Paul Heyman convinces Roman that they need the help since jey left and with the judgement day and hurt business on the rise they can use his help and as a sort of good faith punk hands the aew belt to Roman 😂😂😂 Roman will dropped the belt in the trash and tells punk you are back in the major leagues now paul trust you but i dont remember im the big dog here and a fight for power will happen later on but not after punk captures seths 3rd rate belt and helps solo and jimmy get the tag titles.

I think that's why he went to try and speak with the people in WWE, that he knew he should make amends with. Because he kinda knew that he'd be wanting to come back there, after he saw what the "structure" in AEW was like. He was probably feeling like DAMN IT, Vince and/or HHH would never allow this kind of bullshit to happen.

Jade's recent debut was just a small taste of the WWE machine behind people they know they can turn around and turn into a star. With Punk, it's simply to going to be a major middle finger back to AEW and taking back all the good will that was built around the time Punk and Danielson were coming in along with the various ex-WWE signings during the pandemic. So if Punk is treated well and gets a good spot/push, it'll be another signal for people who were already looking to the WWE that they need to get over faster or prevent whatever counter offer Tony Khan might try to make negligible.
And right now, if you look at the WWE, they're doing one heck of a job building their future and getting the right people lined up. So with Punk back over there, it just gives the WWE one more key draw to work with. Of course, the question is what exactly will Punk say or do if he, indeed, returns? There's two things he should address: 1) the initial speech he gave on his AEW debut (namely the "place that made me sick" part); 2) why he returned (especially with the drama with the Elite, Tony, JB, etc).
Quite honestly, it's highly doubtful he might address either part. I doubt Vince nor HHH nor Endeavor would want him to talk about "the place that made me sick." However, 2) could be interesting just because it's not completely below Vince, etc. to take a shot at his competitors when the right moment arises. The only thing is that HHH might not want to take any shot just to "focus on WWE matters" even though Punk could just become the biggest heel in wrestling by dropping a different pipe bomb. I mean, Brian didn't talk about Cody and Punk facing one another as a result of a particular issue but the glaring one is that Cody has maintained that he likes the Elite while it's quite apparent that Punk probably can't stand them. However, because that issue isn't grounded within the WWE, it would be harder to get the WWE audience to care as well as giving too much coverage to AEW. They could start with a small seed using that situation as an impetus (Cody telling Punk both guys came from that place but the difference being that Cody is still friends with those other guys while Punk has no friends because he's bitter) then just switch it to a difference in philosophy. Maybe Cody can talk about his legacy, his father while Punk's legacy is about shooting himself in the foot. So there's some very good material to work with to get the audience invested while not directly addressing everything.

Umm outside of Tiffany Straton who has been given a bit by working with Becky, the WWE's future isn't that bright until they allow the younger stars to break through and not wait for them to be in their 40's.
The WWE once boasted an incredibly youthful roster due to WCW taking away all the older, established stars. I remember JR boasting about Al Snow and Gangrel's respective ages at one point. Today, the biggest "new star" is LA Knight who's in his 40's. Yes, it may be a DDP story where a guy gets mega over and gets a push in his twilight years.
The WWE has a ton of young talent in NXT, but being big in NXT doesn't always translate to the main roster. Ricochet and DIY were meant to be the WWE's way of giving fans what they wanted - new blood battle tested in NXT... all three big deals in NXT... all three failed to register with main roster crowds. HHH's little indie darlings, his pet projects... none in McMahon's wheelhouse or main roster crowds'.
Enzo was doing ok, but then mic work is the lifeblood of main roster talent. His attitude and in-ring clumsiness were his undoing, otherwise he might have been the LA Knight of his time.
Elias got massive reactions at one point and was given a lot of chances... but also saw almost all of these cut off short for no reason other than "Yeah, we've got nothing else, bruh."
Drew worked out... but then with his size, how could he not? The WWE gave him a lot... until they didn't and he, like others (see his pal Sheamus) are grumbling about Bloodline stuff making it tougher for those not involved in that story to get airtime (a sore point for long time upper midcarders/frequent main eventers).
I guess out of all non-Bloodline people Gunther and Seth are making out ok. Gunther ticks a lot of evil foreign heel boxes that McMahon always liked and Seth is being rewarded for his loyalty and intangibles (jobbing to Cody multiple times and making him look good, rebuilding himself time and time again, married to the biggest female star since Trish Stratus). Judgement Day is getting time due to Rhea/Dom being so over and the WWE love second generation stars as a rule.
Other than that? Revolving door of talent struggling to get a smidgen of attention outside of pre-big match angles. Nakamura is an outlier as the ABEMA deal meant the WWE were desperate for Japanese talent to showcase (why else would they agree to loan him to a non-WWE event featuring a guy who never worked for WWE?). And look how quickly the WWE go back to old nostalgia acts whenever they have a chance? Cena, Trish, and possibly the Rock is the stars align (and the strike continues). Hell, they're promoting the freakin' Undertaker for NXT!!! The UNDERTAKER!!!

Punk will come back because he wouldn't want his legacy to end with what happened in AEW. WWE under Endeavour will want him because of ratings and PPV buy rates potential and that it will be a good boost under the new regime. WWE however will probably want him in order to stick it to AEW. Not because they think AEW is a threat its to stunt their growth so they or someone else wont become a threat. Its the same tactics they used when Ring of Honor started to get hot and then WWE used NXT to steal a bit of their thunder. However its to punish khan and the young bucks/elite for the open disrespect to WWE. The only promotion i know where the WWE didnt bother with was TNA/Impact but correct me if im wrong but i dont remember any WWE tactic to ruin them and Impact as a company never dissed WWE.
