WOW, I was NOT expecting this video to have blown up! I expected 200 views max, 2k is absolutely insane! You'll be happy to know that I've just finished shooting A Silent Voice. I will try to have it up by this time next week, but I cannot make promises as I have a mandatory trip coming up. I did not expect the channel to get this kind of traction early on, so it will be 2-3 weeks before this channel has a regular schedule. Same goes for my reactions to Shogun, Black Sails and Cowboy Bebop, all of which I plan to finish reacting to, but everything is on a bit of a backlog now to accommodate all of this. Believe me, it's not for lack of wanting to do so, if I could shoot and edit 24/7 I would, because I'm having a blast so far. I look forward to you seeing my reaction to A Silent Voice, and if you have any more recommendations please let me know. Just the title will do fine, no other info about it is needed as I like going into films as blind as humanely possible 🙂

This is probably the 15th time i've watched a reaction to this movie. But i gotta say, your reaction was hands down the best. The connections you realized and your theorising was better than any other reaction ive seen.
I think what makes Your Name so incredibly strong is not just the well-written characters, but that it combines the Freaky Friday story with time travel and a deadly disaster to create a surprising plot for the second half of the movie. At the same time, the connection between the characters is not neglected. Simply a great movie.
I just found your channel and became my favorite one. Love how you focus on every material of the movie like Animation, Music, stories etc. There are some great anime movies out there so I’m really looking forward to seeing you reacting to them soon
The animation, the soundtrack, the characters and story are all terrific - the plot devices like communicating through their phones! So much to marvel at in Your Name. I got to know about it a while before it came out on blu-ray because RUclips suggested Sparkle, the BIG Radwimps song for this one. The bonus is once you've seen the movie, you get to enjoy other people's reactions, and at various points, you just go, "...and the big reveal in 3, 2, 1... yup. I did that too..." Weathering With You is a whole different set of emotions and (if you will), flavours; just about managed to follow this. And Suzume - freshly released at the time of writing this - is all-new kinds awesome in my opinion. For a more condensed Shinkai experience, with more grown up themes, try The Garden Of Words...
Remains as my fave anime movie of all time cause of the flawless animation, the plot twists, the unforgettable characters and ofc the amazing amazing scores and OST! 😊❤ so glad you enjoyed it too ☺️👍
Fun fact! Makoto Shinkai, the film’s director, confirmed in an interview that Taki and Mitsuha did end up getting married after the movie’s conclusion. Easily my favorite movie of all time

One of my favourite series, even if it turns out you remember everything, I will leave comments and fun facts about the story and production on every video. For starters, Violet Evergarden was made by the same studio and most of the same people who made A Silent Voice! Sadly, it was the last project many of them worked on.
Btw your reaction is just amazing!!! Broo you should watch 'I want to eat your pancreas' next as it will make you feel the same way as you felt during this one though the plot is completely different. Then you should go for 'a silent voice'. Or vice-versa as you preference, just my opinion 😅
Great reaction and review. Your thoughts on movies nowadays hiding in a "safe space of irony" ring incredibly true to me. Emotions evoked by stories like LotR (great example) do indeed necessitate a certain willingness to be vulnerable as you really have to pull it off, otherwise it becomes schlock. Lesser writers don't dare risk it.
Thank you. It's a sentiment that makes me gravitate towards foreign cinema, even if it is more big budget foreign cinema such as Japanese anime (independent anime studios notwithstanding). I'd much rather a film would make me cringe with melodrama than have it be self-deprecatory and self aware, as if it can gaslight the audience into thinking the film has stones.
After years of thinking about this movie, I've decided the best part about it is that no one gives any spoilers. Everyone just automatically agrees, somehow, that a new viewer must experience it fresh, and so the reviews/synopses always limit themselves to describing only the starting premise before saying, essentially, "and then even more happens". Well, and some write-ups will go into general themes; but never plot details.

On the point of the ending of this movie, your correct, the director could end the movie at the bridge. But this movie is also the director response to the critics he received after The Place Promised in Our Early Days and 5cm per Second, two movies he made early were more or less he touch the same themes but were he culd not give them a proper ending to the "romance". There are several interviews were he explain why and how his early career success and "failures" movies conditioned his storytelling and finally why here he culd make a proper ending XD.
You should check out the director's other movies if you want a movie very similar but a completely different experience watche the movie called weathering with you, there's also two other movies that I recommend that he made one called Garden of words and the other called 5 cm per second
