Max where can you help me find a bottle of Gucci Envy? This was the signature scent of my father growing up and want to find bottle! Please help!! Thanks much in advance - sincerely Dr Hetland
You guys are on another level ! So much knowledge, so much passion... You are so very much complimentary in your choices and approaches. Fascinating...
Excellent Max! Very awesome collaboration video there! I love this team, so please keep up the great work we are right there with you guys! Max I'm so glad with this episode, got me hooked. Looking forward to the next (2000). I love Samsara (the only fragrance for women I couldn't do without - and couldn't find after finishing 2 bottles!), so I'm glad it at least was honorably mentioned. I expected Givenchy Pi, Versace The Dreamer and the ORIGINAL CK Obsession in the Honorable Mentions. Anyway, great video. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts, experiences and expertise with the rest of us! See you soon. 😍
I ( a female) had a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme in 2002, a guy I dated wore it and I loved it. He went back to Brazil and I ended up getting myself a bottle because I missed it so much. Not unisex at all but I loved wearing it. I bought a little vial of Le Labo Lavande 31 a while ago and it reminded me of D& G pour homme although nowhere near as good. 90s was a glorious decade for innovative perfumes!
what fun! I think my personal list of the 90s couldn't do without Rush (Michel Almairac for Gucci) and Black (Annick Menardo for Bvlgari), and a lot from L'Artisan although I only discovered them circa 2001
This was awesome. As a kid of the 90's, 90's fragrances hold a very special place in my heart. I feel like the 90's is when fragrance transcended the beauty products space and became somewhat of a cultural phenomenon. I think the 90's is when men's fragrance in particular, really started to transition away from the heavy fougeres and barbershop scents of the 70's and 80's and more into aquatic and even fruity/floral scents for men. Aqua di Gio was part of pop culture in the 90's, as were fragrances like Le Male, CK One and Platinum Egoiste... but I remember walking into Marshall Fields around the holidays here in Chicago and there literally being lines at the fragrance counter for ADG when I was a kid- and that would've been in the early 2000's so it was big for a long time.. I was gifted "cologne" as we called it back then for every major birthday and holiday, I absolutely loved it. I credit the popularity of fragrance and it's ubiquity in the 90's to my eventual love for the hobby
As usual Max a great review, Collaboration. Reminisce, I was wondering like you Max one of my all time favorite fragrances is Dolce Gabanna pour Homme. I own about 7 bottles Italian and German. I also own the after shave Italian version. Do you own a bottle of the aftershave as well?
Angel was my sister’s signature scent when I was a kid. I’d never smelled anything like it. Iconic. My favorite ‘90s scents: Guerlain Heritage, Balenciaga Pour Homme, and Chanel Egoiste. I, too, wore Polo Sport as a teen. Great lists. I love Declaration in particular. I wore a lot of Le Male and Curve that decade as well
Pi... Ceasars man... Gucci noble... obsession... Acqua di Gio... RED by Giorgio Beverly Hills Red and Caesars man was the most complimented fragrances I have ever worn By Women of all ages! So much so...they became my signature go to's as I still wear them both to this day and catch just as many, if not more compliments than the newer stuff out now that I have in my collection
I'm from west of tehran , i had this friend who put orginal D&G which you mentioned and released in 1994 , but it year 1999 and i remember every time he was going out he picked the girl easy , over 50 or 60 girlfriend just in summer 1999 😂
Minotaure my Signature Scent Versace blue Jeans Issey Miyake These are the parfum I discovered innthe 90's Thanks to Minotaure, I didn't feel I need to discover more fragrances
Amazing educational and entertaining I’m glad to see Declaration for me the ultimate creation , I agree on Angel the BR540 of the 90’s enjoyed it very much
People may scoff at CK Calvin klein but come on many of us had all their 1990s releases...but what CK perfume does stand out for me was the womens Obsession...thick and powerful and I remember smelling it again about eight/ten years ago and it still blew me away at the quality and was exactly how I remembered it..and yeah totally agree with polo sport..what a perfume that was..all of the honorable mentions blew my mind and remember them all but one that wasn't mentioned "I don't think" was Versace's "The Dreamer" very much like D&G pour homme
DECLARATION DE CARTIER!!!! WHAT A MASTERPIECE The first time I ware it /smell it It was a day I found myself how I supposed to be smell! I got the Johnson's baby powder and cool water cologne - Snoop Dogg. Cool Water and Obsession were the smells of the 90's. Everything else was for high schoolers.
My favorites from the 90's L'Eau Dissey and Bvlgari Pour Homme, the latter for me the most comforting fragrance ever, both by Jaques Cavallier. I really appreciate this videos, this is entertainment!!! Thank you guys!!!
I suggest you do this for designer and niche separately. And folk would be more interested in 2000s and 2010s list. Many of 1990s sound too old to be liked partly because they are old school as perfumery is more developed now and partly because the they have been reformulated thereby losing their old charm and performance.
It would be interesting to see the same video but switching picks. Persolaise chooses his favorites of what he wore in the 90s and Max picks his current favorites born in the 90s.
It's not just you Max. The original D&G was/ is insane! Best compliment getter EVER. Best smelling, and confidence inducing fragrance EVER. I'm with you. If I had to get rid of everything, and keep just one forever, it would be the same, and I can't even imagine getting tired of it.
Lalique Lion, MINOTAURE, Janni Versace VERSUS, Dreamer,Sculpture, Dune, Blue Jeans Versace, Boss bottled, Davidoff CW,Roma , JPG LE MALE, Joop PH, Malizia Vetiver , Isey Miyake PH, Kenzo PH ( with watermelon on the bottle),and many others!
That's hilarious how the girlfriend's mother got you the women's version. 😂 I can't imagine how I'd react. Probably crack a joke. "Oh good! My boobs are just coming in." Heritage, Egoiste, Platinum Egoiste, Ambre Sultan, D&G Pour Homme, Tommy, Lalique Pour Homme, Envy, Polo Sport, Jaipur, L'eau d'Issey, ADG, Allure Homme, Pi, Le Male, A*Men, Boss No.6, Opium Pour Homme, just goodie after goodie after goodie that decade. So glad to have experienced the original formulations at the time. I think 212 was from the 90s too. My sotd. You and I will always share that love of 1994 D&G Pour Homme though Max. The tonka in that fragrance...so masterfully done.
@@MaxForti The zebra 🦓 D&G is a forgotten one, cool that you mentioned it. I remember smelling it at the store a lot but was just a teenager then with no money. Then it disappeared and haven’t crossed my mind in 20+ years. Glad that you brought it back to life 👍⭐️
My goodness how did I forget that one on my list!.... an absolutely stunning fragrance, where with each spray ...you knew the compliments would come rolling in by the boatloads
