The lip on the vat is made for the slit on the build plate so that it hangs and drips into the vat :D
Did he not mention this?
It’s also why the build plate is flat. This is a great feature that all printers should have. Great job Qidi. $449 on Amazon.
@@willmuckel9131 Nah cause he was learning on the fly so he didn't seem to give it a 2nd look, it's no biggie we know now :D
you review the Qidi Shadow 5.5s, gave it a great review, picked it up myself, have been printing great for 9 months now!
I have the S-box printer, also has the same build plate, there is a plate holder built into the resin vat, so when you take the build plate off you can let it sit and drain into the vat
Was just going to mention the same thing
Yep! Completely erases any concerns of resin pooling with that feature
Your wife is such a great sport!
My first printer was the Qidi Shadow 6, I learned so much with my little RGB, their support is top notch! If It wasn't for a locked board I would have loved to get this one.
Love the "drop test."
Thanks!
I agree with your review.
I almost got excited about this machine; price per performance seemed good for the features and hardware it's got, but like a lot of folks, the locked board means a big ol Nope. Guess its time to check in on Vulcan and see how their open board project is progressing.
Kioxia are the company at the front of pioneering most SSD technology.
it has a bracket you can set the plate on to drain the resin back into the vat.
As a workaround for the flat build plate top, would it work to just set the entire printer at a slight angle? Or would that affect the prints negatively?
Hi I also have the I box mono and I have not yet had one single print that is good beside the light matrix test print. But not matter what setting or support I use I cant get a single print to finish with support.... Can you maybe share your profle and settings?
I'm a fan of QIDI - have had a couple FDM printers they created, one which has been running almost continuously since 2018 with very little maintenance. Their customer support is good too - helped me replace the motherboard in an FDM QIDI X-MAX. I think their build quality is on par with EPAX.
Unfortunately with the ChiTuBox lock I will not be purchasing this printer.
Where did you buy your Qidi printers from? I don´t find any trustworthy sellers in europe... :(
I bought mine off Amazon and replacement parts from QIDI directly on eBay.
Thanks^^
mate what would you recommend as the best exposure settings for Anycubic EC EV Resin? I'm really struggling
Same price as the Mighty 4K with smaller build volume? Thats going to be a tough sell.
Are you able to provide a personal ranking of all the mid size printers you have? I’m in the market for one, but getting lost amongst the many printers! Not many comparisons out there between the mighty/mono x/ saturn/ ibee/halot sky etc.
Honestly for me so far, all my mid-size so far have been great, hard to pick one out, testing the Halot Sky right now and that one seems excellent so far also :O
@@3dprintingpro212 Thanks Greg! I suppose we can’t complain about being spoilt for choice in good machines!!
They're all the same. Just make sure it uses a monochrome screen and 4k if it's around 8.9" screens
Lychee has a profile and saves to .ctb I don't think its locked
We like you, for telling us the things you dont like. ;-)
According to Amazon this printer is $100 more than the Elegoo Saturn but it has the same build volume. They need to price it more competitively. I like the hinge top lid but I think the flat build plate would be a no-go for me because I know I'd make messes trying to remove it from the machine after a print.
The build plate has bracket built into it that lets you mount it at a 90 degree angle so it can drip off into the vat when the print is done. It's a bummer that he didn't mention this because they definitely anticipated people having issues with the flat build plate and engineered in a solution
It's $350 for cyber Monday
Just bought this machine. Would you be willing to share your print settings?
I need this too. It's rough trying to work through all this out yourself.
1:45 - Ta dah!
Kioxia is Toshiba
yep thanks, I forgot to check! :)
any chitubox locked printers i do not even look at anymore. once they open it up it might be a different story.
That top hinge didn't look so magical, lots of flex.
Yeah you can't be too rough with it I don't think! But if you are a bit careful I don't think it'll break :)
Are you still helping people? I can't figure it out.😢
