeding you will not always have mutated child, so they will have the same stats that there parents so if it’s a female you can also make it breed with the perfect male ,since you will have 2 female , double the egg so it’s easier to have more eggs so more chances of having a mutation

I have twin rhinos Nd I’ve been breeding only those since my others were killed in a raid, so far they had (f) 3 kids and then those 3 + mom had 4 kids (f), every single one came out with the same stats not a single slight change in stats and they are all lvl 189, do I get a new male breeder( although it will have the same stats as all the other ones) or do I tame a wild one

I'd wish there would be a video which takes the breeding 1 Step further. This explanation is actually one of the best I've seen so far for the basics, but few friends of mine played on official servers in mega tribes and their breeders did actually some sick stuff with their dinos....
Sometimes they went out and caugh actually some low level dinos to breed them with their lines. My speculation is to erase some other stats like oxygen, since even a lvl 100 bred dino can still take the big numbers from the parents. I experimented a bit with low levels and after breeding 300+ dinos with lets say 40k hp and 500 melee, I also managed to breed a level 180 with those stats. But i'm still not sure about the erasing part and maybe I missunderstood something while breeding my dinos.
And for the most awkward and interesting part, people could actually ask those breeders for a specific coloration and and stats and the breeders could actually tell exactly how many generations it will take them to get to this point. Apparently there is a way to calculate mutations.
But there is literally not a single guide taking on those points, or even mentioning something in this direction
Can't tell exactly how many generations but you can give an estimate. Google and use Ark Smart Breeder. It's really useful for breeding.
And yes catching low level oxy or food lines can be useful as well. There is a max level a dino can be. If you have max level on a dino than u would want to breed it with low level oxy or food to make it go down levels so you have more levels to mutate for better stats.
SO HELPFUL! Honestly I learned more from this guide than the "for dummies" one. Currently breeding an army of OP Shadowmanes. :D

On official i guess its the best to get the mutation on a male and breed it with as many non mutated female as possible because of the low chance of a mutation and the long times between the possible trys

Pretty much spot on, I'm a breeder or official an unoffical pc, ps4 and Xbox. Only thing is I split my mutations in separate lines to focus the one mutation like health or melee and combine them later on. So I can have my perfect M with say 5 females with all the same mutation to drop 5 eggs everytime to speed up the process. You pretty much scratched the basics to breeding with mutations and prob the better informed video I've seen yet.

Planning on getting a hyper-mutated argy in my Ragnarok world but damn this looks like it will take forever
Not sure if relevant cuz it's been 5 months but you can speed up this process by keeping every 'perfect/base' female you get, and using mutated males to breed with all your females. If you get a mutated female breed that with your base/perfect male till you get a mutated male (same stats) wich can then take place of your base/perfect male and start breeding with all your perfect females again.

No cos ur not trying to mutate them curtain stats.
Sorry if i'm late, if they are the same level they should have the same stats. All of them. Be sure that all the stats are the same so you don't have to check by claiming and u can just check levels
U want 2 identical parents. Not because it is necessary (so u don't need to have identical weight/oxy/food or wichever stats you don't want mutations in), but because it lets you quickly go through your born babies and check by level. If your 'base/perfect' pair doesnt have 100% identical stats, u need to claim each baby and check manually. (Don't recommend this as you will eventually get tens of base females to breed with wich exponentially increase your amount of eggs you're hatching daily)

Question. Why would u slot back in the perfect M if u already had a mutated male? Why wouldn't u just use that one?

Because it's needed if u have a female with mutation and u want to get a male out of her
And, if for some cases u lose the mutated males, via raid or accident, it's always safe to have a perfect male too
The mutation from the male is already in the female (because they were both melee), so its pretty much useless and having that extra mutation just fills up space for the 40 mutations available for that creature.

Thanks to this video I got my first mutation and it is dubble mutated , but it is melee and weight. I want melee and health. Should I use it or not
On mobile, we use the pheromones on the females to increase mutation chance
This tutorial was extremely easy to follow! I feel like you included everything that is needed to know, especially the part about why you might not see your mutations (that part always confused me). I tried watching videos a while back and had no idea what they were talking about. I've since taught myself through trial and error, but I wish this video was around back when I was looking! Also, for any others needing tips, I usually keep track of my stats inside each dino's inventory by labeling folders with the stats: H1000 S800 etc. To make it easier to compare them all, I'll copy the info into a google doc, but that part isn't necessary.
This the most clear guide and I've watch 4 separate ones bravo.

Need some BIG help. I bet I sound stupid but how do you combine the stats? I've been breeding for longer than I care to remember and I can't combine the stats: either they have the wrong stats or it has a mutation. I'm completely lost and really about to give up on trying to fight the bosses, really turned me off the game for a while.
A little tip i can give is to combine them slowly. Rather than straight up combing all the stats at once, maybe combine one stat at a time? If a rex has good health and stam, for example and another has good melee and weight, try combining the health and stam with melee. Then combine the health + stam + melee rex with weight. One step at a time. Hope this helps?
