Let me know what is your favorite CLASSIC fragrance/perfume from this decade and stay tuned for the upcoming episodes featuring the 1980's, 1990's, 2000's and 2010's... Have a great day!

1970's: Rive Gauche tops my list....also original Opium, Chloe, Halston.....and Halston Z14 (men), of which I still have my original bottle and I occasionally open it for a sniff of magic

Max Forti & Persolaise Perfumes : What a great series and collaboration! New to the fragrance community, but as a child of the 70's (although most of my 'true living' was in the 80's & 90's as a teen/young adult), I cannot help but liken the Pierre Cardin bottle to the architect Lautner's Chemosphere building featured in Brian de Palma's 'Body Double'. The film's premise lends itself to the fougere/hairy chest 'heaviness' of the EDT. Looking forward to the rest of the series !

Finally found Persolaise's opinion on Chanel No. 19! He likes it. Thank Heaven.
I was a teenager having fun in a cosmetics store, sampling one fragrance after another, and then I smelled Chanel 19 and everything changed. It was the most beautiful thing. And it was in a bottle! I actually remember looking all around the store, in shock, so much seemed to change for me in that moment. Why hadn't I smelled it before? Why doesn't every person on Earth wear it, all the time? It was the answer to *everything.*
Imagine my dismay as I grew up and read reviews of Chanel 19 that described it as cold or... worse. *sigh, shaking head* It's not. It's amazing. It's love in a bottle, really it is. I collect it because of course I do. ( Good tip about Japan! My daughter is fluent in Japanese, we'll have to take a trip.)

The mid 1990s saw a brief nostalgic resurgence of 70's style and music: think bell bottoms, afros and movies that mimicked those from the 1970's.

Happy belated birthday Max!! Salivating at all those vintage bottles. 🤤 I'll always remember the 70s as the golden age for rock music. Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Kiss, Rush, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, the list goes ON. Polo and Azzaro Pour Homme both hugely influential for me as well. YSL's Pour Homme, No.19, Z-14, Eau d'Orange Verte even the original Ted Lapidus Pour Homme in the orange bottle. Only got to smell that one once, but man did it embody that bottle colour. Smooth and spicy orange leather. Really miss those scents.

Thanks for that walk down memory lane. My late Dad wore Pierre Cardin back in the day and I absolutely loved Polo Green. I loved how you described the Polo Green when you said it screamed "Status" because of the people wearing it back then. My mother's signature scent was YSL Rive Gauche!! I was a little boy and I remember her wearing this beautiful fragrance in the 1970s. I remember whenever she wore this scent it would envelope the room. She also wore L'air Du Temps. Sentimenal memories. My dad had Pierre Cardin. I loved it then and I love it today. I have a bottle of it. Momma passed away in October of 2018.

Was just thinking of a few more. I realize they’re not high end, designer frags, but we all grew up with them. Our dads wore them. Sure, they may seem passé and bottom shelf at this point, but just for nostalgia sake, I’d love to see an episode featuring the scents of our youths. English Leather, Old Spice, Brut, British Sterling, etc. 😁

Hi , please I have a question ... does shaking fragrance , or different temperatures affecting its smell and performance ??
Coz I tend to take my bottle with me to anywhere if I will be outdoors for more than 5 hours .. like work for example..
I purchased a bottle last week, and after taking it daily with " I walk a lot ... so , so much shaking on the road " and I start to feel the fragrance smells different than when just purchased it , I feel it becomes more " sweaty or something " , I was able to feel it a bit sharp, and if there is spices at the opening, now this is not the case , what makes me sad ..
