    What about landmines? Is there any possibility of active landmines on those hills?

    • @TrueVikings
      @TrueVikings  4 года назад +2

      There is always a risk for that in war zones. It seems like the mountain troops did not use many land mines however. But yes I thread very carefully out there with detector coil in front of me :)

    WOW, those mosquitoes are brutal. I wonder if the soldiers also had to fight the insects along with the human enemy? Do you have a product called "OFF"? It might help to repel the bugs. Thanks for the video!

    • @TrueVikings
      @TrueVikings  4 года назад +5

      True Vikings don't need no OFF products, haha. No actually I had some Off with me - those squetoes are brutal! I bet they plagued the soldiers as well. But perhaps less of them bugs around in April-June when the fighting took place

      @@TrueVikings There is another product call "Skin So Soft" made by a company called "Avon". It was designed and marketed as a skin lotion for women. But, quite by accident, it also proved to be an excellent mosquito repellent.

    You spend too much time alone Emil LOL. Liked your finds and the countryside. The strange ground cover looks good. The rock appeared to be granite Pegmatite. I would say you could only get there in peak summer months. Keep looking you may find coins or insignias.
    By the way MORTARS are the items in those cases.

    Hi! I know that most of English troop inside the Pionners were spanish republicans, and I hear that the Norwegian trade unions raise an graveyard monument in their memory, but could you tell me where, please?

    • @TrueVikings

      First time I hear this. Not sure where such a monument would be. Very interesting tho

    • @salvita64
      @salvita64 4 года назад

      True Vikings , I think it’s in the main graveyard. Around 45% of the “english” soldiers were spaniards, of the 2000 troops disembarked at Bjervik the 2/6/40’, 900 were spaniards, only 300 survived the Norway campaign . The fought very hard, it’s a shame that they are erased from history...

    I wonder if you have been searching here on a place where it is not allowed, protected by cultural heritage law.
    You can check it out at kulturminnesok DOT no (slow map-update).

      Hi, thanks for your concern. We always do everything by the book here on True Vikings and respect each countries rules on our travels. I made sure to stay out of the 27 square kilometer protected area and detected with the landowners permission (forest company). The whole area where fighting took place is about 700 square km so lots of ground to go around
