I wouldn't have met my wonderful and beautiful wife and have my baby boy if Nicholas hadn't rescued her grandfather from Prague. It's incredible that it has taken so long to create a movie about him! Eternally grateful.
There are more movies in the whole story, like what they did after the war, the ones in the UK ❤ I've just seen the film. Not a dry eye 👀 in the cinema 😢
Saw this movie yesterday. So moving. I've never cried so much at a movie. 😢 Proves that one person can make a difference. Excellent performance by Anthony Hopkins and Helena Bonham Carter.
Same. I started crying when the first kids were put on the first train and said their final goodbye to their parents. 😢 Edit: Seeing those poor children in the film reminded me of what the poor children of Gaza are going through right now. 🙏
Whatever you do, avoid any and all posts about this movie on TikTok and Instagram. Genuinely disgusting and miserable people in the comments. An amazing story with the perfect cast to tell it.
Recall writing a letter to Yad Vashem back around the year 2000 in support of having Nicholas Winton’s amazing feat of rescuing 669 children, recognised by Yad Vashem which, praise God, has long since happened
Some critics call it predictable, the public seem to love it. Think I'll go and see it. Went to see it today. It's a well made moving story of a man with great empathy and humanity who struggles with feelings he could have done more to save more children left behind to die. You would have to have a heart of stone not to shed a few tears during this movie. Both Nicholas's gave strong performances.
Whats more predictable than history? Its important that no one ever forgets the amazing things some do for fellow humans as well the atrocities others commit. Critics, not a fan sometimes
Everyone going on about how Sir Anthony Hopkins is good as the older Sir Winton, but I think Johnny Flynn is looking just as good as the younger version
I will watch this movie, and also own it on DVD. """ One Life"" Is an inspiration that will warm the heart, and soul. I have watched the trailer, and I know the movie will leave a lasting impression, so I recommend it.
Yes, I watched the movie. It was wonderful and at the same time it was difficult. I saw Jewish children suffering from Nazism? At the same time, I remembered the children of Gaza in Palestine dying of hunger. O world, save the children of Gaza from the aggressive Israeli bombing. This is a terrorist act.
After long time I 'll buy a cinema ticket again. Silent real heroes like Sie Nicolas Winton are the best. I think that Sir Anthony Hopkins really is a good choice for the role. ❤
Just saw the movie. I had seen clips of the real Nicholas and was intrigued so kept watch as to when the movie was coming out. It was released in selected theatres, so hard to find, but find I did. The movie was inspiring as it honored this amazing man in a very simple way. The storytelling, which is real to my great chagrin, was superb. What a MUST see movie.
Not to dimish what this amazing man did, but I hope one day we can also see the story of the Swedish diplomat and what he managed to achieve in Hungary or the Japanese Vice-Consul of Lithuania.

Now make a 2023 version of what the survivors family’s are doing to the Palestinians. This movie has been made 150 times same story same atrocities. But that don’t give them the right to do it to other people and use the trauma they went trough as an excuse. Because if that’s the cause it’s definitely anti social personality disorder on another level of hatefulness and mental illness
Wow, a story of a good man like this saving innocent children and all you can think is to dismiss it and post about things about what other people are now doing that just happen to share the sane religion as some of those saved? If it was a film about a man heroically saving Muslim children in India 1945 from an attack by Hindu nationalists, for example, and a poster replied basically saying ‘yeah so what those people’s families are now in ISIS etc etc’ I’m pretty sure you’d think they were racist, lacking humanity, and being pretty hateful.
@@BSteel583 Don’t be trying to make me feel guilty I said what I said and I meant every word. I think the Muslim community have proven their hearts aren’t as black as Israeli soldiers right now and their supporters who are descendants of people being portrayed in this film and the real people in this film are 💯 percent turning in their graves with shame and embarrassment of what their relatives have become. The one thing they hated most….NAZI’S
What happened to innocent Jewish men women and children on the 7th of October or have you conveniently forgotten and only see the situation in Gaza which was brought on by the terrorist group Hamas actions in Israel 🇮🇱 ?

And Johnny Flynn was terrrific.
I always wondered if they'd make a film about Nicholas. He truly deserves it!
NO ONE ELSE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUITABLE FOR THIS PART THEN SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS ❤❤ without even watching I know it will be extraordinary
I was wondering when they'd make a movie about the extraordinary Mr. Winton. This will be a must see.
I’ve got the tissues ready

The trailer had me in tears and some of the comments too! Can't wait to see this movie! ❤
If ever a person deserved to live until 106 years old it would be Sir Nicholas. Can't wait to see this .
What a story, I was moved to tears. Who wouldn't be... Thank God for this courageous man and all the people that helped him.
Fascinating story. Superb cast. I hope it gets a wide release in January.
Sir Anthony has portrayed Sir Nicholas with such grace and dignity.
Looking forward to seeing this masterpiece.
I saw this at TIFF. It's brilliant. You will need boxes of tissues, not just a couple sheets.
So excited for this! It's about time they made a movie about Mr Winton. And featuring Anthony Hopkins...AMAZING!

For his extraordinary achievements, SIR NICHOLAS WINTON (1909-2015) was rewarded by God with a long, long life: 106 years! - Dear Nicky, R.I.P.
