What I enjoy the most about your videos is how you break it down to the fundamentals. I've seen lots of videos that are just: 1)Build this 2)Spam X ability 3)????? 4)Profit I love playing Guardians and your video helped me out a lot! It's taking on that mentality that's the key. I usually avoid Assassins (except Thor) as I get frustrated when I can't play them properly. This video has given me the hope that I can possibly do OK as one now. Well, given enough practice time that is. :p
You are a wonderfully astute viewer, and I appreciate that. It is always great to make content that my viewers GET - so this is a great compliment to me and what I set out to do in every video. Thank you and I'm sure you WILL become better with assassins - practice is KEY!
Tip: If you plan on making the other guides, maybe split up mages a bit. Like healers are played quite a bit differently than let's say a Scylla. Same with Chronos, Freya, and Ao Kuang.
I was always afraid to play conquest. But this actually gives me the confidence to actually try it out with more of a grasp of it then before! Thank you!
If I were the Bacchus in the last clip,I'd rage quit, close the computer, pray to my Dark Lord,Satan, The Unholy Prince to curse any Loki player and end their life. Then I'd go on Smite Reddit and spend the rest of the day eating ice cream until I cry myself to sleep.
+Raynday Gaming I thought all of your points made sense but there is one thing I would add, your ego/confidence. Lets say you had no confidence you would never gank because you think you wont kill the opponent or that you will die even if they are at 20% hp. Having enough confidence can make you as a player so much better and especially as an assassin. Love the vids keep them coming
+james kritt To me, I have a solid rule in terms of risky situations. commitment. if youre gonna try something, ya gotta commit to it. I say it to my friends, and I live it in my play style. by no means am I gonna throw my life away, no. if I can get out, oh I will. but if I have one of those "its so stupid, it just might work" plans, I commit. no shirking till its done, or the plan falls apart in some way.
I really liked all of your points; coming from someone who plays mage main, when I made an effort to learn what assassins did and how they worked, Loki and etc are more manageable. I think the biggest emphasis I would put to new players is learn your god, learn their matchups, and learn to wait. People see assassin and, like you noted, expect to 100-0 targets, which many assassins can do, but not in the middle of a team who is expecting it. I love the guide and I love your work, keep it up!
This channel is very good cause new players like me and pros like my friend can watch your videos and understand them without finding neither boring nor to complicating
Thanks for this. I recently uninstalled Smite not only because finals were piling up and the games were taking too long, but also because I just had a really terrible losing streak with junglng, which is my favorite role. Thanks for posting this video, I was vaguely cognizant of some of these facts before, but hearing them here really helps ground me. If or when I reinstall Smite, I'll definitely keep these tips in mind. Keep up the good work!
A good refresher but tbh I learnt all this by practice and personal experience, the truth is to be a successful jungler you have to know every gods abilities and how to build/play your god as well as knowing how and when to fight.
About Loki combo, a way to higher is damage is do invis-ult-basic attack (hydra proc)-aimed strike-basic(another hydra proc). the only con is that the target might use escape skill, so it's better if you surprise and they aren't ready, or they have no escape
I agree with this video one hundred percent. I mostly jungle, and I'm mostly ever kali, so these are all things I've had to learn. I think knowing when to pick your fights/timing is key. A lot of people will get angry at you because they think your ult/combo does massive damage and that you just won't fail them by being point of the team fight. Nope. You have to know that, for example, you need to be aware of bellona's disarm as kali, ao kuang, and bakasura. Anything controlling also super shutdowns any assasins, so you have to know how to stop a Bacchus belch or avoid it altogether. The point is, you can't be pointman on your team as assasin and live. Another thing I see a lot of assasins mess up on is using your escape/leap/dash to initiate when the kill is not sure to happen. This is still part of the assasin pointman mentality. I only jump as Kali to get out of a fight I'm losing, to secure a kill with that leap (enemy is running and has less than 20% health) and maaaaybe an auto or two, or to box another assasin where I know their team is not on the way after I finish off the assasin (those are such exciting fights). I do not leap on anyone when they have full health, full kit, and they can get away with their own escape. I mean, even at full build I don't do that as much because I make myself an easier target and force myself to use more actives and abilities for one kill. Is one kill worth your purification, aegis, escape, combo, and some of your health? Sometimes, but not very often.
That last kill lol. That is the assassin's fatal flaw, "Just one more kill" "I can finish that one off, I know I can...and I'm dead." Cool video. I already implement all of these while playing as an assassin, but I am glad I watched the video. It was fun and I feel the pain on the missed loki ult where you hit a rock. I hate missing his ult.
+Juicylemons1212 I actually hit the ult, but Bastet jumped at exactly the same time, and it didn't follow her, lol. That's why I was like, what? But thanks man, and yeah - that fatal flaw will get ya! Thanks for commenting!
Your tips are best in RUclips. And as you said practice makes perfect. Also if there is any people who play any instrument (bass myself) knows that practice really does make perfect. And I'd like if you and your community would tell me if it would be cool to see in general a series about how to play bass. I appreciate your opinions. Also it would be awesome to see the rest of the classes. Keep up the great work.
I can't wait to see the rest of this set. ^.^ Being new to the game myself, it's too much to keep it all in. But the little bits even here and there help me improve. Never playing a game like this before I was clueless, but thanks to you and most your videos I'm starting to understand that this is like chess in ways. You have to wait and watch and plan wisely your classes. I love it all.
Raynday, I have to just say that you're an awesome youtuber. You're quickly becoming one of my favorite you tubers and you're helping me learn hot to play smite. When I see one of your videos in my feed its like a breath of fresh air and I just wanted to say thank you for being an amazing youtuber. You definitely deserve more subs and I'm hoping that you keep in doing you.
this really helped. i do really well as a hunter playing neith in smite but for some reason i bought bastet and kali. im ok with kali but really bad with bastet and i played her the first time someone said that as an assassin i had to stay in the front lines protecting hunters and mages. i was like "what?" isnt that a gaurdians or warriors job? so this REALLY helped
Great stuff! Can't wait for the remaining classes. I hope you do warrior class next, especially because you've pointed out it's something you've noticed doing too aggressively and not quite the "warrior" mentality. I love warrior God's but I'm still trying to capture their role complexity.
I really like this series. I was very excited when the supports videos came out because I'm main supp and I also really enjoyed this one because I'm not so good with assassins but I want to know perfectly how to play them! Keep the good job Raynday!!
For those of you that have been asking how to play Mages better I have a tip of my own that will help a ton. Play Kukulkan. You're probably thinking to yourself, "There has to be more too it." Well there is, lucky for you though what makes him great for learning is that the nature of his kit forces you to play like a mage, or else. He's pretty immobile so you learn to position correctly. He has great clear, reinforcing that it's your job to clear as a mage. And his only self-peel is a nuclear teamfight ultimate which also teaches you how to follow up on your teammates setup from safe positioning.
I liked this video a lot, although what I'm having trouble with most is how to play the actual jungling process, ie. grinding XP in conquest. Still, this makes me feel confident enough to start playing more assassins, since I rarely like playing squishy characters.
If I may suggest, Hunters next? I'm someone who frequently tries to play Hunters, thinking they're simply farm machines that need to get to late game, but I feel like that's the wrong approach. I haven't really found a good way to break away from that mentality, but if this video helped shape my outlook on my favorite class, then maybe you can do the same for my second favorite too. Thank you for reading.
for Loki, I will often charge straight forward at a team fight, ult someone in the backline and damn near insta kill them, then use aegis with invis followed up. enemy team on casual usually waste all their ults on my aegis then get wrecked by my team
Hunters would be a great thing to do. a lot of people don't under the pokes that hunters can give and such if you did a video on How to be a better Hunter, I'm sure people would learn a lot more since it's one of the most seen roles.
Loved this video, I will be sending this to all my friends that are newer to smite :) thanks for taking the time to explain these things. It can be hard sometimes to explain the roles in smite because as a veteran player a lot of these "rules" are second nature and almost don't even feel like rules anymore. Anyways thanks again for the great video, keep it up man. :)
Hey Raynday, are you gonna make one for each class? I really like playing as a warrior, because I'm so used to mages and hunters, but i decided to get a god in every class because of your "how to be a better smite player" video. It has helped me improve so much and i would like to thank you for putting out such great content and would really love to see more on each class.
Thanks for another great vid man. To be honest (saying this nicely :P) - I was slightly disappointed that this was more about the basics of Assassin and less about Jungling in Seas 3, which has been pretty tricky...but still some good reminders/refreshers in here. Apologies ahead of time for the following tl;dr for suggestions/requests.... ...how about a "be a better team player" vid that touches on anticipation, not assuming the worst if a play doesn't work out or someone's struggling, knowing that the scoreboard isn't the end all of performance summary, and just how easy it is to ONLY notice the bad things a teammate does, etc ...especially if you don't know that god they're using. ...or maybe a vid on Mana/HP efficiency, Sustain, Pokes, playing the patience game in lane, etc - I think there's a huge problem in this game where a lot of people just want to poke and jump in out of impatience, like its a shooter, then get upset when they fall behind and just want to surrender...but maybe that's just my experience with and randos and not a huge problem. Either way, I think mana/HP efficiency, and playing the long, patience game to outlevel enemies is seriously undervalued by a lot of players and there's very few videos to cover it. deep breath, phew, sorry, rant done. Thanks for another solid vid! :D
my friend is wanting me to get into Smite with him. so I'm checking out all the videos I can. seems like you're speaking from your advanced standpoint and it's going over top of noobs like me and others heads.
I would really love a mages video, even though I THINK I know all the ins and outs because I main mid-lane. It always helps to get some advice that you might have missed.
Being briefly noticed in a YT video my dreams have become reality. Though this is a great vid in it's own right of course, and this type of mentality is why I joined this clan. Good people playing good smite. Keep up the good work =D.
i dont play every assasin but i have max masterd loki, bastet and arachne and what i learned is that the most important thing is to knowing your teams cc couldowns aswhel as the enemies
Comment: I wish Hi-Rez have or use this video as an introduction to new players. Would have made a lot of things easier.... Suggestion: Include Transitioning Slides with a title for each tip you are going to explain. Then at the end make a list of tips that was discussed in shortened titles. Ex: Tip# Know You Positioning, etc. By sectioning off the video and listing a brief title name for each tip could help people to remember better as a list in their head. Action: I liked your video and subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work!
This guide is amazing just like the other ones. The only problem I have found is that with the meta constantly changing it is very hard to start off being a jungler/assassin. The SMITE community can be fun at times but is also very unforgiving and harsh. It doesn't matter if the entire team did bad, if they lose while you were jungle/solo and you weren't doing amazing like 8:1 ratio, they will tear into you. This a very large obstacle to anyone who wants to learn, sure you can do practice games but that never really prepares you for normal games. The jungle is my worse role and because of that there are a lot of assassins I have not tried yet, not only because I know ill probably get yelled at because the other person couldn't possible have done anything wrong themselves, but because I do not wish to lose. This went from a critique to a rant, to a self pity sentence XD
this helped me so much I'm new to the game I play on console and and I played kali yesterday when 0 and 19 and I just played a game of joust and got 5 kills 2 deaths and 6 assists so this really helped thanks.
Have to say man, this was a excellent video. Equal parts entertaining as it was informative. If there was anything I could suggest it would be maybe syncing up your examples with the game play footage. I know it's a lot of extra work but it would certainly make the advice even more impactful. I'm still new to Smite but I've found that mages are usually my go to. I vote for Mages next. Thanks for the video again!
+Neveragain41 Yes, I try to do that as much as possible. However, what that would mean in terms of recording is pretty astronomical at times, considering the way I personally create these videos. However, I try to sync it up as much as possible. Thanks for the feedback as I will keep this in mind for the next video for sure!
You should talk about mages, i've see many people having trouble with mages, ex they are he bo and they die a lot on early but they say hey im he bo im late game what can you expect, or they just go trynna one shot someone and dont care for anything help then they get mad cause they had no help. You should also do a simple build guide, like at least for mage/supports which have an standard type of build for most of the gods in that class. Im an old smite player but i love to watch these typde of videos. So keep it up bro good luck (Y)
I'd like to see you do a video on non assassin junglers in the future, such as Sobek, Anubis, Smack and ameterasu, some gods can play many types of roles and completely change into a different God altogether in some cases, and I'd like to know how to play and play against a those situations
One big thing I've noticed assassins do is try and save their ult. Don't be afraid to use your ult to escape or initiate an attack. Don't save it till they're extremely low on health and you just want to confirm a kill every time.
just got into smite again since the beta since it came out for ps4 so i got some friends playing it now. i like the information and im going to see what else you have to offer. looks good so far though keep it up
Patience is very important .. also you should know what your team can do not only what YOU can do... also try to balance farm with ganks .. you do not want to be more than a level behind the enemy jungler ..
I'm still new to this game and I found out it's pretty obvious that you want to level up as fast as possible. I know that killing minions are a good way to level up, but how do you do that in Jousting if you're expected to hide in the jungle?
Everett Logan Joust is a much different scenario than conquest. In joust, the jungle is not large enough, complex enough, or have enough xp camps to facilitate a full time jungler. you will stay in the lane most of the time, and farm there. If your team needs a buff, go ahead and get it for them.
liked & subscribed here! I stumbled across your vids when i started looking for a khali guide. I've watched 5 of them now and love what you do. So fortunate to have found your channel. Well done sir keep up the great work!
I'd like to think I am a fairly not terrible hunter but I know I can improve on it so much. My favourite gods are Chiron and Anhur, both of which hunters obviously, and I'd love to know how I should play the role much better, not only the character.
I like that you have how to play as a better assassin class, but do you think you could do one on jungling in and of itself? Like jungle paths, starts, etc?
Raynday, you forgot 2 things: 1st, use the chat and communicate with your team generally. Especially with assassins, it's extremely important. 2nd, and that goes for every role, LOOK AT THE MINI MAP!!!! Every 5 seconds, look at the map and see who is missing, where they might be etc... I can't stress this enough. In MOBAs, knowledge is power, that's why the Map and the Wards are the most OP items in the game! (Solo Double J 2016)
I play the Assassin's Creed Mentality where I fight everyone at once and just press the counter button over and over.
I died alot.
Lol
The feels
lol
So true lol
You made my day. ;D
What I enjoy the most about your videos is how you break it down to the fundamentals. I've seen lots of videos that are just:
1)Build this
2)Spam X ability
3)?????
4)Profit
I love playing Guardians and your video helped me out a lot! It's taking on that mentality that's the key. I usually avoid Assassins (except Thor) as I get frustrated when I can't play them properly. This video has given me the hope that I can possibly do OK as one now. Well, given enough practice time that is. :p

"and just like a surgeon, it is very execution heavy" I know exactly what he means, but this still cracked me up.
Tip: If you plan on making the other guides, maybe split up mages a bit. Like healers are played quite a bit differently than let's say a Scylla. Same with Chronos, Freya, and Ao Kuang.
+Pavorish I agree with this suggestion
I'm new and also new to smite but I play on ps4 I like your tips they help out a lot thx earned a new sub
Thanks Alex, welcome to SMITE and the channel. Hope you have a great time!
+Raynday Gaming thank you for teaching me the way of the Smite pro I've gotten way better thanks.
Alex Dunham Hey man if you still play reply? we could team up 👍 I'm not that bad
Vertigo Films you can add me Fuze_Alex but I mostly play paragon. Now
Alex Dunham I'll add you soon. I have a little smite game play on my channel
I was always afraid to play conquest. But this actually gives me the confidence to actually try it out with more of a grasp of it then before! Thank you!
all my life I've been looking for a smite channel like this.
This is a very sweet comment - makes my evening! Thank you!
+Raynday Gaming Your very welcome ! :D
+Raynday Gaming How about ao koung as an assassin/mage
If I were the Bacchus in the last clip,I'd rage quit, close the computer, pray to my Dark Lord,Satan, The Unholy Prince to curse any Loki player and end their life. Then I'd go on Smite Reddit and spend the rest of the day eating ice cream until I cry myself to sleep.
reason why I hate Loki xD
IKR that play was just savage. I'd rage hard
I did not make up #swampbutt, I swear.
+Raynday Gaming That killing of afkterasu (minute 2:30 or so) was so nasty. I never kill lagging hard players.
I guess that's why I main support!.
+Raynday Gaming Bruh, It's like Steve Erwin came back from the grave! (5:34)
+Raynday Gaming I thought all of your points made sense but there is one thing I would add, your ego/confidence. Lets say you had no confidence you would never gank because you think you wont kill the opponent or that you will die even if they are at 20% hp. Rule 36: Make sure to go to the opposite lane where the fight is whenever possible and only attack groups of three or more. You are a one man army.
lol, if u wanna die
I killed the whole team once.
They kept coming one by one so I kept reking them as Baka
I thought of Rule 34 for some reason
I know I'm super late joining this community, but I'm loving smite on ps4 despite getting destroyed every game. These videos are helping a lot!
Please do Warriors next. I wanna be able to play them well, I just don't know how to go about that.
I like how you included voices to make your points a bit more funny and suitable for a wider audience. You're gonna blow up soon, man! Keep it up!
Who does the art in the beginning? It's really good.
+ThE ToAsTeR HoG Franco Carranza. He does all my art.
+ThE ToAsTeR HoG Thanks a lot man, really appreciate it
As someone who's been playing for around 3-4 months now, this guide is helpful. Subbed.
Skip the entire vid.
How to play assassin:
Walk up to backline target
Roll face on keyboard
Ez game ez life
This channel is very good cause new players like me and pros like my friend can watch your videos and understand them without finding neither boring nor to complicating
But what about the magehunterwarrior Zhong Kui? ;)
build attspeed with hide of the urchin and you`re done :P
LOL, he just, he...doesn't fit in.
Raynday Gaming what about the assassin in disguise Ao Kuang?
Thanks for this. I recently uninstalled Smite not only because finals were piling up and the games were taking too long, but also because I just had a really terrible losing streak with junglng, which is my favorite role. I want to see the hunter's guide or mages next
Basically mentioned everything.
I especially liked the comparisons with real life scenarios.
Leaving a like as I go back into the jungle.
Raynday can you make a video on jungle rotations for conq pls ?? it would be a big help
Yeah... a general top 5 "How Not To Embarrass Yourself in Conquest" would be awesome, or any specific roles/concepts like jungle or mid-lane.
A good refresher but tbh I learnt all this by practice and personal experience, the truth is to be a successful jungler you have to know every gods abilities and how to build/play your god as well as knowing how and when to fight.

+Aaron Carlson lol yep
+Aaron Carlson never press f6 - u lose the game coz of that!
That last kill lol. That is the assassin's fatal flaw, "Just one more kill" "I can finish that one off, I know I can...and I'm dead." Cool video. Would love to see a warrior video next! As a support main Im glad these are becoming a thing, awesome job to you! gg :)
I've watched like 4 videos of yours and I am already in love with your sense of humor. 😂😂

Great video, I play lots of Kali and Merc and this was mostly stuff I already knew, but very helpful for the stuff I didn't!
Thank you. I wanted to be a better assassin and try to jungle. I'm not the best at it but this made me feel more confident.
My new favorite smite youtuber, cannot wait to finally play this game. Thanks for the help:)
+TheArmedZen my pleasure! Thanks for watching man!!
same !;ð

dude thanks man i dont play this role but my over all game has gotten better thanks 2 your videos
You, my good sir, have the voice of a god. So smooth and ear appealing xD
for Loki, I will often charge straight forward at a team fight, ult someone in the backline and damn near insta kill them, then use aegis with invis followed up. enemy team on casual usually waste all their ults on my aegis then get wrecked by my team
I watch your videos and play smite and I was one getting all the kills each time like 18 to 4 thanks man your videos helps

that last kill with loki was some major chasing
Great video! I've been playing for a while now and there is something new I learn from your videos from time to time, much appreciated Raynday!
omg swamp butt!!! loved it!! and i couldnt have said it better,i was a 2-27 player until i learned the combos. keep up the vids bro You Rock!
my friend is wanting me to get into Smite with him. so I'm checking out all the videos I can. seems like you're speaking from your advanced standpoint and it's going over top of noobs like me and others heads.
Very helpful stuff. I have a tendency to jump in sometimes and think I can secure a kill when I in fact cannot. Or I underestimate the enemy.
Thanks for this, looking forward to it for so long!
Thx for the advice i just got smite and i started playing thor which i really like and consider it a awesome god.
First smite player that is actually helpful and not toxic thank you
this helped me so much I'm new to the game I play on console and and I played kali yesterday when 0 and 19 and I just played a game of joust and got 5 kills 2 deaths and 6 assists so this really helped thanks.
I'll definitely be looking more at your channel after this video, you have a new sub now! Keep it up.
After listening to this, a few weeks later I went 18/0/15 in an Arena game(which has been the best so far for me!)
Mages because I'm kinda new to the game and after and during the tutorial I gravitated towards Ra and wanted to learn to think about this class better
This video is the first one I've watched on your channel and now I'm subscribing!!!!!
Nice I finally found a channel who does good AND funny Smite videos. thanks for this raynday
Your guides are awesome. To the point detailed. Love the humour as well. Thank you Raynday.
Thanks man this video really helped me to become a better assassin/jungler.
So keep it up bro good luck (Y)
u have my like for the darwin joke , love it
Great guide here. Very informative and supported information. The class I struggle with the most is assassin and I think this helped me 👌
wow, this is actually really helpful, im pretty good with loki so im more than sure this is going to make me 100 times better lol
Dang nice dude that info really helps my timing has been off for like the longest time now
I'd like to see you do a video on non assassin junglers in the future, such as Sobek, Anubis, Smack and ameterasu, some gods can play many types of roles and completely change into a different God altogether in some cases, and I'd like to know how to play and play against a those situations
Smack?+CountofBleck
+CountofBleck SMACK
THE NEW GOD
Tristan Margottin Oh wow...that was supposed to be Skadi....Gotta love auto correct, eh?
*Tips hat*
Ah, Ducking Auto-Correct!!!
+Tristan Margottin ao koung is a great non assassin jungler
Hey Raynday, thanks for the video. I am going to try your tips. Could you please do mages next?
One big thing I've noticed assassins do is try and save their ult. Don't be afraid to use your ult to escape or initiate an attack. Don't save it till they're extremely low on health and you just want to confirm a kill every time.
just got into smite again since the beta since it came out for ps4 so i got some friends playing it now. i like the information and im going to see what else you have to offer. looks good so far though keep it up
This helps a hell of a lot! But I still suck sometimes as assassins so I might watch this several times.
The next Top 5 ways should be for Mages. Im a mid main and i would love to know how to be better :3
My favourite gods are Chiron and Anhur, both of which hunters obviously, and I'd love to know how I should play the role much better, not only the character.
as thor i usually barricade a wall behind the enemy Phoenix and use my hammer as far attack , with the untiamte i go for groups
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for posting this! XD Hopefully this helps me. Keep up the great videos!!
+PaigexStyles :) Of course Paige!
I like that you have how to play as a better assassin class, but do you think you could do one on jungling in and of itself? Like jungle paths, starts, etc?
your tips are really helpful, i really enjoy playing assassins now ;)
Very nice vídeo, i'm struggling, trying to become a better jungler and this helped me a lot! Thanks, man 😃
Raynday, you forgot 2 things:
1st, use the chat and communicate with your team generally.
